The Eskaya experience means getting pampered all throughout your stay that by the time you have to go, you wouldn't actually want to leave. It truly was one of the best tropical vacations I've had. Ever.

1. Service

One of the many amazing things about Eskaya is the service. All staff members were warm, polite, and always alert. There are times when you don't even have to ask, they just instinctively provide what you need with much enthusiasm. In the afternoon, a staff member would be at our door and give us complimentary snacks (delicious local delicacies). When we inquired about the usage of kayak, they gave us the time when it will be high tide and when we got to the beach at the designated time, everything was already arranged for us, we really just had to hop on the kayak. But for me, the best part was the massage at the Handuraw Spa. It was just beyond amazing. And this is coming from a person who regularly gets a massage.

2. Villa

The deluxe villa looks so beautiful--from the high wooden ceiling to the outdoor showers and jacuzzi. It was just everything I could ever ask for in a romantic getaway! There's an infinity pool in which we can swim in silence after spending hours at the beach. There's a balcony, which I gotta say is my favorite part, with two comfortable beds from where you can view the sea in quiet contemplation. And if you just want to chill or watch TV in the room, you can borrow DVDs from the front desk.

3. Location and Amenities

Eskaya is barely a 5-minute drive from the Tagbilaran airport and sits on a nice spot on the beach with white sand and clear waters. There are a lot of activities to do in the resort, just check out the stuff in the front desk and you'll never run out of things to do. The stuff provided for in the villa were more than sufficient. Even rubber slippers (aside from the customary bedroom slippers) as well as a beach bag were provided.

Eskaya is a really beautiful resort but what I liked best about it is that the whole place is quiet. It's like we were the only ones there. It's just perfect for a vacation away form the hustle and bustle of the metro.

Overall good experience. Very private and relaxing, which is good because we don’t like crowded places and everyone are very welcoming and kind. However few concerns:

1. Food choices are limited and overpriced, food for me tastes 6/10
2. Housekeeping failed to throw the garbage out, also did not fix our beds (for 2 nights), but they cleaned the dining area and refilled the bottled waters, so am not sure what happened there
3. We did not like how we were responded in emails, answers were too short and vague. Sounded to us that our requests were not being heard or just brushed off
4. There should be a buzzer from the beach area to call on the servers because it’s a bit far to call the server from the resto just to ask for water or just wait for someone to pass by

Nice and quiet resort, far enough from the bustle and hassle of Alona beach but close enough to enjoy their restaurants and shopping. The chef at Eskaya is excellent, every dish was perfect, especially Filipino cuisine. The staff was caring and attentive, especially Herbert looked after us extremely well. Very profesional and service oriented. Our daughter wasn’t feeling well and they were ready to arrange medical care in the middle of Easter holidays, which is the most important religious holiday in the country so only ER in Tagbilaran was open. Herbert and his colleagues were super nice, they took care of every wish we had. If you use a tricycle to take you to Alona Beach, we highly recommend Allan Bongo, just tell the staff at Eskaya and he’ll be waiting for you at the gate. We were very pleased and happy with our holidays.

Very terrible room and service for usd 1300 per nights. The room we got is totally different from Expedia (sofa beds in living room vs. single beds in loving room). The GM and staff refused to offer any help, but asked us to coordinate with Expedia ourselves. Plus, we made the booking (non refundable) and then got email for "compulsory" nye dinner of usd 170 per person. The service attitude is "patient but useless", and GM basically said they dunt care about social media reviews. The entire experience is very disappointing and I'm feeling cheated / trapped. Plus: not fresh breakfast, nobody wants to use the so called private beach, and out of toilet paper / tower with no change until called.

Beautiful location. Friendly staff... and then it’s all down hill from there. Poor communication among staff. They don’t have clear management chain. When ordering food we were told that the meat order did not come in so we could not order meat dishes. They didn’t have wines listed on the wine list. Basic requests for towels, napkins, water and other things were not fulfilled. Complete disarray with their Spa services. Three of us received the worst massages we ever had.

A previous reviewer who, like me, clearly spent a number of nights here, was pretty spot on with their comments, most of which I echo. I paid A$930 a night for an Infinity Pool Villa, for which I expected something truly outstanding. As a comparison, for $A750 a night I can get a harbour view room at the majestic Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong...one of the great hotels of the world.
The villa itself was nice enough apart from the pile of empty beer cans and other garbage that had fallen down, unnoticed, behind the TV console. The open air bathroom was also OK, with an old and uncomfortable spa bath, but in general the whole villa felt a bit tired and unloved. 3/4-star, perhaps, but certainly not 5-star.
The food was awful. I had an oily dish of pasta on the first night and didn’t bother again with dinner. And the breakfasts were similarly dire. At best it was canteen quality and by the third day I started I going into town to the excellent Gavroche, for croissants and decent coffee.
So, despite the website promise of an opulent experience it delivered way below my expectations. I could not, in any honesty, recommend this place to anyone!

The worst resort you can possibly stay in Panglao. Rented 3 villas for our stay in December priced at about $800 per night. No amenities except for an outdated pool with a non-functional pool bar. Flat pillows, rooms need updating- some lights not working, leak stain marks on the ceiling, a rat on top of the ceiling waking us up in the middle of the night. Terrible service, most of the items on the menu are not available such as fruits which you can easily find on the market.

Let me start by saying the place is beautiful and does offer privacy. Caveat- choose your villa well. Villa 15 is lovely, while 10 looks out into the kitchen and you can smell what everyone will be having. Villa 10 was just unkempt- TV, ref and safety deposit box weren’t working. No cups, glasses, etc.
Overall, the place is in need of a good manager. Attention to detail and going the extra mile, which you would expect from a pricey and supposedly upscale place is non existent.
We arrived at 1pm, clearly the place was empty but front desk still insisted on a 2pm check in. There was a welcoming committee but not even a cold towel or drink.
Sent several emails to confirm details of our stay but this was still not clear upon check in.
Ordered room service Thursday, dishes weren’t collected until Sunday.
The beach is neglected. Deck chairs are dirty and just plopped down, no towels, no service.
No tours offered. You’re pretty much left to figure things out on your own once you check in.
Shuttle service pretty non existent as well. Booked one for 2pm, it arrived at 3 with no apologies.
Agree with another reviewer who said it felt deserted more than private.
Restaurant staff was nice but quite clueless. Food was okay.

All of this would have been ok if it didn’t bill and price itself as premium. Clearly adjustments need to be made.

Ezkaya is a must-see place for couples and families who want privacy and exclusivity without having to lock yourself in the villa just to get that. The beach, pool, and outdoor amenities and private villas exude natural and simple elegance. It is sp beautiful witjout trying to hard. To top it off, the people in Ezkaya are all smiles making the stay just so peaceful and easy and relaxed. That is what a vacation is all about. Thank you Ezkaya!! Cannot wait to book your infinity villas :)

What not to love about Eskaya? One of the best resorts I have visited in Panglao Bohol. The receptionists were really helpful and friendly. The staff really is very hands on and knows how to deal with guests. The room was well equipped and the service was excellent. The location of my room was absolutely perfect.
Ambiance wise, no other resort in Bohol can offer what Eskaya has. The view and the aesthetics are just awesome and when I was there, it felt like a private beach, a very good place to relax and chill. The scenery is just beautiful.
I spent my New Year’s Eve in Eskaya, and I would say that it was one of the most memorable and awesome stays that I had. The service that the staff extended to the guests in general and to me in particular, I would say is splendid, and is a value for the money. What I enjoyed the most is the company of other guests as well as the splendid service of RM Janice and of course to usher the New Year are the fireworks! Food was just delectable! Five out of five!

Sorry I don’t how much they charging for all including. But we paid 15K pesos = $300 for 6 days for lunch and dinner at the restaurant there. Just letting you know that we all the time order deserts and a lot of food lol . You can manage with much less there:) You won’t regret your choice of the hotel !
