The staff at this hotel everywhere from the reception , first of all , through to the restaurant and bar area and the chefs were very friendly , and very welcoming with a lovely smile on their faces, which also includes the wonderful room service staff , often overlooked but extremely important , they too were friendly, smiling and delightful . The excellent location and more traditional looking Spanish style of building is just sufficiently far from the main centre of town where all the restaurants and bars are, so it’s ideal in terms of walking distance and directly opposite the beach which is a little bit away from the harbour and the port and all the boating , so no oil slicks !!! something I prefer with a direct view eastwards into the larger than expected bay of pollensa . the water is crystal clear with very gentle waves and as it is of course, Mediterranean, very little in the way tidal flow , the beach was clean and superb .
The cleanliness of the hotel is excellent and the setting for breakfast and evening meal under the umbrellas on the terrace as an absolute delight to wake up to in the mornings and be there as well as well as in the evenings. I was extremely lucky with the weather this October which was sunnier brighter and warmer than normal for the particular week that I went ,which of course helps.
My only mild criticism and I did go into the swimming pool, but it is a little bit on the cold side and not many people were using it, I did take the plunge on a couple of occasions and braved it but it was a little cool, however, that would be absolutely perfect in hot summer temperatures through the normal summer season.
All in all , an excellent stay and a lovely experience. The duration of my stay , one week , 10 -17 OCT 2024

Just home from our favourite place, and our 2 weeks were exceptional from the fab food (dinner outside in balmy weather was totally romantic) and Majorcan wines to the best room in the hotel again (I’m not telling you which one or you might book it!). The staff go the extra mile and their is a place in our hearts for Sebastian who runs the restaurant, Paloma who is a wonderfully welcoming waitress, and Juan who remains the most enthusiastic barman in the world - we missed seeing him racing around looking after guests as he was based in the bar, and hope that he is back to hosting/serving people when we return. Marta on reception is a truly lovely lady and so very helpful (as are all the Reception staff particularly the energetic and hardworking young man. I can’t recommend this hotel enough - it’s our happy place. Very little suggestions for improvement except:- 1. No mirrors in the bedroom or sitting area which are positioned by a power point (in Britain electrical items such as hairdryers are seen as a danger due to the risk of electrocution), so hair styling and grooming are difficult. 2. TV and radio reception is hit and miss, sometimes it works but other times channels disappear. We missed Sunshine Radio and have to use the internet to listen. 3. Still no fresh decaff coffee at breakfast despite the new machines. Lovely Sebastian made it for me every day, but it’s a shame it isn’t available in the machines, as he is so busy. 4. We missed seeing the entertainment from previous years, such as Michael Jackson night, Spandau Ballet night, etc. They are still performing, as we saw adverts for them in other places. 5. More fish please especially per espada, sardines, more shellfish - the barbecue was meat only. And no sign of ensaiamadas - a real favourite! 6. If dinner could start and end later, rather than very early, this would allow us to enjoy our sunset aperitifs without rushing before the food ran out.
But so many excellent reasons for my 5 star rating - free secure parking, marvellous views and furnishings, top notch cleaning and lovely complimentary toiletries this year. Each day started with our sunrise balcony drink (no, not alcohol!) anticipating a fabulous day. A swim from the tropical beach each afternoon is unbeatable, upon our return to the hotel. We visited our favourite towns and villages in our car, and enjoyed many lunches and coffees around the north and central area of this beautiful island. Shopping in Palma is stress free - and our U.K. government could learn a lot from Majorcans with regard to cleanliness and road maintenance.

My wife and I had a great week's holiday at this lovely hotel. The views of Pollensa Bay from the front facing balcony rooms is phenomenal. The location on the outskirts of Puerto Pollensa is ideal for those wishing a quiet base and the 15minutes stroll along the prom to the town is a delight too. All these points are plusses but the real assets are the staff namely Cristina, Dani and especially Xisca on reception as they handled our stay with courtesy and always with a smile. We were booked on a half board basis and we enjoyed the variety on offer and again the staff are very professional, Sebastien, Ana and the rest of the team helped to make our meal times relaxed and added to our experience. To summarise we would thoroughly recommend Hotel Hoposa Uyal for your stay in Puerto Pollensa and we aim to return in the future.

Superb, we stayed for one week from July 9th to 16th and this was our fourth stay at the Uyal over the last 8 years. Everything about the hotel is super, from the architecture of the original hotel to the modern annex. As other reviewers have stated the hotel is spotless and the staff are fantastic, we had met Marta from our previous visits and also Sebastian the dining room manager both who are friendly and extremely helpful with any questions we had. There were quite a few new younger faces regarding reception and waiting staff since the last time we were here in 2022. But everyone was very helpful and friendly. We have previously done half board as the breakfast and evening meals are great, but this time we went bed and breakfast as we wanted to try some of the excellent restaurants in town. For some reason we were giving an upgrade to one of the suites on the ground floor of the annex with its private patio and sunbed. We were very happy and grateful for that and the room was lovely apart from a sticking patio door and a poor supply of hot water in the bathroom and shower. (One for the maintenance man I think.) Others have already mentioned the location and the closeness to the beach which we particularly like and the walk into the town in the evening to the marina and pine walk is a lovely way to spend a warm summer evening. We were always back in time to catch the excellent entertainment that's on most evenings in the outside area. We are booking this week to be back in 2025 but for 10 days if possible and already looking forward to it immensely.

Thank you for another beautiful holiday Hotel Uyal! We stayed for a week in a sea view room with bed and breakfast. This hotel stands out visually and as a well run business. The staff are always happy and extremely professional. We had a few difficult, stormy days during our stay but this hotel dealt with this in a calm and organised manner. There was a lot of rain! The lifeguard was always assessing the sky to see what safeguarding measures to take as the weather was a bit unpredictable. Thank you for always helping with the parasol! Breakfast is eaten is peaceful surroundings and the food is highly enjoyable, especially the bread and the omelettes. Our room had a big bathroom and the newly decorated floors, walls and neutral furnishings are breathtaking. This is such an asset to the hotel alongside the already appealing outside areas. We have already booked for July ‘25 with our friends and we look forward to staying once again at Hotel Uyal.

The Hoposa Uyal is a wonderful hotel with a pool on top of the apartments next to it that has stunning views. It was nice and quiet when we stayed but as other people have mentioned it is not really suitable for children, even older children as the pools are quite small and one set of teenagers monopolised it playing with a football which was unfair. We stayed half board and the food was good with buffet breakfast and evening meal with plenty of choice. However, part the way through our stay the hotel decided to go an a la carte for the main course of the evening meal with no notice which meant that the portions were very small supposedly for the benefit of the guests and massively reduced choice. This was very arrogant of the management as nobody wanted this and quite a few people including us complained. This appeared to be a cost saving exercise as not all the serving stations were used for food. On the first night some people waited over an hour between starter and main which is not acceptable, eventually they changed it back to buffet. This was our first stay at the Uyal and other people had said that they tried the same a la carte ploy in previous years because of this I would probably not stay again as I don't like being manipulated when I have paid for one thing and receive another. We booked through Jet2 Holidays as we moved hotels due to the first hotel being very poor and not as advertised (Ferrer Janiero Hotel) and the In Resort Helpers were totally useless and Jet2 didn't want to know. Would definitely not use Jet2 again for any of our holidays. We had secured a sea view room at the Hoposa Uyal with a member of staff. The Jet2 In Resort Helper told us that there were no sea view rooms available, even though we had secured it and could see on our phone on the Jet 2 website that it was available. We believe that she did this to do all that she could to stop us from moving hotels. She then called us back and said that the only room available was no sea view or balcony. In the end we were so desperate to leave the Janiero Hotel that we just took it. We ended up with a very dark room, someone else had described it as like being in a cupboard. We found Jet2 to be very disinterested and there is no formal complaint procedure and once they have your money it is a gamble as to if your holiday will be what you have paid for and they just quote terms and conditions.

This was our third stay at The Uyal and it won't be the last! This location is superb with direct access to the beach and four swimming pools. The patio area is amply provided with everything needed to relax and sunbathe and it provides a well serviced outdoor dining area. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious with each room opening onto a balcony. Cleaning and maintenance to rooms is to a very high standards with immediate requests for assistance. The hotel is gorgeous with newly decorated rooms. We had a suite with sun beds on the balcony and a lovely view. The terrace at the front has huge comfy daybeds and is just across the road for a dip in the sea. There is a lovely rooftop sundeck in the adjacent building with plunge pool and good sun beds. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice although the juices all tasted watery. We went on a half board basis but after 2 nights we ate dinner out as we felt the offering to be of poor quality. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. There had been some rain which led to a high number of mosquitoes so repellent was essential and not 100% effective. We would go back but on a bed and breakfast basis.

We stayed in a spacious Junior Suite in the main building on the 3rd floor, bed and breakfast. We met up with friends who were staying in a Sea View room. The rooms are so clean and had ample space to store clothes. On the subject of cleanliness, every morning a team of ladies could be seen at the front of the hotel, sweeping sand away and wiping down the loungers, furniture and Bali beds. They worked so very hard! Breakfast was plentiful and there is literally no grinding of chairs or blaring music. Uyal have got the correct peaceful ambiance needed at breakfast time. The waiting staff are happy people and always had a smile. The pool is relaxing and there was always a comfortable, wooden sun bed to lay on, complete with a little pull out table to put your drinks on. The beach was not full and the sun beds are definitely worth the €15. The beach bars are inexpensive and have a relaxing atmosphere. We wish that we had stayed at Hotel Uyal years ago. This was our 11th visit to Majorca, having stayed previously in the south. We are hoping to stay again with a different set of friends in August 2024. Book it now as you will love your stay! ❤️

Great hotel in Port de Pollenca, we have visited the area many times but first time staying here and were very impressed with the service from everyone! The reception staff were extremely helpful at all points of our stay, bar staff always very attentive as well as housekeeping doing an amazing job. Rooms were very clean (not as spacious as we thought it was going to be), amazing location and views off the beach. The Adults Only pool was incredible and very nice to relax and sunbathe. We stayed in a normal view room and got a side sea view, which was really nice.
However, when we booked the policy seemed to be ages 14+ only but when we arrived there were many infants not expecting it (which is a bit disappointing!). I wouldn't recommend this hotel for young kids as the pool is not as big as other hotels and there isn't much for younger kids to do in the hotel.
Despite the policy changing, was a very nice, small hotel and would visit again!
