I thought that the hotel Cadilac was a beautiful hotel. The rooms were large and very well decorated. We had a large balcony overlooking the square. The square is quite pretty, and is in the process of being renovated and made more attractive. The tiles in the room were a very pretty blue colour. The bathroom was huge, and we always had hot water. The beds were comfortable, there was a refrigerator, and nice soaps and shampoos. The restaurant on the fourth floor had very good food. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The fish was very fresh. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and accommodating . I wanted to take friends to dinner. They allowed me to take people to the restaurant even though the meal was included. All I had to do was pay a few pesos extra. Very reasonable prices. There were some problems though. The hotel is definitely not accessible to anyone with a physical handicap, as there is no elevator. It was also quite noisy at night, but that could have been because we were there on a weekend. I would stay there again in spite of the noise.

This hotel is situated right on Plaza Marti a pedestrianised area in the centre of town, the taxi that dropped me off couldn't stop outside and so I had a short walk across the Plaza. The hotel is very small only eight rooms but it has been completely modernised recently so the rooms are vey nice with good air conditioning and up to the minute bathrooms. The room I had was very comfortable with a fridge and a flat screen tv and a private balcony overlooking the Plaza. There is a tiny cafe/bar downstairs with a limited menu the breakfast provide was very small due to a lack of some ingredients.

Overall a very nice small hotel possibly a little overpriced compared with some I stayed in during my trip to Cuba.

While traveling through Cuba and staying only in casa particulares, we choose to stay in this Las Tunas hotel to cut our journey from Trinidad to Santiago in half. Besides Las Tunas being a rather uninspired place, the hotel was a total disappointment. Rooms smelled like people had been smoking, the showerhead hadn't been cleaned since the hotel opened (we guessed) and the curtains weren't wide enough to cover the windows. The hotel has a bar and terrace facing the plaza, packed with older Western men and (too young) Cuban girls. You can enjoy their loud conversations until well after midnight.
The breakfast is nothing more than a ham and cheese sandwich with instant fruit juice on the bar terrace. Maybe we were a bit spoiled by our excellent stays in the beautiful casa's Cuba has to offer, but if you're male, a bit at age and looking for young Cuban girls this is the place to be I guess.

Hotel Islazul Cadillac was built in 1945 in the shape of a big ship. It was beautifully restored in 2008. The hotel is located beside Parc Vicente Garcia with a boulevard running in front of and beside the hotel. I’m not sure where visitors are supposed to park their cars but when we were dropped off we had to lug our suitcases from the other side of Jose Marti Plaza.

I enjoyed staying at the hotel. When I arrived at my room I could hear music and went out on the balcony to see where it was coming from. What a treat to be overlooking the park and across from the Cultural Centre. There was constant entertainment around the Cultural Centre. On this day there were musicians on the rooftop across the park from my room practicing. People were in the park and on the boulevards from early in the morning until late at night. A wide variety of bands played in the park and on the boulevard and at the nearby Jose Mari Plaza. This is well worth a visit to see the sun clock and sea calendar. There are also a few art galleries in around the park.

Other nearby attractions are Supermercado Casa Azul, González Provincial Museum, and the Cultural Centre. To go further a field grab a horse taxi, the price is reasonable, but do set a price before you jump aboard.

OK, back to the hotel. Before we left Canada we checked it out on the web. The price quoted was 20.00 for a standard room. When we arrived the price was 40.00. The web now says the price is 35.00. This includes breakfast, but they may not tell you that.

My room was clean, had a bathroom with a shower (I never did figure out how to regulate the temperature so stuck with cold showers) a safe (mine didn’t work), air conditioning and a great balcony to watch the park. The prices for things like bottled water were high compared to what you paid in local stores. The hotel did not have a lot of staff. One chamber maid cleaned all the rooms and the hotel. She was great. The front desk staff could be called upon to wait on tables at the restaurant or cook. They tended to keep the main door locked because there was often no one at the front desk, just enter and exit through the restaurant. There was a computer in the front lobby, but we couldn’t use it because they didn’t have an internet card at the hotel.

We ate ice cream at the nearby Las Copas-well worth a visit and had great pizza at Milan Pizza (I think that was the name). Turn left at the Supermercado Casa Azul and follow the lovely colonial Vincente Garcia for a few blocks. The prices are in CUP and are really reasonable. The pizza was good and the staff extremely accommodating.

I enjoyed my stay in Las Tunas. It is not a tourist centre but there is a lot to see and do. The Hotel Cadillac was much better than I expected and I would stay there again.

This wasn't the first Cuban 3 star hotel we've stayed at, so we had a rough idea of what to expect and I'm happy to say this Hotel was much better than what we expected.

It is located in the middle of Las Tunas, in the downtown so to speak. The hotel from the outside doesn't look too bad. There is a small bar/snack area to the left of the entrance and a large plaza just across from the hotel. Also, a store and a piano bar are right near by.

Getting to the hotel is a bit tricky, as the road right in front is for bikes or walking only, which makes for an interesting bit of travelling around until you find the little parking area.

The hotel itself is good. It only has 8 rooms, which is perhaps why they take good care of the rooms. We ended up on the 3rd floor at the end of the hallway. The room felt like it had been recently (last year maybe) renovated. The bathroom was large and had a good shower. Lots of hot water, which liked to switch from just hot enough to scalding randomly through out the shower, almost like the water pump kicks in and feeds it too much hot water, then shuts off.
The beds were ok, not the best in the world, but clean and free of stains and insects and the room itself was nice and clean as well. The rooms even have a cute little terrace that you can sit on and watch people walking by below.

Overall, not a bad place to stay. The bar does play music during the day/evening but it shuts off right at midnight and even most of the people on the streets disappear by midnight as well (well this night they did).

If we happen to travel through Las Tunas again we'll be staying here.

We were very lucky to find this hotel. For Cuba, this is quite a modern hotel. The rooms are spotless and the staff are very helpful. It is ideally located, on the main square. It has a terrace bar, where you can watch the world go by. The breakfast was very good. The only drawback, like many hotels in Cuba, it has no lift. Do not believe what you read about Las Tunas, it is worth a visit.

Someone wrote about loud music late at night, that was certainly the case for our stay but it didn't bother us. A couple of drunks talked well into the morning, maybe 6am. Las Tunas is a fun city it had an excellent vibe. We ate at a little restaurant next to the Heladaria a street over and wow the food was great and inexpensive. The breakfast at Hotel Cadillac was also good. Beggars were annoying so we had to run away quickly after breakfast. It was a pleasant place to stay.

Lovely restored hotel on a main square with pedestrian streets, so we enjoyed sitting out on our balcony people watching. When we were hungry or thirsty, we could easily go down to the cafe downstairs or other places close by. Breakfast was included - we chose off the cafe menu .We originally just parked on a street but later in the day we could move our car to designated spots close to the front door. The room was an excellent size but next time I want to try the corner suite.

We stayed in this hotel in our recent visit to Las Tunas in February 2014. Although the hotel is small, has excellent brand new rooms, very clean and the staff is friendly. The manager Jose Daniel Martinez, went out of his way to please us. He helped us with a small issue we needed to resolve and made sure all was in the proper order. The hotel is located in the center of town and close to all the places one wants to visit. If you need to be in Las Tunas, this is the place to stay.
