Very clean and fresh, modern rooms that are well sized for Japanese hotels. The staff are super friendly and obliging and all spoke English, Chloe was of great assistance getting the most out of out time there. The tariff isn't cheap but the location is difficult to better at the price. Breakfast was fantastic compared to others we had whilst in Japan, plenty of it and the knew how to cook bacon and eggs and real toast. Lot's of food and drink choices close by the food trucks and Freddie's next door has amazing food.

We were a group of 7 skiers. The staff at the M Hotel in Niseko was incredible! Extremely helpful with everything. The location of the hotel can not be beat. Everything is within walking distance. The breakfast is a hearty one. Perfect before a day on the slopes. The rooms are small but designed very well for efficiency. There’s a place for everything. They offer lockers (free) in the basement for storage of skis, boots, helmets etc. I highly recommend this hotel and will book with them again on my return trip to Niseko!

I stayed at the M a few days after its opening. Its location is excellent, only few meters from a small shop, right in the town center. Rooms are very clean, though a little small. Overall a no-frill place to stay if you go skiing, but the hotel needs to fine tune its service and amenities to justify its price. Amongst the problems I noticed :

- the breakfast is too simple (scrambled eggs and ham?that's it???).
- there is no changing room. This should be a must have for any hotel used for skiing (it seems the staff was aware of this issue though, and offered to use their private rooms for us to change before getting back to the airport).
- The breakfast and the gym are in the same room (!), so you can get sweaty people running while having a coffee... or smelling the cooked ham while running....
- There is a useless game center on B1, with (I would guess) recycled old arcades. Not a single soul was using it during our stay. Why there was an arcade, but no changing room was very mysterious...
- The ski locker room is located in a strange area of the hotel (B1, quite far from the entrance).

I am sure many clients will immediately notice the various problems and tell the staff...

Take care that all bookings for this hotel are non-refundable. Most hotels offer a reduction in the full tariff if you make a non-refundable booking, but M Hotel charges full rates without offering any flexible arrangements. I found this out to my cost when a planned trip was cancelled due to family issues with my ski buddy. We wanted to reschedule the trip but by that time covid 19 worries in Japan dissuaded us.

It was a last minute pick but I'm so glad we stayed at M Hotel. The staff were very helpful and even being English speaking, there were no language difficulties. Our room was small but nice and modern and had everything we needed. The location is fine, you will have a 200m odd walk to the bottom of the family lift which we found was the best way to get onto the Ace Pair and get going. You have plenty of food options close to as you are more-so in the middle of things rather than being ski in ski out. There's plenty of action down the hill from the hotel and you're right across the road from the Seicomart which has all your convenience items covered. You're also close to Shiki hotel which was the only place in town to get money out from my Australian card.
Attached to the hotel is Monty's which at the time of writing had the best coffee in town. Shout out to Arthur! I hope they keep the beans he had put them onto when he moves on. Great pastries there too.
The hotel itself has two dry rooms for all your gear which is great. Breakfast is very simple but there is not a lot of options in town anyway and it'll be enough to get you up and running.
Hokkaido Travel hooked us up with our transfers to and from and I'd definitely recommend dealing with them too.
After staying at M I'd be hesitant to stay anywhere else now to be honest. We had a top experience there.

I stayed here for 8 nights in a standard room for a snowboard holiday and was surprised by how PERFECT it was. There was someone waiting to pick us up from the bus as we came off. The room was sorted out quick and easily. All the facilities were great. The 'queen bed' was actually 2 king singles put together so took up most of the room so there wasn't much space to walk around (not really an issue). Plenty of hot water. There is a heater in the room if you get cold. There is a hair dryer, toothbrush/razors and shampoo/conditioner etc.

BEST LOCATION (opposite 1 of the only supermarkets in town and the bus station) and only 2 mins walk to the ski lift plus and max 5 mins to all the good restaurants/bars. The room for your skis/snowboards are conveniently on the ground floor so you can leave your skis before you head up to your room (you can get a key to lock them or just leave them there) and the drying locker room is on the basement level which has plenty of room for 2 people (although could do with some shelves inside the lockers). Whenever we left our things in the locker overnight, they would be dry the next morning.

Buffet breakfast was excellent!!! Consisted of hot foods (sausage, eggs, bacon, noodles/rice, steamed veggies, hash browns), pastries (croissants, danishes, chocolate filled pastries etc), continental (cereals, yoghurt, bread that can be toasted), and you can request waffles, pancakes and fried eggs for free. There is also fruits and a variety of drinks (tea/coffee/juices). I always looked forward to the breakfast!

The staff are all very helpful. They called and booked massages for us when requested and made it really easy to get information about buses etc. The staff all have excellent english. The complimentary slippers are nice too!

Excellent value for money and would definitely come back

I stayed at M Hotel for a fortnight in January 2015 as a solo traveller. The hotel is excellent quality, my room was spacious and clean. The bed was firm and extremely comfortable. The service at this hotel is second to none, the staff are extremely friendly and always chatted with me whilst passing. The location is brilliant, right in the centre of hirafu, a very short walk to the lifts. The breakfast in the hotel is outstanding, freshly cooked and options for the chef to cook you eggs, pancakes etc. Opposite is a fabulous sushi deli and Thai restaurant, highly recommended. The supermarket is not even a minutes walk also. The staff are fantastic, many thanks to Jimmy, Miwa and to Kelly at reception, and the young Australian man in the breakfast restaurant. I have stayed in many establishments and cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. I will be booking in for next year ASAP!!! Thanks for such a great stay M Hotel, I had a fabulous time. Adrian H.

Stayed her for 2 weeks over March 2014. I have to say an excellent ski hotel for the following reasons:

1. Great location: to lifts, and bars/restaurants
2. Super friendly staff
3. Great facilities: ski room to leave your skis, laundry.
4. Excellent breakfasts: Serving things like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, cereal, pastries, pancakes etc.
5. Good room with massive shower and excellent water pressure
6. Good price

If anything only gripe was that the beds are very hard, but still overall rate this hotel 5 stars. I think for a ski hotel this is excellent value. So you can not go to far wrong here.

Stayed here for one week in January with my parents and brother. Several outstanding aspects that I thought should be mentioned:

Staff are extremely friendly, and all spoke English (either being native English speakers or fluent in English as a second language). There is a reception at the front desk and the staff were happy to organise taxi services or arrange restaurant bookings as needed. They tended to be a bit busy in the mornings as the reception staff are also in charge of making sure the breakfast buffet is always stocked, but were always smiling and happy to help in whatever way they could.

A Western style breakfast was served each morning from 7:15AM until 9:30AM. It was very basic style foods (cereals, toast, pastries, bulk scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon) but also did waffles and pancakes on request. I would say the majority of guests whilst I was staying were from Australia, so they supplied vegemite as well and catered towards a western palate. No Japanese style breakfast items at all such as rice or fish, but it didn't worry me as I was there for the skiing and not for the 'Japanese experience' of the hotel....if I wanted that there are hundreds of places in Japan where I can have a much more cultural stay.

The location is amazing! It is located just off the main Hirafu street and has restaurants all around it. Make sure you pre-book at most of the restaurants in the peak-season as you will otherwise find yourselves wandering from restaurant to restaurant in order to find a table. The M Hotel is located about 50 feet from Stop No. 1 on the Hirafu Shuttle route which takes you to the Hirafu Gondola and also the Hirafu Welcome Centre, both stops are where you can buy lift tickets. This meant we never the unfortunate experience of having to wait for the next bus, as it was always empty when it arrived at Stop 1. The bus starts at 08:30.

The rooms have everything you need for a ski trip. Beds are comfy, the heaters work well. There is no bath which is unfortunate if you like to have a long soak of sore muscles, but then you can always go to a nearby onsen for that. Hot water works well, although does intermittently have minor changes in temperature, but that is being picky. Also provided is a kettle, microwave and fridge. Lots of cabinets to put your gear. Our room had a connecting door to my parents room which was handy. Room cleaning gets done once every few days, and occurs in the afternoon which is good to know if you are wanting to have an afternoon nap. We didn't use the television at all so I don't know what that is like.

Altogether, a great hotel with an amazing location for a ski/snowboarding holiday. I have already decided to come back on my next snow holiday!

My husband and I stayed here for our very first ski trip to Hokkaido and were pleasantly surprised at how good this hotel was.

It's location is great - just next to the bus stop to get to the ski resort. The room was clean and spacious and cozy. It helped that the breakfast was good every day to fuel us for a whole day of skiing!

The staff were very helpful and cheerful, even though I was a tad grumpy cos I fell sick midway.

Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
