Detailed Reviews
The location of the apartment was superb. Right beside 2 ski schools and very close to the ski lift. The apartment was also very near to seicomart, hirafu 188 where you can go grocery shopping. Kids said that the apartment felt like their home. Room was well equipped with aluminium foils and kitchen wares needed to cook dinner. 👏👏👏

Great location beside Ace chairlift..
This is our 3rd time at Allen Ridge.
We had both 3 & 2 bedroom apartments -both very spacious well furnished clean and comfortable for 14 family members.
Convenient ski lockers in ground floor and has onsite ski rentals
Would return again but Niseko is now getting expensive due exchange rates

We were only supposed to stay one week but have extended to just over four weeks, feels like home away from home. We think it’s our new favourite place to stay in Hirafu. I’m almost a bit hesitant to post this because I don’t want people to know about it but the rating has been earned! Affordable and the location is unbeatable. This is truly ski-in ski-out. Not even 2 minutes from the lift. Intermediates may be annoyed about several lift connections to get to the top (especially on powder days the queues in Hirafu have become annoyingly long in the last few years). Positioned well, right in the centre of all the mountains, making it easy to get to all the other areas like Hanazona and Hilton side. No gondola so be prepared to brace the wind to get up. However, the location is still so worth it. Just steps from main Hirafu intersection, making it so easy to grab groceries or go to good restaurants. Kitchen is very well equipped. If you cook, you’ll know that having an oven is a GAME CHANGER. This really tops my reasons not to stay at other competitors. Front desk is friendly and helpful. Lockers are spacious. Not a lot of room to put on boots inside the locker room but they have two extra benches in the hall. NBS rental and ski school team at the lowest level were also excellent. Our child just walked downstairs for lessons every morning. This was such a relief as walking anywhere with a toddler in full ski gear with equipment is no joke. Housekeeping only comes every other day so the floor gets a bit dirty with children but they have a vacuum cleaner in the room ready to use at any time. The IKEA stool is SO handy with a child. Very thoughtful. We loved having a private snowy balcony all to ourselves.

Alpen Ridge is a great ski-in, ski-out place. It is located 50m away from the Ace Family Quad Lift and a 5 mins walk away from Hirafu Village town center. Our 1 bedroom unit is well appointed with all the basic necessities (washing machine, dryer, fully equipped kitchnette, full cutlery set, microwave/oven etc). Equipment, furniture and furnishings are well maintained. Couldn't ask for more in a service apartment. And oh, of course, there's strong WIFI.
Each unit has its own ski locker located in the basement of the building. And the basement connects directly to NBS (ski shop/school) and out to the slope! This is something greatly appreciated after a full day of skiing.
Front desk manned by SkiJapan personnel are friendly and helpful.
Things to take note of: units are installed with blinds, not curtains. Hence, there will be gaps between blinds. Blinds are not blackouts. Reception is located on 1st floor via steps from the road (basement is located at road level). Hence, take care when carrying luggage to reception during winter time. Alternatively, you can try asking reception to give you access from the basement.
Alpen Ridge is ideal for families and those who don't mind starting their ski day from the Ace Family Lift slopes.

This was our second time staying at Alpen Ridge and it was as excellent as the first time. If you're looking for a location slopeside that includes ski rental and school then this is it, the management team that run the property are excellent and should be commended for their attention to detail and overall helpfulness, my daughter broker her leg skiing towards the end of our trip and the whole Alpen Ridge team were always on hand to assist and help wherever they could during a tricky situation .
It's not cheap but you're paying for one of the best and well managed locations in Niseko, we are already looking forward to our trip next season!

The website advertises beautiful views, but the reality is that only some of the units have views at all; our unit looked out on an alley and another building. When I contacted the management to point out that we had booked far in advance and paid a lot of money for the unit based on the representation that all the units had views, they could not have been less accommodating: no partial refund, no acknowledgment that the website was deceptive (though I notice they have since altered the wording), not offer of a future discount. Literally nothing. It's a great location, but a terribly run and deceptive operation with no understanding of customer service. There are many better options in the area.

Our first family ski vacation was so amazing and fun and it was mostly due to Alepen Ridge apartment. The 2 bedroom immaculately clean, comfortable and well equipped apartment was just the right size for 5 of us. But what makes this place even better is its location. Above a skii school, next to a lift and in the centre dining/shopping area. Can’t wait to go back next year!

We stayed for a week in a one bedroom slope view apartment over the Chinese New Year. It was a last minute booking so we did not have much choice as it was the only room available through SkiJapan. I usually book my accommodation online but as this apartment does not have its own booking website, I had to book through the SkiJapan travel agent based in Hong Kong. The agent I got was very responsive and efficient but I would have preferred an online website where I could see the inventory on a day to day basis.
I was a little apprehensive initially as I was traveling with two teenagers and was worried that the apartment would be too small to accommodate 3. As it turned out, my worries were unfounded. We had apartment 302 which is a good size and with the sofa in the living room turned to a bed, we still had ample room to move about. The apartment is well furnished and comes with a fully equipped kitchen which includes a Miele microwave oven, a dish washer, electric kettle, gas as well as electric stove and a fridge. There is also a washing machine, a clothes dryer and a drying room for ski gears. Each apartment has its own ski locker in the basement. The locker is of a good size but it can get quite damp and wet and there being no electric outlet within the lockers, we had to haul our boots right up into the room to dry.
The location is superb. It is within walking distance to Seicomart, ski rentals, bakery and many restaurants. It is also a ski in ski out as the Ace family lift is just outside the apartment. One minor complaint is that this particular lift can get very very busy in the morning and queues can take up to 30 to 45 mins to load. The apartment is also located right above the Niseko Base ski school and rentals. We booked our lessons with them for the entire week but having used the ski school at Hilton Niseko Village over the Christmas period last year, we found the latter better organized and catered better to the different abilities and needs of skiers. The student to instructor ratio in the group lessons at Hilton was also significantly lower than that in the Niseko Base Snowsorts school. So, for the next season, we would be returning to Hirafu but would book our lessons with Hilton.
The ski shop at the Niseko Base carries very limited ski gears and wear. It would be wise to rent/ buy from the shops just outside the apartment or walk a bit further to the Rhythm.
Service wise, while the reception staff were always friendly, they were not exactly efficient nor falling over to help. Most were foreigners there for the season and did not know the area all that welI .I needed assistance on several issues like getting a Japanese speaking person to call the post office on my before, setting up for deliveries etc but the staff at the reception were not willing to help. In the end, I got the help I most needed from an accommodating receptionist and her superior from the service apartment next door called the Vale. As an Asian, I found the service standard at Alpen Ridge rather lacking, even by the standard of a service apartment.
The housekeeping team, on the other hand, were very efficient. They would come in daily for light cleaning and do a major clean up after the third day. This worked out very well for us.
The lack of an in-house Onsen is another shortcoming of this apartment. We did venture to the Onsen in the Vale, Prince as well as the Apine hotel nearby, but it would be nice to have an Onsen on site to enjoy after a long day on the slope.
All in all, we had a good stay mostly due to its locale but for first timers who could afford the luxury, the Vale next door may be a better bang for the bucks.

True ski in ski out accommodation. we ahd Apartment 101 which is on the first floor overlooking the ace family run and chairlift.. The lockers are on the ground floor right next to the NBS ski school and ski geat. hire place. There is also a coffee shop on that level which also overlooks the run. The apartment we had was 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom. The building was completed in September 2008 so everything is new and the apartment is very well appointed. There were 2 flat screen TVs, one in the lounge the other in the master bedroom. The channels were all Japanese apart from BBC. There was a cupboard which housed a washer and dryer which came in very useful as we are a family of 4. We booked through skijapan and the rates for the room included lift passes for all of us and transfers from Chitose airport. We bought breakfast provisions from Seicomart, which was only 5 minutes walk up the road. There was a variety of bento boxes there so we bought those and heated them up for lunch. In terms of grocery shopping, there selection was limited so a trip to Kutchan for better variety may be required. We were happy enough as we ate out most nights. Would recommend J Sekka across the mainstreet for coffee and lunch they did a brilliant Caulifower and blue cheese soup. Free internet there as well. The ramen shop behind Seicomart is brilliant. Huge serves, they make the noodles themselves onsite and best of all great value for money. Dinner at A Bu Cha 2 was also good but bit pricier.

Hi, Thank you for your query. You are correct, check out time is 10am however a late check out can be requested once you have arrived in resort at a fee of 5000yen per hour. We do not have black out curtains in the room, however the rooms are rather dark with our existing curtains so you will be able to have comfortable sleep.
Hi,
Thank you for your enquiry. Alpen Ridge is situated in the heart of Hirafu surrounded by restaurants and shops within walking distance making the location very convenient for you during your stay.
Kind regards
Yes they do a full clean (linen & bathroom) every 2-3 days but not daily. As its a self contained apartment it works really well.
