Unparalleled attention to guests! staff dropped and picked us from the resort and to Kutchan (for dinner and JR stn). Helped recommend a yummy Gosetsu tempura udon restaurant and made reservations. Helped with our Chitose train schedule. Great location for the new Honozano. 3-5 min drive from Honozano 308. Common area is warm and cozy with the Georgian decor and fireplace. Not a “hotel room” experience. Come if youre looking to experience Niseko through locals. Thanks Cliff for making our stay memorable and special

We booked a private room for 1 king as a last minute extension of our ski trip to be close to hanazono ski resort. The common living room area/lobby is extremely cosy with complimentary hot tea and coffee that can be enjoyed by the fireplace throughout the day. Super comforting after a cold day out. We also got to meet the owner Cliff who helped us get to and back from the resort, train and neighbouring Kutchan for dinner. The inn team are also extremely helpful in making reservations and travel arrangements, which made a big difference since the area is much less convenient than hirafu. Complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. They have standard toast and cereal laid out. as well as a hot dish of scrambled eggs, pancakes etc brought to you when youre ready to eat. There is a shared laundry machine, as well as some snow toys and boardgames. Overall had a lovely time here. I felt taken care of. Had a really good experience and human touch. Thanks.

Great to be together as a family for Christmas to ski. Not a 5 star swish lobby or seating area but warm and comfortable. The freely given help, advice and lifts in a 7 seater van made the stay relaxed and great fun. Cliff really excelled as a host.

Very nice and friendly staff that made my stay better. They provide shuttle to drive you around for dinner and also can help you plan your day. I liked the location. Its off on its own in a nice forest. But a 2 minutes shuttle (10 minutes walk) to the Hanazono lift. I found it very relaxing. They can also shuttle you around if you want to get out. Room is nice, I got a room with private bed room. Small but comfortable. Breakfast is ok, think of it more as complementary rather then a full breakfast. Sound insulation is not great, you can hear it when people and walking down the hallway.

We stayed here 6 years ago and it was a really positive experience so we decided to stay again. The service is excellent, all the staff go above and beyond to help you out with all things snow and non-snow related. We stayed in a western room with two king singles pushed together and a lovely outside view. The room and en-suite are quite basic but still useable. The only issue I had was the rock solid bed but that’s very common in japan. For location, they are a 10 min walk from Hanazono lifts and they run a bus back and forth each morning and afternoon. They also drive you to a local onsen in the evenings if you book in and out to different places in Kutchan-Cho and Hirafu for dinner. They had some excellent recommendations for food. So why only 4 stars? Two reasons. 1. When we booked, the email communication was excellent but they advised us due to the timing of the shuttle from Hirafu back to Sapporo (8am) drop off would be during their breakfast time so they could not do it. We were given the option of them calling us a taxi in the morning (taxis can often just not come) or a private transfer at $450 AUD. We took the private transfer given we are connecting to an international flight but when we arrived here staff advised they could do a breakfast time drop off....it would just cost us an extra ¥6000. I would have appreciated knowing about that beforehand to save myself a bunch of money on the private transfer. 2. Since the last time we stayed they have started running a service for xtravel groups from Sweden. I can see why they offer the service as it clearly works for their sort of accomodation but while we were here two different groups stayed and the second lot were jerks. Loud, inconsiderate, yelling in the hallways at 6am, staying up late and yelling good night in the hallways jerks. We choose this accomodation because it doesn’t have that element of drunken moron so commonly found in Hirafu and this was unfortunately a bit of a downside for us.

I visited the Freedom Inn with my 5 year old daughter in mid-January 2019. We had previously visited in 2017 and found it to be great value with friendly staff and easy access to the Hanazono Resort. Nothing has changed and we found it to be a terrific stay once again with very friendly staff, a good breakfast, clean and tidy rooms and just a two minute van ride to the Hanazono slopes and 308 building. The snow was excellent this year and with the drop-off and pick-up service from the Freedom Inn we were able to maximise our time in the snow, starting out at Hanazono each morning and being able to move across the various Niseko resorts through the day. In the evening it was great to soak in the large hot bath downstairs and venture into town to get food or do night skiing. Again, we found the staff very pleasant and only too keen to help us out with queries, bookings and general information. We would highly recommend Freedom Inn as a place to stay and hope to stay again in the future.

Had a wonderful 2 nights stay at freedom Inn. Jai and team were really helpful with the booking and the stay itself. It is a great place for kids as there is a small area just outside and props provided where the kids could slide and play with snow. It was no trouble for them to help arrange for free shuttle to kutchan for our meals. A very homely and comfortable stay for us all.

We had a fantastic 4 night stay at the Freedom Inn. Jai and the team were extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them, from booking restaurants to arranging transfers to the station. The hotel itself is only a few minutes drive to Hanazono 308, and they offer free shuttle buses to and from there every morning and afternoon. There aren't any restaurants within walking distance, so they recommended we eat at nearby Kutchan, away from the super-busy and more expensive Hirafu. And wow - we had some of our best meals in Japan there! Rooms were huge by Japanese standards and had everything we needed. A basic but nourishing breakfast is included in the room rate. If you don't really enjoy touristy party towns, and just want a quiet small hotel (only 16 rooms) with fantastic warm service, then the Freedom Inn is highly recommended.

Response from Niseko-Hanazono, Owner at Niseko Freedom Inn
Responded 25 Feb 2018
Hi, Tuan, We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. The no restaurants within walking distance "issue" will change from December 2019 when the new Park Hyatt opens a few hundred meters away and Freedom Inn is planning its own soup, stew and hotpot restaurant to service our guests, their guests and the locally growing community. We will also encourage our guests to continue to enjoy the local wonders in Kutchan and even the resort-y wonders in Hirafu. 2018-2019 will be probably the last season to enjoy the true seclusion to which our little Inn is currently privileged. We hope to see you back again! Best regards, Cliff

I came here with my family for a 3-day ski trip. The staff were extremely friendly and quickly helped us settle in. Even though most of the staff are people from Europe like Ireland and England, they can communicate with Japanese tourists well. This cozy little inn was in fact converted from a bungalow and I spent my free time shoveling out the front porch. Freedom Inn was located just a 5 minute walk away from Hanazono 308 skiing slope. There are shuttle vans everyday from 8:30-9:30am to Hanazono and 4:00-5:00pm back to the hotel. In the evenings when you need to enjoy, just hop along to Weiss Hotel (again, by the shuttle) to enjoy the Japanese Onsen. Furthermore, you get half price once you tell the front desk that you stay in Freedom Inn! Cliff, the owner, always has recommendations of dinner for you! He mostly recommends small restaurants in the local town of Kutchan which are cheaper and better than the more expensive restaurants in the touristy Hirafu. In the mornings when you wake up, once you glance outside the window, there'll be snow everywhere for you to see, on the trees, the windows, the front porch and the roads. I'll definitely come back next winter to stay again in this lovely inn. Also, I told Cliff that I'll come back when I'm 18 to shovel out the front porch!
