Detailed Reviews
well... the trip was nothing short of AMAZING. Jenna Jay made my trip easy and fun. She went the extra mile (literally) and drove me all the way to Moiwa from Niseko one day, because I missed the bus - what a champion!
As for the location, its right in the centre of town, exactly where you want to be.
And the beds are comfortable, rooms are clean and tidy.

My friend and I had the pleasure of staying at Moorea Lodge for a week in February while we shredded Niseko's powder. This lodge really was a terrific retreat after a long day on the slopes, with a warm friendly atmosphere made possible by hosts Tash and Andre.
Logistically, the lodge was ideal as there was a shuttle service operating every 15 minutes from 8am-9pm just outside the front door which took us and our gear up to (and back from) the main gondola lift of Niseko's mountain - a real lifesaver when you're gassed from a hard day on the slopes.
Finally, the lodge is for everyone. There were people of all ages from a variety of countries, which gave the lodge a very communal feel.

I'll start with the bad things first
- bed was too soft for my standard
Ok I'll start with the things that I really appreciate:
- the host was extremely helpful and friendly. He answered all my questions to the best of his knowledge (his English may not be that fluent but it is already very good in Japanese standard!)
- great breakfast
- very nice decorations in the house
- lots of comic books
- two hot baths working round the clock
We chose Pension Moorea as it was included in our tour package. I do recommend Pension Moorea to you - unless you can't stand with soft bed.

Solo traveller headed to Japan for the first time.
Objective stuff first up,
The lodge is perfectly located in middle hirafu, all the shops, bars and onsens are walkable. The free Resort bus stops literally outside the front of the lodge if you don't fancy walking too. There's a ski lift 5 minutes walk away and if you fancy getting to the main lifts before the bus starts running to get first tracks it's 15 minutes on foot. You could literally crawl home from most of the bars.
I was in a shared 5 person room, the beds were comfy, the room was toasty warm, hoovered and cleaned everyday, everyone had a plug near their bed, plenty of storage under the bed, fresh sheets and towel every 6 days or so.
The living room is cosy and every evening was a great place for everyone to get together, tea and coffee permanently available, big fridges if you want to keep some beers or food. Toaster and microwave there if you want to keep it cheap. To and console if you're into that. Boot room has heaters firing away all day and night with another drying room for laundry and outer gear.
The bathrooms in the basement are a Japanese style communal shower type affair but in 3 weeks I was there there were never two of us at the same time.
I was picked up from Kutchan train station on arrival. The lodge will also meet guests at the resort main bus terminus (they also offered to arrange bus tickets if required I just fancied taking the train). Basically get yourself to chitose airport and they'll do the rest!
Despite the size of the lodge (max around 40ish guests I think) it's really chilled and everyone was respectful of noise for those who wanted to go to bed at a reasonable hour.
(I was there in off season so no breakfast)
But subjectively,
The stars of the show are the management and staff, run by Andres and Tash. From my first enquiries via email to saying goodbye they could not have been more hospitable, welcoming and professional. Tash was really helpful with my endless enquiries to do with couriering my kit back to UK and from the moment I arrived there was nothing they didn't do to make me feel at home. From suggesting guides/trips to other resorts/local knowledge/restaurants/nights out they had it all covered. They knew everyone's name in the lodge (not easy with so many in and out so frequently!) and made massive efforts to get everyone interacting in the evenings or linking up to head up the mountain together. Andres is so outgoing it's impossible not to get caught up In his enthusiasm for the snow and the resort. Even when I misunderstood part of the booking confirmation they sorted something out for me which was way beyond what I could have asked for (I won't say what as everyone would do it...). I've stayed in a lot of ski hostels, chalets and hotels but the level of personal and personalised service was better than any five star alpine resort.
I've no doubt Moorea would still be epic with other management but they really put the cherry on top and I hope they're there again if I ever get to make it out to Niseko again!

Picked me up, gave me all the info I needed about the town and mountain, played games in the evenings, gave me a spare sheet when asked, friendly service, booked things for me, dropped me at the bus stop out. 10/10, would recommend.

Love the location and the staff. The price is great for anyone on a budget that wants to walk to everything and not spend all your loot in one night. The staff knows all the ins and outs and is super friendly. I have been staying there for years.

Fantastic service from Jennifer, Ryan and Kylie; they made staying at Moorea Lodge incredible! I was made to feel very much at home, a real bonus when travelling solo.
I booked this fairly last minute, but was very happy with my choice. The location was great, close to the Ace Family lift, ski rental shops and restaurants. The lodge was very clean and comfortable.

After nearly two days in transit from Melbourne, the staff instantly made me feel welcome and helped me find my feet in Niseko. The experience only improved from then on, and after two weeks I was legitimately sad to leave what had become my second home.
The culture of the lodge is very social and interaction between guests is encouraged in the large common area. Staying in a twin share room with a friend also provided a private place for rest and recuperation from the Niseko life when needed.
The complimentary breakfast is an exceptional way to start every day and the staff were always willing to go above and beyond to help out any of the guests in any way they can.
My trip would not have been the same without the friends I made at Moorea lodge. Without a doubt I will stay there again next time I visit Niseko!

The staff made this place a pleasure to stay at. Whether it be tips for the best places on the mountain to check out, places to go in town or even ski instruction they could not have been more helpful. Also very friendly, often greeting you with a hot chocolate or mulled wine after a long day on the slopes. They even took us out for a drink! The lodge itself is in a great location, right in the centre of town making it close to everything - across the road from "The Barn", on the same street as many great restaurants and just down the hill from the supermarket. With the local shuttle bus stopping literally at the door step it makes getting to the slopes in ski boots easy as there is almost no walking required. It's not the fanciest place in town, but if you are looking for great value, homely, lodge accommodation this is for you.

Both male and female have their own bathroom. The male one is an open room with four shower heads, communal with no screens.
I think some of the smaller rooms had their own facilities but not sure.
Yes there is excellent and free WiFi.

"Add a room category of late night and early sleepers? There were a couple nights when I got home from night skiing and getting food and then had to pack for touring the next day and my roommates were asleep making it really hard to be quiet and pack in the dark.
