It's a nice comfortable ryokan that comes with your own private hot spring. This is great for those who are not used to using a public bath/ hot spring.

Tips: If you like nice Japanese meal (dinner), remember to make your booking using the Japanese version of its official website. If you don't understand Japanese, open its site with Chrome and let Google translate to help you (this is how I booked my room and meal). Personally, I am glad that I have booked through its official Japanese website together with the dinner. It was really delicious.

I had a one night stay at this hotel with family. The service was good and we enjoyed the full course of dinner and breakfast. There are two private onsens in our room, one indoor and one outdoor. My 6 years old and I enjoyed the outside one more! Though there was no mountain view like the others hotel nearby offer, I could still see the star-lit sky and hear the sound of trains passing by.
The location of the hotel is a bit hard to reach if you are driving there since it was located on the slope of a hill away from the main road.I was told that there are only 8 rooms in this hotel. There's slso a public onsen there but I hadn't tried it. If you want privacy, this can be one of your choices of onsen hotel.

We’ve stayed 2 nights Kaze no mori (風の森) for celebrating my wedding day. Although we could request pick-up service, we choose walking to enjoy the sight. It took 10 minutes from Yufuin station to Ryokan. Around view of Ryokan was not beautiful, but inside was wonderful. There is no reason to go out.

Most important things to select this Ryokan for us was “private onsen”, and our choice was as perfect. They used natural onsen water, and it contained numerous bicarbonate salt. As you might know, bicarbonate hot spring is beneficial for cardiovascular diseases and neurological problems but it is very rare even in the world. The size of private onsen is not huge but it is enough for two adults and one or two kids.

The Kaiseki meals were served not in the room but in the dining space, but they divided into several district for privacy. We were deeply impressed about their policy of the meals. They have cultivated a kind of vegetables and mushrooms in their own farm. Taste? Sure as shooting.

Even though their English saying was not fluent, but we can discuss with each other in English. Especially a general manager, Miho Shimada, tried to show the Korean by use of translator app. It was gorgeous Ryokan, I and my wife decided to visited annually. I strongly recommend this Ryokan, Kaze no mori (風の森).

I stayed here with my parents for a night.
This ryokan is located in the south from the station and it is particularly  famous for its beauty onsen along with shoyanoyakata(another ryokan famous for onset in yufu).
From the yufu station, we took a taxi to get here and it costed us around 800yen. The staffs were very friendly and their service was the best!
The kaiseki meal was very delicious (some dishes were fusion japanese from my standard). The meals were not prepared in the guest room but were prepared in a private dining space so we could have our own time to enjoy the meal.
Although the location was far from the main attraction street, we were able to fully enjoy yufuin and the traditional ryokan experience since yufuin was really small town.
They also have a beautiful public bath; I went there before dinner, after dinner, and in the morning.
When you are checking out, you can ask them to drop off to the station for free(pick up is also available but I did not know that at the time).

The food and room were both very good.
The staff were very polite and I had a comfortable stay.
The bed was low, so all you had to do was sit on it,
but I thought it would have been better if there was a sofa with a backrest and a table.
The hot spring water was the best, and very smooth.
There was an outdoor jacuzzi bath and an indoor cypress bath.
The weather was good and at night the sky was filled with stars,
and you could see Orion and Pegasus,
which was amazing.
I'd like to try a different room again.
Thank you for your hospitality.
