Really lovely staff, really accommodating! Room is a decent size and has all amenities. Only down fall of location is parking, we have a small SUV and couldn’t get it down the small road leading to the hotel so we parked over the road (literally a 45 second walk). The restaurant is absolutely amazing (see pics). Staff were lovely and spoke great English. They don’t sell wine by the glass but this may be a French thing. Overall great hotel, great price, amazing food, would stay again. (Just an FYI we stayed for 1 night as a stop off for our road trip, had dinner and then found a bar a 2 min walk away. Defo try the blonde beer there it’s brewed locally and we bought 4 bottles to take home)

On our way from Alicante to Nice stopped off at this charming place. Although hidden away in the lovely old town it is really very near the autoroute. The warmest of welcomes, good food on their terrace overlooking the town and beyond and a spotless and well appointed bedroom. I couldn't ask for more except perhaps another night or so before continuing our journey. First class.

A wonderful boutique hotel situated in a lovely location with a friendly staff. Clean and friendly with fantastic views. Quiet location and ideal for long hikes in the countryside. Parking is convenient outside of the hotel with several restaurants and wine bars within easy walking. The hotels kitchen is very good. I would recommend staying at this hotel without any reservations.

I was there for 2 nights at the end of August, between the August and September holiday makers so the hotel was quiet but the restaurant was full for lunch and dinner. Service is good and prompt. Great food, difficult to choose, I would say my favorite was a dessert, the chocolate sphere.... The owners are very hospitable and always available to make your stay comfortable, staff as well. The rooms are neat, spotless and comfortable.Cara Sol is a good compromise in terms of location: 15-minute drive from the beach, half hour from the mountains but away from the crowds, very peaceful and quiet. You can have your dose of busy beach front and go back to the hotel in no time for a nap or a restful night. Its location in the old part of Elne gives it a lot of character, I enjoyed a lot taking a walk in the old village at sunset. Definitely a good balance between price, quality, location and quietness. I wish I could have stayed more, I will go back for sure.

I have just spent four nights at this hotel and I feel impelled to write a review. From the moment I set foot in the hotel, the care and ambience were apparent. Matt did the registration and he was warm, funny and informative. This continued throughout my stay - nothing was too much trouble and Matt and his partner Estelle (not forgetting his whole team whose names I didn't know). It's lovely to just relax in a hotel with the wonderful views of the mountains when you look out of the huge windows. There was one incident which I believe was motivated by prejudice and racism in the restaurant at lunchtime - two diners (not residents thankfully) basically had a disproportionate verbal attack on me - the latter telling me to F*** O** from the restaurant ! This couple were very much the exception to the rule and I want to point out that other customers were just lovely. I was intimidated and very upset - I told Matt what had happened and he one apologised profusely and then to lift my mood - he brought some fabulous music from Senegal - which lifted my spirits greatly - I am not blaming this beautiful hotel for this - but the reassurance, kindness Matt and later Estelle gave me was valued beyond rubies. The food was fresh, well prepared and lovely to eat. I had breakfast everyday, one or two lunches and three dinners - to evidence the care and solicitude of the Cara Sol - I have complicated dietary needs - from day one I explained this to Matt and Estelle (no bread, croissants, baguettes etc.,) and in response they boiled eggs for me much appreciated. Cleanliness, facilities excellent but most of all the care and ambience created by Matt and Estelle's management spread out to their team. Would definitely without question recommend. Thank you
