Walking through the front door of this wonderfully grand & welcoming country house, a big inner ‘this is great!’ welled up in my body. As the venue for 12 of us on retreat in chilly March it really was perfect in every way. Warm, sumptuous rooms, idyllic countryside setting, fabulous food & exceptional service from Nancy & co made it all an utter delight & we’ll definitely be back for more!
Superb in every way. From booking to departure exemplary customer service. Accommodation, ambiance and food all excellent. A gem that should not be missed. Nothing comparable in the area. A stellar example of what hospitality should be like.
This is hands down one of my favourite places to stay. Whether you are looking for a relaxing break or a location to meet and work from I cannot recommend this venue highly enough. Nancy is an authentic and exceptional host and you’ll be made to feel genuinely at home. Nothing is too much trouble. I’ll be returning as soon as I can!
It definitely felt as if we were incredibly well looked after here, but also part of a family home, albeit the part without the family! We were made to feel at home. If we'd had more time we would have taken up offers of cake and coffee by the fire, and in the summer Im sure the garden is gorgeous. Nancy is a wonderful hostess. We really enjoyed breakfast (DELICIOUS) at the large kitchen table. Nancy even gave us some supplies for our day ahead. Couldn't have been happier and really do highly recommend. Thank you!
This is a lovely place. Very comfortable. Everything you could possibly need in a peaceful setting. I took my sales team here for an away day. Beautiful rooms, cosy beds. The owners are very nice people and made us all feel so welcome and special. Not to mention the amazing breakfast and lunches we had.
A group of us stayed here for a team meeting, we stayed over night and used one of the large rooms downstairs for presentations etc. Nancy and the team were excellent hosts and they prepared wonderful food for breakfast and lunch and made sure we never went without coffee and freshly baked goods! The bedrooms are lovely and spacious with a nice clean bathroom. Would definitely recommend staying here.
We had a lovely stay at Overtown manor. The rooms were decorated lovely, comfortable and of very good standard. We were greeted by the host Nancy with tea and homemade cake in the drawing room next to a roaring fire. Amazing! We were made to feel at home straight away and Nancy couldn’t do enough for you. She was helpful from the initial booking but continued to be a perfect host throughout our stay. Breakfast was incredible, local foods and plenty of choice. What a delight to have freshly homemade banana loaf to finish off a delicious English breakfast. The walks from the manor were brilliant and idyllic. Pubs/restaurants in walking distance and plenty to do in the area. If you are looking for a relaxing country break this is the place for you!
This past weekend I was fortunate enough to stay here for two nights bed and breakfast, with my husband, as my Mother's Day treat, and indeed what a treat it was!! This hotel is very special: comfortable, stylish and well furnished with the wonderful added bonus of a top rate cooked breakfast. The grounds and garden are quite lovely. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The official post-Covid re-opening is Friday 1st April and I do hope I can find another special occasion/reason to be back there very soon. Well done Nancy and Percy!
The whole place makes you feel like you’ve arrived to stay at a much loved relatives family home. The main house is on a working farm and the manor is beautiful, old and rambling with lots of original features. Visiting for a business meeting, we could not have been made to feel more welcome. Lunch was taken at a huge farmhouse kitchen table and was all freshly cooked and locally sourced. Everything eaten across the two days was delicious. Colleagues who stayed also praised the comfortable and stylish rooms, tasty dinner and breakfast. Tucked away, this is indeed a gem and run with dedication, care and joy.
There are very few hotels in the world I re-visit, however this genuine gem of a place is one of the few. Nancy and her team have created an exceptional space full of warmth, incredible food and good humour. They take you in like you are one of the family, where nothing feels like it is too much trouble. They've given me lifts, wellies and advice all in one stay. If they'd have me I'd move in permanently.
