The Ikos Resort on Mallorca was our first stay in one of these resorts. A friend recommended the Ikos Resorts to us and we were impressed from the very first moment by the location, the service, the friendliness and the facility as a whole. Even the transfer from the airport to the resort and back was more than good. A very modern Mercedes with a friendly driver and no stopovers. Our suitcases were brought to our room and despite arriving late (9:30 p.m.) we were still able to eat in the Market, the buffet restaurant.

There is something for everyone in the 6 restaurants. If you prefer a buffet you can go to the Market in the morning, at lunchtime or in the evening and if you prefer to be served you can use the other restaurants. Tip: Make sure you book dinner well in advance of your arrival, as the service restaurants on site are already fully booked at popular times.

We were particularly impressed by the Seasons and the Anaya, but the breakfast and dinner at Olivia were also excellent. We had breakfast at Fresco once, which we personally didn't like so much.

Anyone expecting a large sandy beach would be a little disappointed, but the small bay with the large tree is one of the insider tips on Mallorca and you can swim there wonderfully and enjoy a great atmosphere. The loungers are free for resort guests, but you shouldn't have breakfast too late, otherwise they'll all be taken. Unfortunately, the rule that you can only use the loungers for a maximum of 1 hour was never actually enforced. It should generally not be allowed to reserve loungers for yourself before breakfast with, for example, sun cream or a book. Several guests and larger families shamelessly took advantage of this every day and we found that a little unpleasant for a 5-star resort.
We never actually went to the pools, but there are enough of them and there is also one just for adults, which at least those who are traveling without children and like it to be very quiet need. It is a very popular place for families with children, because they are clearly in the majority there.
The price-performance ratio is right, even if you pay a lot for the deluxe rooms with the additional services. But if you can rent a Tesla for a day for free, have all drinks in bars, restaurants and minibars for free and can eat out at almost any time of the day or order food to your room, rent a paddle board, get two back massages for free and, if you don't necessarily want to walk, are taken to any place in the very spacious grounds by very friendly drivers with golf carts, then you feel very comfortable. Our room was very well located, just a few steps away from the small bathing bay where we always lay and enjoyed excellent service with drinks and small snacks.
The complex was in top condition overall, as it was renovated in the summer of 2023 for over 140 million euros. The hotel is not a new building, but was previously the "Blau Hotel Resort & Spa" and was bought by the Ikos chain. Overall, we can highly recommend the hotel for "all inclusive" lovers of the upscale class.

We spent a full day at Ikos Porto Petro and was definitely worth it. From the location of the resort, to the amazing friendly staff, everything was perfect. We arrived in the morning at the resort to spend a day full of joy and happiness. The food at the beach was beyond perfect, along with the service and the general vibes of the location. The beach was crystal clear and one of the best beaches we've been during our trip to the island. Moreover, the drivers around the resort were ready to accommodate every need we had in order to move from one location to another. Last but not least, I could not highlight how polite and kind was Thanos Poursalidis (correct me if I am wrong). He made our experience to be unforgettable with giving us information about all the amenities the resort has to provide. If I had to describe my visit to the resort with one word, I would say OUTSTANDING.

Although this review is late, our stay at the hotel in summer 2023 was truly wonderful. Despite only recently opening, the hotel operated smoothly and exceeded our expectations. As previous visitors to other Ikos resorts, we were impressed by the fantastic food, amenities, and overall cleanliness of the resort. The location in the bay was stunning, although we found the beaches to be less impressive than others on the island.

As a family of four, we opted for a family suite for the convenience of two bathrooms and beds for everyone. It’s worth noting that despite the higher cost of this room type compared to some 'Deluxe' rooms, the suite does not come with the benefits of the ‘Deluxe’ room category, which is disappointing. Others who have stayed mentioned this to us also. This is something we suggest Ikos review and address in the future.

Despite this drawback, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already looking forward to returning in July this year.

I would like to prefix this by saying this is a comparison of our experience in this hotel vs other stays at Ikos/Sani resorts. We were there for 12 days as a family of 3 (5yo) and we booked a junior deluxe suite.

The good:

1) Amazing service both at the pool and the beach, despite the constant heat staff went out of their way to help you in any way they could. Anything we asked- whether is room service, laundry, cleaning of room- was dealt with promptly.

2) We were checked in and into our room an hour before scheduled. The room was large and airy and provided us with all modern amenities we could wish for.

3) We were given access to a tesla for the day and we had a chance to explore nearby parts of the island.

4) Overall food quality was good.

Where it could improve:

1) We struggled to get dinner reservations in any of the 5 restaurants available (even the deluxe seasons restaurant). Despite trying several days ahead we were offered limited time slots and that was after having to chase our concierge on whatsapp.

2) Children events are held 3 days a week (believe its monday/wednesday and saturday), the shows are always the same. So i wouldn't recommend for longer stays.

3) the resort is quite hilly, despite being offered bikes (my 5yo took it but hardly used it) and buggy service being fairly regular, I wouldn't recommend it for parents with young children.

4) The hotel has 2 beaches, both have public access, but they were fairly rocky. Staff tried their best to keep it clean and remove the rocks but other Ikos/Sani resorts have much better beaches.

Overall, whilst we had a good time and service was good I don't think we will be returning especially as other Ikos/Sani resorts offer you more for the same price.

This was our first family holiday. We have an 11 month old baby and it was just amazing!

Firstly, we got picked up by a private IKOA transfer. A lovely vehicle and driver. It’s roughly 45 minutes to the resort. When we turned up we were just blown away! First look was just beautiful!

We were greeted by the most friendly staff and sat down for a drink with the fantastic view with some bubbles whilst we were spoken through everything.

We chose to stay in a Duluxe swim up which we were very happy with and would chose this again and any of the duluxe rooms around it as the location was Perfect. Next to reception and near the buffet which we found ideal for our baby!

We spent majority of our time around the duluxe pool where we were looked after by lots of lovely members of staff severing us drinks and the towel men doing a great job bringing fresh towels and offering to clean sun glasses everyday. One particular member of staff who looked after us everyday of our holiday was Janka. She was just fab and was amazing with our little girl.

We were looked after all week by our concierge Anastasia who was just the best. We had a WhatsApp group where we had any questions answered and we were checked up upon regularly during the week to make sure our stay was how we wanted it to be.
She went above and beyond to help us look for a certain baby milk in her own time as we couldn’t find any anywhere.
We were sent a daily schedule everyday. We just can fault her or any of the staff.

There are golf buggies constantly driving around for ‘taxis’ around the hotel as it’s a fair walk from one end to the other. For us the walk was pleasant but we did use this sometimes after food! Haha

The big thing for us about this holiday was that it was always kept clean, the food was lovely and the staff were even better. For our first family holiday and being nervous about it, it was just the best! Better than expected!

We loved it so much that we will be back! We’ve already looked into it for next year!

If you’re thinking of coming here, you should, you won’t be disappointed. Well we weren’t!

This is our second stay at an Ikos resort. We visited Dassia last year in July and had a wonderful time, so as soon as Porto Petro became available we booked right away. We have not been disappointed, it has the same ikos feel just set on the beautiful island of Majorca. The staff are all so attentive and make you feel special.

We have an excellent room, we booked a superior double with partial garden/sea view room but we were rewarded by a beautiful view and full views of the cove.

Pools are great and the attendants around the pool are the right level of attentive especially Lola who looked after us at the central pool. They don’t bother you if you’re sleeping or relaxing but seem to know just the right time to ask if you want a refill.

The restaurants have been wonderful as they were in dassia. The added benefit of Porto petro is there is weekly specials which didn’t feature at Dassia. We had fillet steak one night, swordfish the next. We felt very looked after.

The maitre d’ at fresco fenia who greats you every morning and lunchtime with a smile and she is always full of energy and remembers us and our room number which is a lovely touch. Pantelis who is also at Fresco goes above and beyond and knows his stuff when it comes to food and wine. We felt spoilt by him.

Dimitris and the guys at the beach club restaurant work very hard to make sure we are looked after when we pop in for lunch.

Andile made us feel very welcome when we arrived and chatted to us this evening and asked how our experience has been. It’s nice to see staff genuinely care about your experience and want you to have a great holiday.

Athena and Elena looked after us very well in Oliva the food was amazing. The breakfast is also great and Flori was on hand to look after us at breakfast.

The only downfalls are that there aren’t really any beaches, just 2 public beaches which you can acces and are more like coves. The resort is also vast, so you often need to get a buggy if going from one end to the other. We are quite happy walking around and didn’t find it too much of a hassle. However, the times we did try and get Buggies it was quite difficult and slow. We waited 25 minutes for our cases to be collected when we were checking out and in the end we waved someone down and waited by the side of the path. Spiros was one of the buggy drivers and he was excellent, very talkative and informative and a credit to Ikos!

Overall the stay was amazing, typical Ikos hospitality in a lovely setting on a really relaxed island.

Wow!

This is a proper luxurious all-inclusive European Hotel. The setting is beautiful on the South Eastern Mallorca coast, with 6 lovely on-site restaurants and great facilities, including lots of pools, gym (outdoor and indoor), bikes, other sports (such as tennis and table tennis, etc), spa, kids and teen clubs, live music around the resort and evening entertainment at the theatre and lots, lots more.

We liked how the resort was spread out along the coast line (with the option to get around via taxi caddy cars) as this meant that no where ever felt crowded. We often walked around the resort and enjoyed the chance to stretch our legs, although occasionally the heat meant it was preferable to hitch a ride on a caddy car.

The complementary day out with a Tesla was a real treat, having never driven one. It's a fantastic way to explore some of the island.

However the thing that sets this hotel apart is the staff. We were blessed and enjoyed amazing service. In particular :

Elena, the Food & Beverage Manager, was looking after us before we had even arrived at the hotel. Our eldest daughter has many allergies. She is allergic to dairy, wheat, soya and nuts. Elena was in touch with us prior to the holiday so that we could let her know what types of food our daughter enjoys. Elena then ensured that for each meal, our daughter had delicious food, that was safe for her to eat, including many special treats, such as amazing, beautiful desserts, prepared especially by the pastry chef.

Mariza, hostess in the Fresco (Italian) Restaurant, looked after us so well. We ate in this Restaurant many times and Mariza quickly learned of our eldest daughter's allergies and always made us feel like nothing was too much trouble, as well as being incredibly friendly and approachable. Nikko, the head chef in Fresco prepared delicious food throughout, but particularly for our eldest daughter, due to her special dietary needs.

Eva looked after us beautifully at "The Market", the main (buffet) restaurant, where we ate all of our breakfasts and had several evening meals, as did George, one of the chefs in that restaurant, particularly how he looked after our eldest daughter's food on each occasion.

Manos, greated us upon arrival at reception and bode us farewell. He explained all of the wonderful facilities on site and again, nothing was too much trouble (a theme throughout our stay)

We spent most days at the 3 Sa Torre Pools, where there were always sunbeds available and we also managed to have a cabana for the day on 4 or 5 days. There is a waiter / waitress service whilst you are chilling at the pool, so you never want for anything. We loved throwing a ball around in the pools (whereas other hotels we have stayed at don't let you do this)

If you are searching for a luxury holiday in Europe, this a great option. We will definitely be exploring some of the other Ikos resorts across Europe but will be back to Porto Petro too.

This new ikos is nearly as good as the brochure. They only opened a few months ago but most of it works really well to make a relaxing pool holiday in the sun.

The all inclusive is generous with quality food and wines and staff that bend over backwards to help with anything you need. For example many wines score 4.0 on Vivino. A wide range of restaurants for all tastes and even the food market buffet has excellent fair on offer. They clearly have talented chefs and in particular a great pastry head chef as well. There are only minor teething troubles with the room and systems of operation but the pluses are very strong. Warm private pool in our suite and fantastic poolside service of all day food and drinks from friendly staff.

The negatives are not easily fixed as the two cove beeches are not particularly clean or attractive and the resort is split into two ends. The deluxe end with most restaurants had beautiful views across the harbour and the other end is more crowded. The most expensive bungalows are trapped in the middle and I understand they are working to get them their own kitchens to relive pressure on room service. I would not have paid the premium for a bungalow at this time.

The Tesla drive experience is useful to see local coves and fishing ports (and try a top end electric car!) but the hotel is a bit of an oasis of luxury in a desert of old Mallorca. So it’s nice to get back to ikos.

The hotel looks great for family with young children and grandparents in tow. But the music played in the bar at lunch time might grate with baby boomers! And do bring tons of mosquito repellent for the evenings!!

Honestly it’s hard to fault anything about the resort. I can understand why most reviews are 5 star. We did have a nice time but having tried quite a few 5 star resorts there is something vanilla about ikos and they need a consultant artist/designer to wave a wand over it.

I think on reflection we will try another ikos in a more established old historical town setting in Greece before deciding if this is for us long term.

My fiancee and I loved our time at Ikos Porto Petro. It is such a great space to relax and unstress.

What makes Ikos special, above all else, is the service and staff. The people there are wonderful and kind. They go many extra miles to make the stay feel perfect - anytime we requested something, they delivered very quickly. We were greeted by Sara, who was our main contact whenever we needed anything. She was lovely throughout. Other staff who made our visit great include Natalia, Emmanuel, Esteban and Michael at the restaurants and bars, and Isaac and Joseph (Yoseph?) at the buggy service. Each of these people, and others, greatly contributed to our experience through their care and conversation.

The resort is absolutely beautiful. The resort is large, but there are carts constantly running through the main path which makes getting around extremely easy. I have a walking disability but the large size of the resort posed no issues for this reason. In fact, we enjoyed the variety of locations.

The food is fantastic. The menus of the five restaurants deliver classic dishes executed extremely well. Some of the best chicken I have ever had came from Ikos. Further to this, the variety had me trying new dishes which was a great experience. The mixed drinks and wine are also very good.

The room was likewise great. Returning after a day out to an immaculately clean, cool room (with a restocked and complementary mini bar) was always a treat.

It is true that the beach is not as large as other locations, but there are a number of pools to make up for this. You'll never have trouble finding a sunbed (and drinks once you have one).

This was our second Ikos visit (first at Oceania) and we already are thinking about a third. Thanks to the Ikos staff for all their hard work!
