Link House is a late Victorian Country Guest House, situated on the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake, near the Cumbrian towns of Keswick and Cockermouth, with stunning views of both forests and fells. Traditionally built in the late Victorian age, this country house enjoys stunning views of the forest and surrounding fells including Skiddaw. The sunny aspect gives a warm and comfortable atmosphere in which to relax and feel at home. We are situated almost half-way between the towns of Keswick and Cockermouth, birthplace of William Wordsworth and the oldest town in Cumbria, just off the A66 at the northern tip of Bassenthwaite Lake. Link House is easy to find. In the quieter part of the Lake District National Park, yet with access to many interesting places to visit such as the Whinlatter Visitor Centre where the Ospreys who nest nearby each year, can be viewed. A peaceful location for the serious walker or for touring by car or bike. We also have a guest lounge for guests to enjoy.

Me and my partner were staying for a nearby wedding, I can't begin to say enough about how good this stay was. From the moment we walked through the door Peter and Katie were nothing but welcoming and hospitable. We were provided with tea and mince pies on arrival, Peter also recommended some walks in the area as this was something we were looking to do over the weekend. On top of that we asked if there was somewhere we could pick up a bottle of wine, he told us where we could get one and furthermore offered us a bottle from what they already had. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Due to covid, you are provided with a menu to pre order your breakfast, there is a large selection, again this was fantastic and the views that come with it from the bay window flawless. On the day after the wedding we had left our car at Armathwaite Hall and Peter offered to take us up there, something that he didn't need to offer but was greatly appreciated even though we declined as we needed the walk. All in all this was one of the best stays we've ever had and we would recommend anyone going to the area to stay here. Peter and Katie were fantastic hosts and they would go out of their way to improve your stay.

I haven't been to a bed & breakfast for a very very long time so I wasn't sure what to expect. Well this B&B is just amazing. I was so surprised (pleasantly). Pete and Katie are lovely hosts and the Link House is just perfect. So perfect I don't know where to start. There's parking, a fantastic breakfast, a very comfy bed, a spotless bathroom/bedroom and it was so quiet. The B&B was full but we never heard anyone else during the evening/night. Pete and Katie are very knowledgeable about the area and Link House is within walking distance of the lake and the Lakes Distillery. It's also situated just off the motorway so that its easy to get around and a good bus service if you don't want to drive, I really could not fault the Link House and my only issue is that we weren't booked in for longer than the 2 nights.

Thank you so much for your lovely review and so pleased that you found it calm, relaxing and really quiet and wished you could have stayed longer. It would be lovely to see you again in the near future. The motorway you mentioned is only the A66 and though we are across the fields from it it is still a great way to access Keswick and Cockermouth which are only a few mins. either way. If ever back in this beautiful part of the Northern Lakes Book us directly for the best results or give us a call to discuss availability, Till then, best wishes and thanks again for this lovely review. Pete & Katie.

Link House is well positioned for the North Western lakes. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice. Peter & Katie gave us great recommendations for food and walks. All in all, a top class B&B.

We loved staying at Link House for our week in the Lake District. Beautifully located next to Bassenthwaite Lake, there’s plenty to explore nearby and it was lovely coming back to our warm and comfy room each day. Also lovely are hosts Pete & Katie who were friendly, helpful and always ready to make us feel at home. We couldn’t have asked for more, quite literally with the big breakfasts filling us up every morning. Thanks for a perfect stay!

Our hosts Pete & Katie were fab, nothing was too much trouble. Everything was clean and breakfast was honestly the best I've had in a B&B, so fresh and tasty. Lovely location with Bassenthwaite Lake just down the road. 100% recommend staying here!
