Well ended up here by courtesy of Ana of the Roc Golf Trinidad next door. We were booked,
Our All Inclusive Holiday Booked through Easy Jet Holidays ! That’s for another review.
When we arrived at the Trinidad it was closed for refurbishment.
Ana made the calls and told the Bahia see would sort our bill. Luckily Ana was in the hotel as they were due to open 6 days time.
Bahia Serena didn't do all inclusive but did full board, a call form Bahia to Ana resulted in telling us to charge all drinks etc. to our room number and she would sort it. Haven't been all inclusive before but I think it includes local beer and wine/sprites. But no one queried charging to our room, local beer was ok the Bombay sapphire doubles gin went down well and the */10 Euros wine very nice.
So to the Bahia Serena, manly catering for the Spanish elderly group travel in the winter months.
Over all the hotel was clean and tidy. Our room was cleaned every day and fresh towels / toiletries if you needed. Reception was very helpful with all our query's.
We had an apartment that was fine as it gave an area to lounge with TV and bed settee small kitchenette, with a fair size balcony, as well as a double bed room & balcony and fairly spacious bathroom with a shower that actually had some pressure. The food was all buffet style and with a fair selection of hot and cold food quality not fantastic but OK. Amazing how much the little Spanish ladies could put away. Lots of different types of bread and free wine at lunch, not that that mattered to us we were charging all our drinks to our room anyway. There was some form of entertainment in the afternoons and in the evenings Spanish of course, line dancing seams to have taken over dance floors. Nice bar with TV for us football fans. No water in the outside pools, understandable, but had a small indoor pool that was open. There was some ground works to the paving around the pools but not intrusive. All inclusive included transfers of course I knew even after my prolonged telephone conversation with Easy Jet Holiday’s UK that the taxi for our return to the airport would not be told about the change of Hotel, so we walked , luckily just next door to to be picked up.
Stayed here for a week. This is a Spanish holiday destination. As far as I know we were the only English family there but I loved that. The staff were friendly helpful and helped us with our spanish speaking. Very clean hotel. Our room was cleaned everyday. Good buffet breakfast lunch and dinner. If you want a real spanish holiday then this is a good place but make an attempt to speak the language. Very happy with service in bars around pool also all the area x 1st class.
This hotel was very nice, pool area was spacious with hardly any sun beds used, also indoor pool. Food was ok but catered more for the Germans and Spanish. The room was very spacious with kettle, fridge and hob and plates etc if you wanted to cook yourself lol. There was a nice little bar/ restaurant for good English pub style food and very reasonable. Also a good cocktail bar which would bring you melon, nuts and a small slice of cake, gratis.
Decided to have a family holiday with my Wife, Youngest Step-Daughter and her family (Hubby and and 3 children in the Sun. Did not really want to go to a little Britain, so looked around for a more 'Spanish' than 'British' populated resort, We Chose the Bahia Serena mainly on budget and it's location right on the Sea Front. We booked 2 Apartments, (One for my me, my wife and eldest Grand - Son) and One for my Stepdaughter, Her Husband and her two youngest children. We requested that the were Located adjacent if possible. On arrival, we were greeted by Isabella and checked in with no problems and found that we had been allocated apartments 513 and 514. the apartments themselves were clean and tidy and well presented. We were not expecting the Hilton and they certainly weren't shabby. The Apartments could not have been better situated, having a lovely view overlooking the Pool to the the centre, a clear view of the Ocean to the left and Mountains in the distance to the right. The balconies were lovely and we spent most evenings (after the Children had gone to bed), relaxing and chatting with a couple of drinks. It really was idyllic! We had breakfast included in the deal and there was something for most of us, there. We ate out on an evening and found 2 great places just outside the front door of the Hotel. Cullar Tapas Bar and Pizzeria Firenze. Both had extremely friendly and helpful staff and served great food. Would definitely return to Bahia Serena and Roquetas de Mar.
We stayed at this hotel for 14 nights in September 2018 on a self catering basis. We arrived quite late and night and after checking in and paying for a room safe we were left to wander around searching for our room. With the help of one of the maids we eventually found room 139. This is a refurbished apartment and is lovely except that it overlooks the side road. However we found that the room didn’t actually have a safe and after convincing the receptionist that there was no safe we were promised a room change the following day. Day 2 we were allocated room 104 which although not a refurbished room was spacious and had a lovely view overlooking the pool. This room does have a safe! Luckily we hadn’t intended to self cater in the room as there are only 2 electric rings and 2 pans whereas the refurbished rooms have full oven hob and fridge freezer. Anyway like I say spacious rooms comfortable beds and clean towels daily. On the downside the hotel is very dated and unless you are Spanish you are not catered for. The entertainment is limited and all in Spanish. The outdoor pools are quite grubby and could do with a good scrubbing. The indoor pool was closed the whole time we were there. Checkout is at 10 am on the day of departure. As we had a night flight I asked if we could have a late checkout but after checking with a man who sat behind the reception area I was told no the hotel was full. I then asked if there was somewhere we could get a shower before we left for the airport but was told no!!!! On the day we checked out my husband informed the reception staff that it was not acceptable that we couldn’t even take a shower before we left and that we felt the hotel facilities left a lot to be desired. This time after checking with the man behind the reception area we were told we could have a room !!!
There are lots of hotels in the area and the Bahia Serena need to move with the times, get the place updated and employ more helpful staff.
