I really enjoyed my stay at Mbuyuni. We stayed for five days. Room was clean and spacious. They had great facilities and all the staff was friendly. It's literally two minutes to the beach. Great location. It's budget friendly. They serve nice breakfast with various fruits from 7:30am to 9:30am. Their lunch and dinner menu changes daily. It's an ideal place for those who really want to get away. The Wifi is only accessible in the restaurant. Meaning you really get to be present and just take it all in when in your room or the pool.

Room Tip: Banda 1 had the best view of the sea. It also has a hammock outside.

I had a great stay at Mbuyuni which was very relaxing. The room was nice and kept very clean. The hotel is right on the beach and also have a very nice pool. There are plenty of places to chill out including swinging bedsand hammocks.

The staff were always nice and friendly and willing to help whenever they could. The food menus would change daily with good selection and always very nice.

Food & swimmingpool very good. Some of the staff very friendly. Disapointed in room and beach. No bottles of water in the room or a fridge. Rooms are very hot but very big. In the morning no water in the toilet or shower. The accommodation may be better maintained.

We stayed in Banda 4 (Bungalow 4) which is not on the beach, so there were some problems with the breeze (hot, hot, hot). The room was clean, but you have to know (and they tell you this) that if you want the room to be cleaned, you must ask for it and let the key at the reception since they do not have a double. The only thing I found not to be in my taste were the mattresses in the rooms. They are not firm and quite thin. I don't know why other travelers said that it was unsafe. Our experience was good. They always have someone guarding the territory, so no problem with safety. Also, we appreciated the quietness of the territory, the bungalows being scattered around one had no problem with noise. The food at the restaurant is excellent, but is served pole-pole, meaning slowly-slowly so I'd recommend you to take into consideration ordering in advance.

Room Tip: try to ask for rooms in the bungalows near the pool and facing the sea.

This place was very affordable, the ocean views were stunning, and the many lounging options were awesome. The food was also really good, especially for the price. However, two nights in a row someone tried to get into our room in the night (around midnight). When we brought it up to staff, they brushed it off as us hearing things or the local dog touching the door, but it woke both myself and my sister up both times; we know what we heard was someone jiggling the door handle, not a dog sniffing the door. On my third/ last day there, I left my phone to charge in the bathroom during the day, and checked the windows to make sure they were locked before leaving ( we did not open them at any point in our stay). When I came back to the room a couple of hours later, after they had cleaned the room, the window closest to my phone was opened, and my phone had been moved within reach of the window. I think housekeeping/ someone they know had been planning to come back and steal it but we got home earlier than expected. Long story short, nothing major happened but enough creepy things happened that we wouldn't recommend it to friends because we didn't feel safe. But you should probably stop by for cocktails and food if you're in the area, because they're really delicious in a beautiful setting.
