My husband and I were booked in here through our travel agent and were absolutely delighted as upon visiting the other resorts this definitely suited us best. Reminded me of our P&O cruise ship holidays as there is plenty to join in with if you choose to. We, upon reading Trip Advisor got a room down the chapel end on the 3rd floor. Perfect to retire to after all the pool action. We had the free breakfasts with bubbles and enjoyed both buffet and served ones. Food delicious. We noted children were well catered for and never a problem. Loved the staff sense of humour. Look forward to our next holiday at Sofitel Fiji.

Had 7 nights here with hubby and 4 yr old twins. Everything about it was fantastic. When you stay at Denerau do not expect beautiful beachs but the pools are fantastic and being so close to airport makes it easy for a short get away or travelling with children. Having said that the beach is OK and enjoyed the hammocks all along beach. We had a family room which had bunk beds for kids in alcove and it all worked really well. Rooms compact but great. Pool fantstic. Staff were all genuinely friendly and amazing with kids. The staff made this resort very special. Food in Salt fantastic. Great having the bula bus to take you other resorts. Can't wait to go back and would be happy to stay either as a couple or with kiddies. Keep up the good work Sofitel!

The bags are unpacked and all the dirty laundry is done and now it’s time to share my thoughts about our recent trip to Fiji. I was so impressed by all of the COVID-19 precautions taken and having both PCR and rapid testing available onsite was convenient. I felt safe and secure the entire time. The recent renovations made the hotel seem brand new. There were plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available during our stay. Fresh towels were always on hand.

We ate at all three restaurants. Service was attentive. The buffet at the Bazaar has plentiful (and tasty!) options even if they don’t change much meal to meal. The menu at Solis is more fish and seafood focused while the menu at Waitui Grill has more meat options. Tip: Place your drinks order when you are first seated.

The staff at the Sofitel are simply delightful! Each and every one of them was so warm and friendly. I was surprised at how everyone made an effort to remember my name. They made me feel like a treasured guest.

Special shout-outs to the following:
• Robert & Kuki in Reception for handling our early check-in and late check-out with aplomb.
• Jack Johnson for answering my many questions about the hotel.
• My partner and I each enjoyed massages at the spa. Kudos to Dorothy for trying to loosen those knots in our necks and shoulders!
• Housekeeper Rose for keeping our room clean and tidy.
• Justin the Dining Manager for making sure we were well taken care of.
• Bartender Malakai and pool server Ilami for keeping the cold beers flowing.
• Chef Stephane for graciously fielding so many questions even though he was busy. I wish him success in his new role.

But there were some things that I thought could use some improvement:
• As others have mentioned, the wifi is too slow. While I wasn't eager to spend my vacation on my phone, this could be a big issue for business incentive travelers.
• I would have liked an actual clock in my room. The clocks on my cell phone gave me two different times.
• A dresser to store clothes would have been nice. Clothing ended up in stacks on the table and draped on the chairs.
• Attention to detail on the room’s finishes was lacking. The closet doors didn’t match up properly and it took a little extra nudge to turn off the interior light in the closet. There was a gap between the glass and the frame of the sliding glass door. Someone with a heavy touch could easily break the glass.

All in all, we had a great relaxing vacation and are already planning a return visit.

Back to Waitui at Sofitel for the 4th year in a row and it didn't disappoint. New room and great service at the pool especially from Salote, Mili, Meri and Jerry. Food at the Waitui restaurant and at Solis was excellent. New reception area at Waitui very convenient especially for those arriving well before check in. Will be back again next year. Vinaka x

Not having been to Fiji before and having no idea of the area I booked 7 nights which we agreed was too short, as we enjoyed the resort so much.

We booked a suite for the duration. Plenty of room with separate bedroom from the lounge area and large bathroom. The room also included access to the Waitui beach club, this is for the over 16s only. We were able to have breakfast at the club and basically stay for the entire day with light meals available. The resort caters very well for the families also with a large pool in the main area of the resort.

Only complaint regarding the room was the shower did not drain as fast as it should and flowed into the bathroom centre floor drain. This was a common fault with a lot of the rooms as we discussed with fellow guests.

As for the staff they were all excellent, friendly and helpful. I think it a thing with all the Fijian people as we found this throughout the island on our day trips.

There are 5 areas for meals from casual snacks, buffet and restaurant dining. The price for meals and drinks at the resort was expensive. It was off peak season and there was around 50% capacity in the resort. An alternative was the marina within walking distance for slightly cheaper alternatives.

Denarau Island is a secured area consisting of 5 resorts. We felt safe within the area and frequently walked to other resorts for a look.

It’s ideal but pay the extra to be able to use the adults only area You can have the whole family there but can get away to an area and pool that is not full of children. We didn’t find it a zoo as some one else said. We were there in early December 2022. We loved the facilities for a baby to us as retirees.

Do you have to drink Sofitel purchased drinks around the pool or can you take your own drinks?

I took my own water down. You can take the mini bar stuff down but they charge corkage. We didn't do that, we just at their food. So I'm unsure if you can take your own you purchased somewhere else. There's nothing to say you can't

Bonjour Bula, Sorry but we do not have pool passes for the day for guests who are not in house with us. For dining, depending on occupancy as it is best to check before hand or it is also no permitted for guests that are not in house. This is only to maximum the services we provide for our in house guests. Vinaka, Hotel Management

I’m currently staying here. If you aren’t a guest at the hotel, the breakfast is $50/pp. I know only because we arrived very early in the morning on our first day. Our room wasn’t ready yet, but we could go have the breakfast buffet... which is $50 pp for non-guests. There’s also a patisserie on the main level, with a la carte items on it. I don’t know about the pool area, but if your family is staying here, they can order the drinks to be charged to their room. You need a towel token (provided to guests at check in) in order to get a towel.

Hi there..I am not exactly sure about that as we didn't visit that side of the hotel but that's an enclosed..private property..from what I have read you have to pay exclusively for the adults only area and hotel..I am sorry you will have to call and inquire.
