Killed four spiders in my room before bedtime. Bathroom has no fan or vent and had black mold. Sheets were stained.Waited an hour for the office to open the following morning. Staff was unfriendly. Lots of junk in the back and side of building. Very disappointed.
The 3 queen room is a spacious option for larger families, with a full sized fridge and a fold out couch. The proprietors were helpful and accommodating with our change of plans. A good location for visiting Bryce.
My daughter and I stayed here just recently and will start by saying that Hatch is an extremely small town. Coming from Australia with our dollar so low I chose Hatch as a point not too far from Bryce. I was checked in by an adorable young boy who was extremely polite and helpful. The room was extremely large and exceptionally clean. The linens were very clean and the best hot water we had on our entire trip. The beds were the most comfortable we had on our trip. We stayed in Room 5 and it was lovely view out the front with the sun setting so late in the evening. All in all this was a more than adequate stop for the night before heading into Bryce Canyon. Great service, great clean room at a great price.
First, Hatch, UT is a small town - a very small town. I'm comfortable with that scenario because I grew up in a REALLY small town in southeastern WA state. That said, any motel in such a locale will be older and eccentric. Hence, our room had 3 queen beds (hey, 1 bed per night if variety calls you) and a TV that, while capable of HD viewing, offered only SD quality. Not a problem since my wife and I were up by 4 a.m. each morning so we could get to the park to photograph the sunrise (Hatch is approximately 25 miles from the Bryce Canyon entrance).
The bathroom was definitely an experience (one could say "unforgettable" and mean it if irony is your thing). The inside of the bathroom door had 2 - count 'em - 2 holes punched in it (I suspect there's a story there...).
The kitchen also functioned as a combo dishwashing/bathroom tooth brushing area where make-up can be applied and I could shave.
The AC worked pretty well which was nice since temps were in the 80s.
All-in-all, we had booked our trips to Zion and Bryce a tad later than is advisable and rooms anywhere were already filled. Hatch is a nice, quiet spot surrounded by scenic pasture land. It was a needed respite from the crowds at Bryce Canyon. The Bryce Zion Inn (I wouldn't really call it an "Inn" - nothing wrong calling it a motel) served our purpose and for that my wife and I were grateful.
We had a long drive from Las Vegas and then stopped at Zion. It was late and we were tired as we headed for Bryce. We had reservations since in these parts, hotels fill quickly. What a great place. The staff was friendly and efficient. The rooms were huge and very clean. The bathroom was also not cramped. Parking was easy, and although it fronts Highway 89, my room was exceptionally quiet. I would recommend this to friends.
