We booked a room for a few days . Charlotte sent a very long email with all her rules . Suddenly without any reason she cancelled our booking . Glad she did as her reviews are terrible ! She should be in the army instead of being the owner of a B&B
Avoid her !!
Check-in and check-out was very dissapointing. The owner should go to the army because she is good in commanding and making rules. Friendliness was far away from her. When checking out, nobody turned up for saying warm goodbye so we just left the keys in a bowl on the corridor.
The first evening we have been told NOT to bring hot food in room but the second night the owner forbid to bring any snack or drink at all.
What more the second night was more humilating as we arrived and the owner again ruled out how and where to park with car. She said she is expecting more guests and we have to accept that. She pointed out earlier there is no parking facility, however on booking.com parking is available.
Alltogether the place was clean but the owner done her damage with her attitude.
Please replace this lovely lady as she got nothing to do with warm-hearted Scotland.
I don't recommend this hotel! I never want to come back!
We made our reservation about 60 days ahead. The location, and rooms are quite beautiful; Right on Loch Ness, with giant trees (Sequoias) in the front. Once you meet the Innkeeper, things chilled immediately. She is a narcissistic, self centered, and demanding host. After we “checked in” and had our keys, we checked in our daughter who surprised our son to be with him for his proposal, the locals we talked with knew where we were staying. Our host never even introduced herself! We also had driven 3 hours to check in on time and had to use the rest room. Our pleas were ignored.! She made sure she kept her distance from the rest of our party. Leave in the morning before you have to run into her again. Out of all the places we’ve stayed in Scotland, this is the only place we got this treatment. Everyone has been so hospitable. Luckily, should we return to Drumnadrochit, there are other places to stay! places
The place itself is lovely; it’s in a great location, the room is clean and comfortable and it has great views.
However, the host was quite odd and a bit rude. She seemed determined from the minute we arrived to make it clear we were a great inconvenience and she had a plethora of rules! There was system and whilst we were staying under her roof we would be following it! Just in case we ever relaxed she helpfully placed passive aggressive notes in the hallway just so everyone knew where they stood.
I can’t fault the place as a place to stay and it’s great value for money as long as you accept in advance your very presence will be getting on the host’s last nerve.
On a whim, and never been to that area of Loch Ness, We decided to book an overnight stay at the Kilmichael House in Drumnadrochit thru booking.com, now between going from one website to another the dates had been changed by booking.com and the only reason I noticed was because of the communication between the B+B and myself. However after a couple of phonecalls and emails I was able to book the correct dates without financial loss to myself.
Okay onto the B+B itself,It is easy enough to find and we were welcomed after 6pm,by a lady who showed me where I could leave my car and then to our room, no drama. The room was large and spacious with a modern en-suite bathroom,tv dvd freeview box fridge(which you could leave snacks and drinks in) comfy double bed as well. The location is very good,100 m from 1st pub, 200m from Loch Ness visitor centre, and 300m from a very good restaurant and post office and souvenir shops.Sleep quality was good, but the free wifi was excellent over 14mps.Breakfast area was spacious, continental only, and there was a large lounge as well.
At the end of the day the place was clean tidy and fit for purpose,Its not the Hilton but they don't give you such good wifi.
