I hate writing this because I think the service industry as we know does not exist anymore but if it had been one mix up but there were so many when my family arrived at 4 pm we were told are are room was not quite ready i am in the business i understand over booked under staffed situations. So we were told they would call us when the room was ready which was fine i thought a little odd being we were told it would be a short wait so we needed to run to the store no big deal zo about 45 min to an hour waiting i inquired very nicely and the front desk associate nervously said hold on there was a room attendant sitting at the table next to the front desk having a meal once again a little unprofessional but I get it under staffed but everyone has to eat i quickly pick up on this room attendant probably qas the only one on duty and had not even started the room so the front desk lady comes back and of course can't give me a time frame and offered a smaller cheaper room which I would have taken if it were not for the fact I was traveling with family and there was a reason we booked that size i immediately ask for a manager only because i know the poor front desk attendant had no cont control over the situation neither did the housekeeper but i needed the room whether it was their or another property of course once i spoke with the manager another quickly popped up which I assume was there head of housekeeping/rooms director long story short a room with our needs was magically available so they did handle the situation quickly and if that was it we wouldn't be here right now. The second not quite as big of a deal but annoying so we were told upon check in the pool was closed i get it covid 19 they don't have to be closes but maybe something happened and they felt it was in the best interest of guest Yada but after the check in fiasco I was conversing with the front desk associate and they told me the pool was closed because they were short staffed as nd did not have any one that could take care of the area properly ok i get it but once again was an amenity that we were planning to use and were told a couple different stories just very unprofessional then a few hours later ppl were using the pool in plain site of the same front desk no one said anything and the family swimming enjoyed their time i ran into one of their party later and that guest had a very different story and they were extended stay but it was a bad experience regardless I was going to let that go as well. The final straw is I am a smoker i get it gross you don't like it smokers are outcast to society we are killing everyone and the 7 cheeseburgers i had this week isn't but i left the room about 6 am to have a smoke of course still half asleep i forget my room key as well as id wallet car keys etc.. totally my fault and was dreading going back to the front desk so proceeded to deal with the next front desk associate well its early no one is really around yet so no one is at the front desk again i get it but yet again she allroaches the desk with a mouth full if food and actually soeks to me with food still in her mouth. She ask me for id no its in the room and tells me that with out id she can not help me as I told everyone I was traveling with family so there were. Ppl in the room I did not want to wake them but I explian that to her then I mention if I could get something off or in the car to verify which still really wouldn't she tells me ahain without id I was locked out if my room so u go knock wake everyone up so if I woukd have been there by myself I would have just been locked out i guess until they cleaned it i fknt know but it was 6 an and breakfast was sullosed to he out i did not see it so I went back to the desk asked about the breakfast and again confirmed that I would have just been loxked out i will donate the details but the associate started defending her self arguing corporate policy over franchise policy told mr i could have got something from the car which before she told me no but changed her defense suggest I ask yalk to her manager i had to ask twice fir her to stop speaking to me because she was raising her voice and trying to talk over me the whole time I will leave it at that not only was she rude she embarrassed me i know what the corporate policy on it is which was no where close to the silly things she told me that they did diffetent because of their owners regRdkess your policy should to take care of your guest when they are locked out if their room i wanted attribute it all to poor training which it is but the second associate at the front desk was not only unprofessional but rude and aggressive and more interested in me seeing her point if view and a i cared was to go back ti bed which did not happen. So would not recommend this property at all.

Reading your review, I am a bit confused as to the actual location of the hotel you stayed with. We now have 5 Home2 Suites Hotels in the Charleston area and your description of events as I read them do not seem to match our location staffing or services. We are often mistaken for another property. Nevertheless, please accept my apology on behalf of the Home2 Brand for the service you received. Nice location, quiet and clean. Pool area was well maintained and clean. Helpful and friendly staff. A/C works great, and comfortable beds with lots of storage space. Lobby area was nice and inviting.

Overall good experience for our 2 night stay on our way to Hilton Head. Super convenient to airport. Our room was clean and spacious, including a sofa bed for our family of five. Staff friendly, clean pool and beds/linens were comfortable. Nearby shopping and restaurants were convenient.

Home2 Suites was by far one of the best hotel stays we have ever had! Everything was super nice; from the room to the breakfast, to the workout facility to the pool! The staff was always smiling with a friendly greeting, and that goes further than you know!

We stayed at this hotel for a week and highly recommend it. We had a full size fridge, dishwasher, great grill area out by the pool, and excellent complimentary breakfast. Homes2 Suites by Hilton exceeded our expectations. We look to stay in more of these hotels in the future.
