Since I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member I like to stay at different properties across its portfolio. Needing to catch an early train in Trenton, I decided to stay at this property in Bucks County across the river. While a last minute decision, I was able to book a room on the third (top) floor and felt confident I would be staying where Covid standards would be adhered to.
Arriving not only at night, but during the remnants of a former hurricane, it was difficult to find this hotel tucked in the rear of an office building park. My GPS gave me a tour of the various parking lots of the complex before I found the hotel.
Once inside, I went to check-in despite having a digital key. There is always some confusion where guests are encouraged to bypass check-in and go right to their rooms, but that does not allow one to pickup the bottled spring water their status entitles them to. I also ask for a regular room key just in case the technology does not work. In this case I also was offered a snack item from the adjacent store, but being bogged down with luggage & umbrella and wet from the weather I decided to return later to pick that up.
The room was the one I chose online the night before. I have no issues at all with it. Ample size as expected for a Hampton Inn. Comfortable bed. Surprisingly my TV worked despite the weather. Bathroom had enough space to put down my toiletries. No shortage of hot water for shower.
In the morning I had to leave rather early to drive to Trenton so I did not partake of the bagged breakfast. I did also bypass the front desk to check-out on the Hilton app.
Overall, not a bad property. Could use improved signage from I-295 and through the office park.
As stated by a previous reviewer, measures were in place to protect & keep you healthy during your stay. Breakfast WAS served, though it consisted of choices of pre-packaged items (small cereal boxes, juice boxes/bottles/cans, individually wrapped muffins/danish, yogurt cups, fruit cups, bananas, peeled hard-boiled eggs in small separate containers, condiment packets, disposable plates/trays/utensils). We collected our breakfast & brought it back to our room to consume. The outdoor pool was closed, and we didn't try to use the fitness center, so I can't comment about whether or not it was opened.
Now on to more "regular" things about our stay . . .
First of all, the location of the property is well hidden, back in a business park of sorts. It is difficult to see from the roadway once you exit the highway. Also, as you travel through the business park to get to the hotel, there has obviously been recent construction, as the stone/stamped concrete cross-walks are about 1.5-2" higher than the rough coat of asphalt. that means every time you drive across a cross-walk, it feels as if you are going off-road!!
Our room was freezing when we arrived (AC set on 65 degF!!??), but the hallways were warm and humid(?). The curved shower rod in our bathroom was pulling out of the wall & loose, so instead of curving outward to give more room in the shower, it curved downward, looking like a smile. Unfortunately, that didn't do much to keep the shower curtain spread out, as it gathered in the (lower) middle part of the rod. This resulted in water getting all over the bathroom floor from the shower. There was also a nice big chip in the bathtub porcelain, and it appeared the shower valve was leaking.
Finally, after we came back from indoor dining at a local restaurant (also a first for us during this pandemic), we watched some TV. They must use a satellite system here, because there was no signal during the early evening downpour. Before & after the storm was no problem.
All in all, it was a good stay, which we've come to expect during our Hampton Inn stays, and why we normally try to choose them, if available. My few complaints above are relatively normal, and I'm sure they will be corrected.
I want to publicly thank the management and staff for making our stay safe and comfortable during the COVID-19 pandemic. There were extra precautions and new hotel policies. The pool was closed and breakfast consisted of a good variety of prepackaged items. Plastic screens were installed at the lobby counter. Masks were worn and hand sanitizer was available. Our room was specially cleaned and disinfected. Although housekeeping was not provided during our two-night stay, necessary items were easily obtained at the front desk. We stayed in clean, comfortable, and spacious queen suite that included a refrigerator and microwave.
Breakfast was truly amazing. It was hot, tasteful and plenty. Different types of eggs every morning. The room was very clean and comfy. I would definatly stay here again. As a matter of fact I'm going to check out the Hampton Inn in Orlando. This may be my new favorite hotel to stay in.
Rooms are nice and modern but other guests have been very noisy both nights. Running around banging doors. Going from room to room drunk. Wouldn't stay here again as I like my sleep too much. Surprising because there is nothing in the immediate area. Maybe a better behaved type of guest during the week.
