I didn’t get to see the inside of the room I’d booked at the Bayview. It was disappointing as this was the easiest place to stay for a family visit. The person booking me in, insisted he needed to take a copy of my license for their records! Oh, but that’s okay, he would tear it up the next day.
Even though he was able to identify me by the license photo, this continued insistence on taking a copy of my license (which along with my VISA card details can be used for quite a few scams on the internet), was enough to make me turn tails and RUN!
Note to Bayview Hotel, you don’t need to keep these details and note to visitors, be more aware of who has YOUR private information. I am a very seasoned traveller and this insistence on keeping a copy of your visitors license is highly IRREGULAR. What was okay, was leaving The Bayview, going to the Mantra at Ettalong and when booking in, simply producing the license for identification. No copy required, as is usual with accomodation. Very professional.
The Bayview Hotel offers great and spacious accommodation.
Some rooms only have a shared bathroom, but we booked a room with our own bathroom. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean and it was nice to have a balcony. There are a great brasserie a beer garden and a rooftop bar on the premises. Train stop is only a few minutes away and the trip from Sydney takes only about an hour. A great weekend getaway from Sydney .
Finding the motel was long and tiring. We were sent from the bar round the hotel and told 'through that door'. The door led to a courtyard. Then we are sent up a lift and walked the entire length of the place. Found correct room number but wrong part of the building. Eventually found motel rooms across the carpark. The room is very large. It had no shampoo, just soap. We were there four nights with no housekeeping. Someone came at 9am one day but we were in bed. She did not return. It's a convenient spot but I don't think guests are a priority.
We have stayed at the bay view a few times and have always found the room clean and bed comfy. close to station, lots of places to eat and good value.
we would stay here again
room is good size has fridge and good size bathroom
I went to bayview hotel on 17th May-19th May with 3 friends, we had to walk up all these stairs when we booked in , carrying our bags nobody told us that there was a lift going to the rooms until I asked if there was lifts that afternoon , in which they replied there was, I have a heart condition and going up the stairs was pretty traumatic, also we were given 1 key per room so if there was somebody going to showers they would have to wait for the other person to get back or you were locked out, definitely patrons need two keys. the showers had no shelving for hanging up cloths and shower bag they definitely need to look at this, just thought we would let you know , the room service and food were really good, and the staff were wonderful. very noisy friday and saturday nights but we were told this when we booked.
