I checked into this hotel this past Friday. You can tell that it is a bit older, by the holes in the counters from where the tube television used to be, and the heating/cooling window system. For what my friend needed it for it was just fine. The carpet was new the mattress was new, however, I would recommend to the staff to disregard older sheets and towels. One of our towels had a permanent marker spot on it, nothing end of the world. It is dated but like I said for not spending a lot of time in the room and just needing a place to get some shut eye and shower it worked. The front desk attendant was very nice. For the price it wasn't bad.
There's not much to say about this Rodeway Inn. We chose if for the location, basically so we didn't have to drive all the way home after a day at Kings Island. Travelers just need to be aware that this is a very old, basic motel. The furnishings and TV are really old, and the room had a funny smell. But for the $$, it sufficed.
The best part of this Rodeway Inn was the desk clerk. He was very friendly, and kept the lobby area sparkling clean. I wish I'd gotten his name. He even called the loud rowdy group that was next to us (two times!) and told them to quiet down or they'd be asked to leave.
Stayed here multiple times. Pet friendly hotel. Room is very basic, but clean. Beds are comfortable. Nothing more than just a simple budget motel. Room is dated but if you're looking for a clean place to sleep, this is it.
Probably the worst room I've ever stayed in, including many trips to central and South America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
I'll start with the positives. Decent location, right off the highway. It has hot water. It has a bed.
However, to begin, as soon as you enter the room, it reeks of cigarette. The smell does not get better or go away after you are in the room for a while. The room was frigid, turned on the heat, might as well have been air conditioning. Wall has a hole in it, see picture. Night stand falling apart, see picture. Trim missing around bathroom area. Mold in bathroom. Cigarette hole in comforter. Room service did not change bedding or make bed or change towels after first night. Attempted to change room and was told all rooms were non smoking and then ignored.
Spend a little bit more and don't stay here.
I just came down to the area over the weekend with my family to visit Cincinnati. The room was over all in good condition but one of our blanket was dirty and it had a smokey smell in the room. The mini fridge needed to be cleaned out after each guest but my mom and I clean the fridge and aired the room out. For the price it was not bad at all for a weekend. The staff was very helpful I would come back again to visit. (The housekeeper gave us another blanket the very next day and we right next to the pool.)
