Just back from a couple of nights at Dale Farm. We stayed in The Summerhouse and I've got to say the accommodation was excellent and we felt very at home. I was a little worried that with all the windows it might have been a bit chilly at night and I would have to work out how to light the wood burner, but the late summer sun played to our advantage and the room stayed warm all night. It's also worth having a walk around the site as there is a surprise around every corner, look out for scorpions, ants, spiders, butterflies and a rather large dragon like creature all dotted around and all for sale. We will definitely be looking to have another visit. 5*****
The woodland cabins are very comfortable and a pleasure to stay in.
There are electric cooler boxes in each which are ideal for storing perishables. Each has two plates, cups, bowls, knives, forks, spoons and teaspoons. The beds are really comfortable.
The three cabins share a single but very nice, clean, indoor shower room and loo which is connected to one of the farmhouse buildings
The wifi is inconsistent which is great for getting kids off their phones.
COVID makes it hard to book into local restaurants so you need to be organized and book ahead if you’re eating out.
The nearby coast is stunning.
The hosts are very helpful and efficient.
The breakfast butties are very good.
It’s very dog friendly and the owners have a lovely dog..
We hope to go back.
Booked the treehouse as a quiet get away to start off the summer holidays to unwind. Love the local area already as it is in Hunmanby, so only short distances to Bridlington, Filey, Scarborough, and Flambrough.
The treehouse is idyllic. The perfect getaway. I stayed with my partner and my dog for 2 nights. The welcome from the staff was great; my partner is a chatty person and they indulged him.
The kitchen is well equipped for basic needs (which is great for simplicity). The treehouse itself is beautiful. A cosy log burner, which we forced ourselves to use even though not really needed, is a great addition. The shower room is great and spacious. The toilet facilities are downstairs under the treehouse which is no trouble when the landscape is so beautiful. The site is scattered with art and quirks.
My partner ordered a breakfast basket (inc. a sandwich and orange juice) and wasn't disappointed.
Overall the treehouse is simply amazing and perfect to relax in; so much so my partner wants to go back for his birthday.
It was a delightful location, that was idyllic and quiet. The cabin was cosy and comfortable with lovely decor. Close to Hunmanby Gap and Filey. Easier than camping, nice to have everything set up for you.
There were limited tools for the fire, some oven gloves and a stoker would have been useful. Some of the paper (glossy magazine paper) left in the basket would not set on fire, which was pretty inconvenient on a chilly February night, luckily we had some paper in the car we could use.
The shower is tired with quite a few cracks. Although the toilet and shower room are inside the owner’s building, it was quite chilly. Still nicer than a caravan toilet block.
My lovely wife decided to book a long weekend after going through loads of places on the internet she stumbled upon dale farm, her main reason for choosing Dale Farm, it's close proximity to Whitby one of our favourite places.
So glamping it is. I loved the place as did my 5 year old daughter. The cabin we had was clean with a great facilities, toilet and shower room where spotless, the area where the cabin was has been well kept, and it allows dogs, which was brilliant. We are already planning a return visit next year! Well worth it, a little gem.
