Dont really understand the negative reviews of the Sta N Pla, our upgraded room was great, only small issue is no window in the bathroom due to its position but all else was great.
Its in a fantastic location only a short walk to beach, shops and bars, I would return again

Do not stay! My husband and I were excited when we booked this place for our babymoon, and we were so disappointed upon checking in. Our room was nothing like the photos we had seen. The “marina” view as advertised was instead a tiny window that faced a neighbors backyard. The main problem however was the bathroom. While the bedroom area had been somewhat redone (aside from the closet door hanging off the track) the bathroom had not been updated it seemed since the 80’s. Paint peeling off the walls, unpainted patched holes, stained towels, hair on the floor, non working blow-dryer, and a toilet that wouldn’t flush without standing there holding down the handle. The last straw was after finally getting into our room (you can’t check in until 4:00, unless you want to pay extra of course) we were dying to shower. I started the shower only to realize it wasn’t draining and immediately filled up with inches of water. I walked backed down to check in, where I was met with the front desk persons eye rolls and attitude, exclaiming there were no other rooms and what did I expect them to do. I asked for a partial refund if we were not able to switch rooms and she responded with “for what?”. She called the manager in to speak with me and she came and took a look. She was able to fix the closet door but just sort of shrugged her shoulders about the shower. She told us she could switch our room for us for a $20 fee, no other compensation or solution offered. My husband then got involved and asked if they could at the very least have someone take a look to fix it. She said she would have someone come take a look in about a half hour. Two hours later we were fed up with waiting and dying to take a shower, so we took turns standing in the shower in 6 inches of water (water came up to the bottom of the brown mold at the bottom of the shower curtain). Disgusting. Not the start to our babymoon we were hoping for. We left for dinner and when we arrived back the shower was draining slightly better (I’m sure they just poured some draino in it). The rest of our 3 day trip not once did they check on us or acknowledge the situation. Disappointed in the room and even more disappointed in the horrible customer service. Do not be deceived by the decent reviews as I was- stay somewhere else!!!!

Unsure what the difference is between the Sta and Pla resort and motel as they are basically the same thing. The room we had in the ‘resort’ was a motel room which was dirty with a bathroom in desperate need of upgrading. No safe to store belongings and we were charged extra on arrival for two people to stay in the room, despite having booked a double room. Staff were friendly and location was good but if you want a clean room which doesn’t smell don’t stay here.

Stayed here for 3 nights in a 'superior room with full kitchen' If this was a superior room then I'm glad we did not book a 'standard' We were a party of 2 adults and 2 kids the room capacity was for no more than 3 people. The sofa bed was tiny and there was NO BEDDING for it when we arrived there was only 3 towels in the bathroom. The kids ended up sleeping in the double bed with my wife and I roughed it on the sofa bed which resembled a park bench. The 'FULL' kitchen consisted of a microwave and a portable 2 ring hob!
This is one of the worst places I have had the misfortune of staying at. NOTHING was as described when booking. I would not recommend this place for your dog to stay at.

My girlfriend and I just spent 5 days in Clearwater Beach for a girls trip. Since I have been coming to the Spa N Play Motel since I was little I took a chance with the marina. The property has quiet a few good points. The location is with in walking distance to the beach and restaurants. It has a more homey atmosphere. There were though several items that were aggravating. The staff when we checked in were fantastic and it was all down hill from there. There was a sewer gas smell in the room which we let the main desk know. They said that they would let the manager know. After a 3 hour wait we went to dinner. I happened to run into the manager the next day and informed her of the problem, She stated that she hadn't been informed of the problem and the problem was rectified that afternoon. Unfortunately we were leaving the next day. We also informed the front desk that heater wasn't working on the pool. Their answer was to us one of the other pools on the other properties. The point was our room opened up to the pool we really didn't want to walk go to the pool. The walls are very thin. There were times at night we thought the people above us were going to come through the ceiling. We will be going back next year but will not be staying here we are going further down the beach.
