This was one of the best experiences I have had at a B&B. Gracious hostess, amazing breakfast, and a clean welcoming room. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness was so impressive. I'll be back in Oct. and next July. Highly recommended.
We stay frequently in B & Bs and have pretty fixed ideas about what works. The Lakeport English Inn was a hit. We would definitely stay again.
Pluses: walkable to restaurants, fabulous breakfast, welcoming tea. Our room was in the rear house, so very quiet. We didn't use the wifi or the tv, but both are available. The gardens are wonderful and quirky like the decorating. There were books to browse scattered about, and a comfy sofa for relaxing. Karan was very hospitable. We would definitely stay again. Our only puzzlement, why there was no tea accompanying the self-service coffee if it is an "English" inn.
I was booked into this very cozy and authentic English Inn for a two week contract job near by. I've never stayed at a B&B before and was very surprised at the cozy and modern accommodations. The owner is very personable and catering woman (Karen) and makes sure your material needs are met. Each room is very clean and comfortable with a nice Jacuzzi style bath, plenty of closet space and beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is served with nice menu of fresh fruit and plenty of coffee and tea. Much better than any other breakfast at a corporate hotel. Bring the kids. There's plenty of room here!
We stayed 2 nights while in town for a music gig at the Harvest Festival. The innkeepers (sisters) were so welcoming, and made sure that we had everything we might need. They even let us bring in our keyboard and amp for safekeeping overnight in the common room. Beautiful upstairs room with jacuzzi tub. The Inn was quiet and restful, with a nice garden for sitting or reading. All the amenities were first rate, and the service very personal. Breakfast was great, and served in a lovely parlor. We'll definitely stay here again when we're in town.
After other accommodations at another "lodge" were not acceptable; we happened on this quaint English Inn. We arrived exhausted, stressed and late getting ready for a special dinner. We left the next day, refreshed, relaxed, and feeling very pampered. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 was there were some areas that needed a little sprucing up ( off season) like a good dusting and touch up. The bathrooms were very clean and well stocked with "soft" towels, soaps and lotions.
The room we had was in front and had a great view of Clearlake. The following day we drove into Napa for a little more enjoyment with some wine tasting.
