We had a fabulous stay at Hotel Palafito, our room overlooked the bay and was very comfortable. The roof terrace, run by Pamela, assisted by Natalie was a lovely place to spend a couple of evenings - the girls really make the whole experience fun, along with great service. The manager Rosario was very helpful, even posting my sunglasses back to me in Sydney when I left them at the neighbouring restaurant. We loved this place and we're sure you will too.
The place was overall very cool. The rooftop terrace was a big plus as it seemed it was, I think, the only Palafito hotel with a rooftop terrace. The view was directly on the bay. The food was so very good at the bar (although maybe a bit pricey) and also during breakfasts as many things are home made. The lady working at the terrace bar (the manager I believe) was super friendly, interesting and was very helpful (and speaks English!).
The room was spacious and very comfortable. We had the side ocean view room. We stayed in September, so it was low season and quiet.
The only thing we noticed is that the floors of our bathroom needed a bit more cleaning as it was really dusty behind the door all the way up to the shower. Other than that, everything was good!
There are a couple of restaurants at walking distance from the hotel but if you want to go in the center of Castro, you need to take a car (or walk about 20-30 min uphill).
Great service and lovely little hotel. Very comfortable, nice and good location. The rooms are spacious, the hotel is very cute, it has a great living room and great views from the third floor. Will stay here again when I’m back!
A very individual and likeable hotel, built out of a mix of sustainable materials and blending into the row of former fisherman’s dwellings. The front of house staff were very helpful and friendly. Our bedroom had a wonderful view out over the river. It's a little walk up the hill into the main town, but definitely the best place to stay in Castro!
Palafito 1326 is a perfect place to stay in Castro! We had a warm welcome to the hotel, enjoyed the location, the welcome drink from the third floor cafe, the free parking and the deliciou breakfasts in the morning. The room are beautiful, beds are comfortable and the showers have strong, hot water. We loved the view and uniqueness of staying in a palafito. There is also a wonderful restaurant, the Cevicheria, next door.
Almost everything was perfect. The only issue we had was that hotel and nearby palafitos can be noisy. We used our earplugs and slept well.
A shout out to Rosario at the front desk: We had a slight problem with our reservation and Rosario at was incredibly helpful and wanted to make sure we had a wonderful stay, which we did. Highly recommend this hotel!
