Very well located hotel next to Retiro Station and Recoleta area.
My room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Very nice view from the room.
The location of the pool is a bit complicated since you have to climb several stairs. Also the size is correct for this hotel
Arrived at the hotel, reception very helpful nothing too much trouble. Went to the pool and there was a cord across saying closed till further notice maintenance work. When I spoke to reception that night they did not seem to know anything about it and that the pool was now open. Around 2.30 in the morning the electricity went down. This was still the case at 9 am the next morning. There was no emergency lights and told that the back up generator was not working. Phoned reception and a man with a torch came up to guide us down 18 flights of steps. Breakfast was with torch light and they said they were trying to get it fixed. We then went out for the day and on our return there was a big mobile generator outside the hotel so that lighting was on. I know that power cuts happen but this was a dangerous situation to be in, in case of fire etc. Also anyone stuck in the lift then this would have been a very traumatic experience. I went to the pool during the 2nd day and the pool was still closed. This did spoil our trip.
Big room. Ok king size beed. Quite dark room. No outdoor furnitures on balcony. Needs an upgrade soon. Ok breakfast with fruit and good orange juice etc but not a lot of choises. There is not much to see nearby but you are in city center in 15 minutes walk and it seems safe to walk.
Small pool with fresh water and a small rooftop area - but nice for sunbathing ☀️
This hotel is NOT a five star hotel. It is an old hotel in serious need of a renovation. However, the location is OK and worth it for the money. I wouldn’t stay here again but didn’t mind staying here last minute for a couple of nights.
-The beds are fantastic. Very comfortable pillows on huge soft beds.
-The staff. Very helpful. They were able to accommodate our party in adjacent rooms last minute.
-Location. It’s good though not as great as other reviewers have posted. It is very central yes, it IS retiro, but I don’t know how safe it is. There were a few homeless across the street and the street is poorly lit so do be careful. We didn’t feel comfortable being out after it got dark. It is easy to get to other places as others have stated and there is a super market across the street.
-Parking. We rented a car (we drove from Córdoba) and needed a garage for a couple of nights.
-Breakfast is included
-WiFi is free and surprisingly good.
-The hotel is old and it shows. The wall paper as well as the carpeting need to go. There are nasty stains on the carpets. I kept my shoes on in the room the whole time. Parts of the restroom walls were disgusting.
-The gym reeks. The machines are nice but it was impossible to stay inside due to the foul smell.
- Tiny elevators.
-The pool. seriously, there needs to be a better way to get there. Torn green carpet covers a sort of maze that leads to well, the rooftop and a very small pool. There is no bar. Kudos for creativity though.
-Breakfast needs to improve. The coffee was good. They offer Stevia which was nice. The rest, well, it wasn’t so tasty. And choices are limited.
Stayed hee for a few days, check in was professional and friendly, we were lucky to be given a upgrade to a junior suit at no extra charge which was very much appreciated. Nice open bright reception area, concierge staff and valet staff on hand to assist you with anything you require including help with your luggage and storage of luggage if you have a late flight. Staff throughout the hotel were very helpful and friendly.
Yes rooms are a little dated in decor wise, but they have everything you require, are clean, comfortable and have good size bathrooms.
Breakfast is served buffet style in the resturant just off reception area, decent selection of food is offered.
The hotel has a small rooftop pool and seating area, there is no bar there but there is a intercom and if you request a refreshment it will be brought to you. Overall a decent reasonably priced hotel for a short stay and one we would use again if returning to Buenos Aires.
