Phelwana Game Lodge, synonymous with Great service , good food and an amazing in nature experience!

Situated a mere 40 km from the Kruger Narional Park in the Greter Kruger Region, they offer guided game drives and nature walks where you can see a variety of plains game animals like giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and their famous hippos that can often be heard while enjoying a meal or sitting at the pool infront of your option of accommodation. They offer beutifull chalets, luxury tents surrounding the Phelwana dam, or the Sky deck where you can spend a night under the stars.

Great food exeptional hospitality, a must stay on your traveling bucket list.

Our family loves je this lodge. It has luxury tent accommodation or villas. Each side has its own pool. Three delicious meals a day are provided. Monkeys, hippopotamus and Cape Buffalo abound. If you want to see other big five animals (leopards, lions, rhinoceros & elephants), The Resort staff will arrange a 30 minute drive to a nearby private reserve. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this lodge.

The employees were very helpful and friendly. We stayed in one of the luxury tents at the dam. The tent is beautiful which includes all amenities needed. We had most of the days hippos nearby in the dam which was fun to watch. The tent has a private small pool, perfect to cool down during the hot afternoons . The food served for breakfast, lunch and dinner is excellent; was all included in the price. The change the dinner location some evenings , which makes it more interesting. They also make you a breakfast package if you go on an early game drive. Besides the hippos there are zebras, giraffes, buffalo and other animals. The reserve is fenced off , so no lions or elephants. However one morning we saw a leopard on our drive out of the reserve, they sometime visit the reserve (via tree over the fence). They do a complimentary brush walk and game drive in their reserve each day, it’s nice to do this, however since it’s not that big and with limited animals, I would only recommend this to do once, go to other reserves or Kruger to see more. I would highly recommend this place. However keep in mind that it’s nearly a 1 hour drive to the nearest entrance of Kruger NP

Phelwana gave our family a fantastic villa to stay in the wild. The private swimming pool and the animals in the property made it a wholesome wildlife experience. Bush walks were complimented with awesome food at the restaurant and the hospitality was the very best. We had a great time.

First, we like the people. Before we even arrived, the staff was already very helpfull. I had to get a letter of accomodation for my SA visa application & Jana responsed very swiftly. When we arrived Roelof great us & helped us book a game drive in Manyeleti Reserve. He was very helpfull. Secondly, we enjoy the experience. It was my first time going Safari in South Africa, not for my husband. He said, you may find luxury tent like the one in Phelwana but you may not experience the same hospitality we had there. We stayed in Kingfisher & saw sooo many animals in front of our room (day & night). Lastly, we love the food! Bow down to the chef, food is very very tasty. Jeffrey always great us & help us too. Thank you Phelwana for making my first Safari trip amazing. If you like some privacy & sleeping very close to the animals, I recommend luxury tent with pool in front of the hippo dam
