Connor and Ceasar looked after us for breakfast and dinner, and we commend them for their service and willingness to please. The breakfasts have great variety and a barista made cappuccino is included if you ask for it. The dinners are to die for. Thandi is a remarkable chef. We really felt at home in the communal areas, overlooking the lake. The chalets are far enough away from each other to guarantee privacy. The bath in the honeymoon suite is comfortable and has a great view. The wine list has a good variety. They supply filtered water - just ask if you need more.

Out of this world! What an amazing location and Lodge. Views over the river and lakes from the bedrooms and decking. Impala and monkeys in the grounds. Staff were great and helped make our stay really enjoyable. Lovely location for Dinner on the decking with great food. Lovely walks. And great location for the game parks less than 30 minutes away.Highly recommended. Hope to return soon.

Stayed for four nights in January 2020.

Staff friendly and helpful, especially Rebecca and Lesley who worked the front desk.

Having been contacted in advance to arrange pre-bookings, they sorted out a boat trip on the lake, setting off from from St Lucia (1 hr 20 minutes away) and a game drive at the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi park (25 minutes away) using local guide Cela Manyanga from Anew Hotel. He collected us from the River Lodge and was excellent throughout, making the game drive an unforgettable experience. Thoroughly recommended!

Half board- breakfast to a good standard, and dinner even better. With forewarning, the kitchen supplied vegetarian food as requested, and varied the fare each day.

Mosquitos were an issue when were here, requiring use of a mosquito net in the room for sleeping under, and forcing us to avoid the lovely outside areas in early evening, eating dinner inside the breakfast room instead.
Internet weak, probably due distance from 'supply'.

We stayed here 1 night coming from Durban and then continuing to Swaziland.
Beautiful lodge with great view over the river. Set in a nice park with small monkeys, impalas and many birds. Spacious room and good size bed.
Excellent dinner and breakfast.
A must: safari in the Umfalozi park. A unique experience! We were the only guests on the drive.

Stayed here with friends for a game drive and day at the pool. We had a wonderful experience! The view from the deck is phenomenal. The food was delicious (um, the house baked bread, amazing) and staff so friendly. The room was clean, the beds comfy and netted to keep out the mozzies. We got picked up for a game drive, hung out by the pool, and hiked the short trail (really needs a 7.5 marker!) on the property. We would definitely return!
