It was ok, simple room, first the AC and fan didn t work, but was fixed. Service is quick and good. No butter in breakfast, just a kind of horrible marguarine. All together it is ok for a good sleep, the bed is comfortable
We were booked into the Hai Chau as part of a Mekong package with TNK Travel. Why they spoil a very good tour with such fifth rate accommodation is beyond me. Scruffy lobby decorated with motorcycle parts, a room totally filled with beds which, incredibly , had no top sheet, just a scruffy bed cover. Tip: I went up to the dining room and nicked a sheet from the linen room. While up there I saw how dirty the place is.
OK. It,s cheap and would suit budget travelers, but we declined a second night and moved to the Kim Tho which was infinitely better for little extra cost.
I must congratulate the Hai Chau receptionist who came on duty later on his excellent English and his helpful attitude. Pity he's not the manager,
This was our last accommodation after 3 weeks in VN using a mix of 9 different homestays, guest houses & budget hotels and sadly it was our worst experience & the highest price. Beds & pillows rock solid, shower mouldy (but plenty of hot water pressure) A/C working badly, fan noisy & windows won’t open so baking hot room. Breakfast was rubbish- the bread was stale, omelette bland, the butter rancid & they had no jam! Coffee acceptable. One grumpy guy (not one smile in 2 days) and one friendly guy.
Stayed as part of mekong delta tour with Tnk travel. Wouldn't have picked this myself. Reception was friendly and 24hour but they take your passports overnight. The room was average and dated. Huge old TV that made alot of static noise. Rock solid bed which I didn't get much sleep on. Bathroom was a nightmare I wore my jandals in there because it didn't look that clean. The shower was full of mould and the shower head was broken so you had to hold it to shower it was fully off the attachment. I didn't feel like I was getting clean in there. They did supply free water which was great. Breakfast choices were limited to eggs and bread. Definitely wouldn't stay here myself.
Stayed here as part of a tour group. The stairs leading up to the rooms was very narrow and steep. The elevator was tiny and didn't feel the safest. My husband and I had to go up separately in the elevator as it only held one person and one suitcase. The room was tiny and stuffy. The fridge didn't work. It was filthy with worn out towels, bath mat and bedding. Did not have a good sleep at all on the rock hard bed. We would never stay here if we were traveling on our own.
