Ok....let's be fair.... The room is ok. It has a huge comfy bed, warm shower, old fashioned tv but with cable channels, a noisy fridge and air con.
However, we've been away six months and the staff in the bakery that serve you are the RUDEST we have come across in South East Asia. When we say hello to them in Thai they ignore us! They have grumpy faces and are actually unpleasant to deal with. When we booked In we were shown a choice on the menu for a simple breakfast each day.... choice of eggs (scrambled or fried), well on two mornings out of the three they chose for us! And they slammed the plates down in front of us and pulled faces at us when we said we hadn't been asked what we wanted. Suddenly no option and they were down right rude! And the fried eggs served weren't fully cooked! There was also meant to be an option for tea or coffee but again some days they can't be bothered to ask you and make a choice for you. They give you one butter for two pieces of toast and a bread roll and want to charge you for an extra butter. When I aksed for another butter, I was given one but then the waitress tried to snatch it out of my hand when I refused to pay for it! I said I'd speak to her manager about it. She then walked off when ever we walked through the bakery. They really appear like they cannot be bothered with their jobs and show utter disrespect to paying visitors (and we are not here for sex tourism like previous review stated).
Having stayed here three nights we also noticed that the cakes and pastries sit there for days when unsold. They do not refresh every day. This is shocking practise from a 'European bakery' and not the expected standard in Europe where you get fresh produce every day!
Stayed here many times over the years Very quiet for sleeping and easy to get around as its behind the main through road in Hua Hin so you can walk to the shops or the beach in about 10 minutes Fresh bakery downstairs so you can eat whenever you want or take some snacks to your room for later
Rooms are cleaned daily and its very homely
We went to this hotel after we checked out early in another hotel because that was too far from the centre. This hotel is very close to the centre and relatively close to the beach and still it was quite here.
The staff couldn't speak a lot of English and they weren't happy to help you. The breakfast was okay, the rest of the menu a bit overpriced but doable.
The room was big and clean, nice bathroom and bed. The aircon was smelly so we didn't use it. We had to share the balcony with other guests, but that was acceptable for the price (850 baht, in the weekend).
The only thing that was a real disappointment was that there were many old Western man with young Thai girls. We were the only couple and it didn't feel comfortable. It felt bad to sit there amongst all those sextourists.
This is the second time we choose to stay at this place and it is still the same good as it was a year ago. Located in a walking distance from a railway station and the beach, also close to the night market.
Room is spacious and clean with a balcony. Free Wifi in the room. Staff was nice and helpful.
We enjoyed our lovely breakfast, which was included in the room price. Very good deal.
I used to like this place, but not any more. The foreign owner has sold out, to a Thai.
The staff try to ignore guests and customers, and don't seem to know what the room rates are. At 1000 TB a night for a room with a busted air con; flush toilet that kept trying to fill up for hours, and a soon-to-break balcony slide door, I checked out early- never to return. Five minutes walk away are many better options now, for a couple of hundred Baht more.
