Most popular question about the rooms
This might be a stupid question, but if you stay during the World Cup - what access is there to the racecourse, do you watch it in your room or what level access are you allowed?

You would be able to watch it from your room but you can buy tickets for various areas.

Let me start with the check-in process. Probably the fastest check-in I have experienced.

Portia, you are Amazing !! She was so polite, courteous and well-informed, that it made our stay even more pleasant. She was aware that we were celebrating our anniversary and upgraded us to a higher category room.

The room was spacious, spectacular view and a big bath tub. The products smell amazing and they even placed a cake for our birthday although its not a norm in Covid times.

Rooms are well Sanitized, and have a seal as soon as they are disinfected.

Overall a brilliant experience and would recommend this to anyone who wants a breathtaking view of the Meydan racecourse.

Spent one night in one of panoramic view suites and had a great time. Everything was cool, from fancy bathroom, private bar, view, and service. It’s a memorable contemporary urban luxury experience with a hint of equestrian class.

I am happy and impressed with the customer service, the immaculate cleanliness of the room and the public areas (except for one minor incident) and the design of the hotel. This place is perfect for a weekend stay away from our usual busy lives.

However, the best part about the hotel is actually its staff and their customer service.

Portia in the Front Office was our first pleasant surprise. She is one of the most accommodating, friendly and customer-service oriented hoteliers I ever met. Shalini was also quite helpful.

Another person that exceeded our expectations was Joseph, the lifeguard in the swimming pool. Considering the social distancing setup, the pool was a bit full with only a dining table available for us. We indicated to Joseph that we want to sit in one of the lounge chairs near the pool. He nodded that he will periodically check when one becomes available for us. We thought that he was just being polite, but after a couple of minutes, he actually came back and told us of a couple of chairs available for us. We went and were surprised to see that he has duly cleaned and sanitised the chairs for us to use. He even remembered that we wanted a place hidden from the sun, opposite of the usual requests in the pool.

One more amazing experience was during the buffet breakfast. Firstly, Jonna was amazingly efficient in finding us a table in a nice corner, correctly figuring out that we took social distancing and safety protocols quite seriously. Chef Suresh prepared our egg request that was not normally on the buffet table or egg station. The eggs benedict he prepared was one of the best I have ever tasted. Even the staff manning the bread and cheese station, as well as the main buffet table, were very helpful and friendly. It was simply amazing.

So the hidden treasure of the hotel is its people and their personalised and preferred customer service. Great job everyone.

A great few days at the Meydan relaxing by the pool, the lifeguards Mr Prasanna and his colleagues were so helpful & very friendly making sure I had everything I needed all day every day, I really appreciated this thank you for their kindness, it was also nice that the music by the pool was not so loud this time.

Your chief in Farriers is a credit to you, the food & dishes he and his team produce are the best I have tasted, these guys work so hard to make sure customers always come first and nothing is too much trouble, I hope they are recognised for the amazing food they produce & service they provide.

Breakfast was a very busy time, due to the current offers the hotel are running for local families and the staff seemed rushed off there feet most of the time, maybe a table order service (same as at Bab Al Shams) & more staff would be an option as social distancing was a challenge due to the families & children queuing for food, I used to know the food & beverage manager, he was always made sure the guests were greeted & well looked after, this was a great touch, but no idea who the F&B manger is now.

Housekeeping needs to be improved, not as good as previous stays, maybe you use agency staff rather than employ directly, always had to ask for towels, toiletries & replacement cups for the room. (missing the luxury touch now)

The staff at Meydan are lovely and always so very friendly & happy to help, nothing is too much trouble, they want to do everything they can to make your stay a happy one, lots of new staff as many of previous staff seem to have now left.

I am not sure. Maybe you should contact the hotel directly, they are in a better position to advise you. Good luck and enjoy your stay.

We booked online and no deposit was taken at that stage. It is commun practice though that hotels here require a deposit either on your credit card or cash if you come from abroad. Honestly I cannot give more details on the amounts as each hotel has its own policy. But you can always negotiate. Have a great stay in Dubai!!
