We spent 3 nights at the Director Hotel and were very happy with everything .
The hotel car service picked us up as arranged after a long flight and we were glad we d arranged this to save any hassle at the airport.
Although we got to the hotel at 11am we were very happy that at check in a very helpful young man found us a room straightaway--it perhaps helped that we were just ahead of a big tour group that were expected at any moment.
We were very happy with everything about our stay -the hotel is in a good area ,the room was clean, quiet and comfortable ,the breakfast was good and we particularly liked the small outdoor pool although we did think there should be more chairs for guests as when the tour group arrived there were nt enough.
As others have mentioned within a 10 minute walk there are two separate areas of nice restaurants plus a supermarket and within 25 minutes a very nice park.
We were happy not to be in the city centre with the recent unrest in Chile as walking around the area near the hotel in the evening was absolutely fine.
We would definitely recommend this hotel .
We stayed here from Christmas to the 30th of Dec 2019, and we enjoyed our stay more than we have at any other place, and we have roamed a number of countries and stayed at all sorts of hotels, some even priced twice what Hotel Director cost us.
For one, the staff is outstanding. Their training shows in their professional and yet totally friendly manner. Most of them speak high level of English, and have a very good idea of what makes a traveler's day, like the exact location of the closest ATM, or the fact that we'd need a taxi when we are checking out, so the driver is available right then to take our luggage.
The location is ideal: away from the burly of the city, but close enough that we could walk, or take a quick taxi to downtown.
The rooms are clean, and at least ours had a spectacular view of the Andes. Our triple room had a nice walk-in closet with ample hangers and nooks for shoes.
The bathroom was well furnished with lotions and shower-caps, and even had hair ties for the ladies!
There's a lovely pool area and dinner area, and the free breakfast has one of the best array of choice we have seen anywhere.
When we took an overnight trip to Valparaiso, we checked out (to return the next day), they held our luggage for free, and gave us a luggage-tag to document it.
I do want to take this space to apologize to the dinner staff: on our last day I returned my lemonade, asking for a smidge more honey in it. I'm afraid I did not convey my wishes well, and they must have thought I did not like it at all and they made the lemonade all again! But to set the record straight, that lemonade is the bomb: with honey and ginger and mint, it really cools you down. I recommend it to all visitors, whatever else you order!
I hope we get the opportunity to visit Santiago again, just so we can stay here once more.
Director Hotel--Vitacura exemplifies a great hotel stay. Stayed in a TRIPLE, which was spacious and comfortable. It had 2 queen-sized beds and a twin, plus two tables and a sofa and a walk-in closet! The beds were very comfortable and the pillows among some of the most comfortable I have experienced in a hotel in the last few years. We arrived at an off time (8am) because of our international flight, and the hotel was super accommodating. They stored our luggage in a secure area behind the desk both before our room was ready and when we checked out hours before we departed. Upon arrival, while waiting for a room we enjoyed coffee/breakfast at their restaurant. We were fortunate that they let us occupy our room once it was ready rather than have to wait for official check in time.
We stayed there for a week. Every day the breakfast staff welcomed us and the "help-yourself" breakfasts were varied and delicious. The reception desk staff were also very welcoming and friendly.
Having WIFI available free and two computers at the business area located next to the front desk was nice. There is also a bar, nice back area with couches, tables, for working and socializing. The pool was adequate and welcoming and the workout room had a good variety of equipment.
Restaurant was in a great location, with nice shopping, restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance.
Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour. Hotel lovely huge rooms and great choice at breakfast. Garden and pool area very nice. Outside dining area was covered so not too hot. Staff very friendly and helpful
This hotel was chosen by our tour operator as a 2 night stay before joining a cruise. The Hotel room was huge, and very quiet, with a lovely shower too! Could not fault the room, 2 large double beds, sofa, dining table and chairs, walk in wardrobe, Ironing board and iron and safe, plus a lovely shower in the bathroom.
The location is in the BEST area and wealthiest areas of Santiago, with luxury shops just a short walk away which was a very pleasant walk indeed. Superb restaurants nearby too. We felt totally safe whilst walking around that area of the city and it was a delight!
The hotel staff were all super helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them to help us, everything was greeted with a smile and done quickly.
Nice but small outdoor pool with a small outdoor seating area, which was a delight to rest in.
