Don't confuse the Harbourview with the Renaissance Harbourview which is only two blocks away. The cab driver may take you there unless you tell him that it's the Harbourview, No.4 Harbour Road that you're after. The Renaissance is definitely a 5 star hotel so you might feel a little let down if you see that one first! Having said that though, the Harbourview Hotel is a great place to stay without spending big. We stayed on the 15th floor in a Premium Harbourview Room. Granted the room wasn't very big, nor were the beds, it was definitely nice enough if your main goal is sightseeing and going out of an evening and not be couped up in a hotel room. The view of the harbour and Kowloon was nice and there is evidently construction going on in an area to the left of the hotel but we never heard any noise whatsoever. The safe, LCD TV and air con all worked fine. The bathroom was modern and clean, and the rotating shower spray was perfect. We had complimentary buffet breakfasts on the 1st floor restaurant each morning and the food selection was pretty good; hash browns, scrambled eggs, baked beans, sausages, ham, cereals, French toast, salad, Chinese noodles, juices, coffee, etc. The omelette station where a chef who would cook you an omelette as requetsed was a nice touch. The lobby, lifts and hallways were spotless and there were always staff busy cleaning, etc. The staff in general were extremely friendly and spoke good English, and would go out of their way to help with enquiries or requests. Room service was quick and efficient and without any fuss. The location of the hotel is pretty central. It's an approx 5 - 8 minute walk to the Star Ferry Pier Wan Chai, and it's about the same to the Wan Chai underground station. It's a short taxi ride to the Peak Tram station and Central train station, both costing about $20 or $30 HKG which is peanuts. The area two blocks behind the hotel has many bars and clubs but also a great deal of strip clubs with hordes of girls lining the streets and encouraging you to come in. So if you're after the family version of going out then head to ever-busy Lan Kwai Fong, a mecca for tourists and nightlife, and which is only a short taxi ride from the hotel as well. Overall, a great place to stay and I would come back again.

This hotel is just 100 meters away from Hongkong Convention and Exhibiton Centre and that makes this hotel very useful. The rooms we stayed were overlooking to the harbour. Very nice view. The rooms were quite reasonably priced this time. Although rooms very little small but that is what you expect in hongkong. Rooms on higher floors and numbers after 6/8 and increasing are better because they have better view of the harbour. The room service is really fast. Whenever we ordered for plates, glasses, spoons, extra water bottles...all came very fast. The bell service was also very fine. On the whole worth place to stay.

The hotel is located near the HK exhibition Center, and it's a 8-10 minute walk from the wanchai MTR station. We took the cab from central IFC And it costs under HKD$30. So not a bad location!
The room is small but very neat. Everything is simple but elegant. Things are tidy and towels are clean. As we arrived late, we ordered room service. The quesadilla was alright. Not cheesy enough. The beef/ steak was very salty though. The tiramisu was weird. Felt like some kinda of mousse instead. Lacked the coffee flavour.
As our room includes breakfast, we went to its breakfast buffet in the morning. It was horrible. Little selection of food, and they even ran out of milk, fruits, and pancakes 🙄🙄 speechless LOL

I spent 3 nights at this hotel in early September 2013. If you're looking for a good business hotel which is economical and convenient from a daily travel point of view then this certainly is the place. The hotel is clean, the rooms are small but tidy. I didn't have a chance to sample room service or check out their in house restaurant. Staff is good - a special mention for a young bellboy named Robin who was always smiling and friendly. He was courteous, spoke decent English and went out of his way to give us great customer service. The best part about this hotel is it's location. If you're going to HK for a convention or exhibition at the HK Convention center, then there is no better place than this. It is literally a 5 minute walk. It is also close enough to the Wan Chai MTR station on the HK side and therefore gives you pretty much complete access to HK and Kowloon.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for writing us a piece of compliment on TripAdvisor.com. We are glad to know that you enjoyed your stay with us and you are satisfied with our convenient location, transportation network as well as the cleanliness and tidiness in the guestroom. Your appreciation on the service delivered by our staff, Robin, is well noted too. Your words would be communicated to him and our Front Office team duly.
Your comment on our room size is acknowledged. Please understand that we have been trying our best to offset this drawback with our price and prime location. Actually we do have other room categories which are larger than the regular ones that you may consider for your next stay with us. If you would like to have further details, please contact our Reservation Department via email at reservation@theharbourview.com.hk or visit our hotel’s official website.
We are aware that you did not patronize our restaurants or order room service during your stay. Kindly note that our hotel has 2 dining places, Harbour Restaurant on the 1/F serves lavish buffets during breakfast, lunch and dinner hours, while Mezz Floor on the M/F serves drinks and light snacks throughout the day. You are the most welcomed to try one of them during your next visit.
Thank you again for your positive comment. We will keep up the good work certainly and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

On arrival, after a long trip, we were pleasantly surprised by the staff at the desk who not only found us a smoking room but also sorted us an upgrade, many thanks to you Mr Daniel Wong! From this auspicious start things only got better, little things like a plug adaptor in the room, the room light control panel all right next to the bed and good brewing facililities. The room and bathroom were well sized and had a bath - something you dont take for granted living in the Philippines! Location wise the hotel is 5 mins from everything, buses, trams and the MTR as well as lively markets and all the shops. Room service - as in most hotels - is slightly expensive but the burger we ordered was delicious and much needed ;) Our one visit to the Mezz. Restaurant delivered good food and large portions but there are plenty of excellent local restaurants and I would recommend those with the Mezz coming in a close second. Decor wise, no its not the most up to date but this in no way affects the stay as the room is basically used for sleeping not interior design critiques, ooh and the matress is hard, not to everyones taste but suits my Dad and I to a tee. The view was over Victoria Harbour although roadworks near the HKEC do spoil it a little. All in all we would definitely stay here again.

Dear Incey W,
Thank you for choosing The Harbourview, and thank you for your positive rating and valuable comments on our location, facilities and services. Your compliments make our day!
We are happy to hear that your stay at The Harbourview was started auspiciously. It was our pleasure to arrange a smoking room for you with an upgrade especially when the condition was flexible. We have forwarded your kind words to Daniel. He and all the Front Desk staff were very happy and were grateful for your encouraging comments.
We are centrally located in Wan Chai district where commercial blocks, restaurants and bars, shops and market are within walking distance. It is great to know that you explored the district and enjoyed the local restaurants nearby. Thank you for your compliments on the dishes Mezz Floor provided. Please feel welcome to relish our themed dinner buffet featuring an enticing array of scrumptious delights at Harbour Restaurant during your next visit.
The construction work in front of the harbour is managed by Hong Kong SAR Government, and is expected to be completed in 2017. The work will bring The Harbourview a new MTR station connecting us to the major parts of the city in a second.
Once again, thank you so much for your kind words. We hope you will enjoy staying at The Harbourview again during your next visit. We look forward to seeing you in the near future. Thank you for supporting The Harbourview.
