I have stayed at the Intercontinental Hong Kong at least six times over the last 15 years. While the property has aged, it has done so gracefully. From the first views of the harbor from the lobby, to the spectacular picture window views of the harbor from the rooms, to drinks at the lobby bar, it has all been spectacular. There is nothing like watching the laser light show over the harbor or the Star Ferries coming and going from Central, while having a drink in the lobby bar, to remind you that you are visiting one of the most exotic cities on earth. It is also the little things that make the hotel special, like William Ng leading early morning Tai Chi, the hot and cold (very cold) dip pools overlooking the harbor and the largest and best quality breakfast buffet I've ever seen. My hope is that with the renovation, those things that have been critical to creating this wonderful, exotic feeling aren't lost. Thanks for the memories and how about keeping your fans updated on your progress?

This was the 2nd time we stayed in this 5* hotel, with great restaurants & buffet, good facilities (outdoor pool, spa & fitness centre) & good location (about 20 mins to the Star Ferry).

We stayed in a premier full harbour view room, which had a lovely view over the Kowloon Bay. Staff were friendly & helpful & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed at the Intercontinental for 5 nights in December .
Our 2 rooms were lovely and the staff were attentive and welcoming . A cuddly panda toy was on the bed for my youngest child on arrival which was a lovely idea.
The club lounge service was brilliant as was the service in the Harbouside restaurant.
The pool area was good with an lovely infinity pool /hot tub with amazing views over the harbour .
This has to be one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in .

We stayed here for a night’s staycation, and were well looked after. The hotel generally has quite a formal approach, but everything worked well. The rooms have stunning views across the harbour, and the outdoor pool is pleasant too.

After disembarking our cruise we stayed 2 nights in the Intercontinental.
We liked the hotel a lot. Very nice and attentive staff. The hotel has a nice lobby overlooking the bay. We enjoyed a very good coffee in the lobby.
Room was overlooking the bay and the skyline of Hongkong Island. Bed was very comfy. Room and bathroom were perfect and so clean.
We really enjoyed our stay.
Pool and hottubs are beautiful located. Because the weather was cold and we were having a bad cold we didn't use these facilities.
We didn't have any meals, so can't say anything about the food.We usually skip the, in our opinion, expensive food in hotels.
Location is fine, lots of shops and restaurants.
Close by, on the boulevard is a little restaurant where you can get a coffee and a pastry for breakfast.
We had a great stay and would love to come back one day.

Questions & answers about the pool

Oct 2019 |
Dear rwps, Thank you for your inquiry. Referring to your question. Please kindly be informed that our Superior Junior Suite is a studio suite and the room size is approximately 530 sq. feet. The Suite is essentially facing to the hotel swimming pool / piazza area. There is very limited view of the harbour in this room. To avoid any disappointment, you may consider to reserve our Deluxe Junior Suite, the room size is approximately 550 sq. feet and it is in the center of our property and guaranteed a full view of the Victoria Harbour with this room category. Hope the above information are useful. Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to let us know again. Wishing you a wonderful day!

Dear everton99, Thank you for your inquiry and finds interest for booking InterContinental Hong Kong in January, 2020. Referring to your inquiry, pleased to let you know that our swimming pool will be available in the whole month of January, 2020 unless unexpected maintenance. Our neighbour building next door has been completed and has re-opened recently. It is highly suggested to reserve the harbour view room in advance to guarantee the beautiful view of the Victoria harbour. Furthermore, we are very happy to share that there is no minimum charge for our in-house guest at Lobby Lounge. The minimum charge of HKD160 applies to non-in-house guest only at every evening from 9PM onward. Hope the above information is useful. Should you require any room reservation or further assistance, please do not hesitate to let us know again. Wishing you a wonderful day!

What is the pool temperature ? is the pool heated ?
Answer from Dean T

Sorry did not use the pool as it was too cold outside for me (I come from Sydney...). My friend did use the pool and he said it was a nice temperate level (and he's not a desperate to swim type either, so this is praise).
