Checked in at the hotel on the 8 Mar, room 626.
No computer or business center available for traveller as previously stay.
Talk to Mr Ban, Duty Manager, he replied the computer was broken and it's in the hand of IT manger for repairing (Good excuse and blaming).
The room is outdated and the drain in the shower was blocked, water was up to the ankle with rubbish when I had shower, the hot tap water was leaked, whenever I turned it on, half of the hot water leaked, so the water pressure was too weak, got into the bath tub, the shower head was not working. Internet connection was out, Reported to the night duty manager on early Monday morning, he promised to change to another room.later in the day, also asked him about the computer for traveller to use: he said the management decided to withdraw that computer due to not many demand from customer.
Came back around mid day, met Mr Ban,Day Duty Manager, checked about the promised swap room, he said: the problems were fixed and no need to change to new room. Also he mentioned: Hotel IT manager is waiting for the replacement part(The Harddisk), it could take up tp 6 months due to the Convid-19 in China, no harddisk is available, while the IT Stores are about 5 minutes drive from the hotel in or around the Old City with ton of Harddisk drives available for sale. So there was a controversy between its two duty mangers.
Back to the room, The shower drain (Shower cubic) is still blocked, the shower head and hot water tap were not fixed. They only fixed the shower head of the bathtub.
Went back to see the same Night Duty manager on Tuesday morning, brought to him the same problem which I told him on Monday morning. He promised to change to another room once again by mid day.
To the new room 927, the shower head inside the shower cubic was not working properly, water flowing was to weak. No internet connection at first few hours, went back to reception and complained about the issues, was promised to send Manager and IT guy up to install an access point in the room. None of this available or happening till I checked out on Saturday morning same as no explanation.
So tired and sick with all the issues and no respond with all of my request, I gave up and went to DTAC in Maya shopping mall, purchased an internet package and used my mobile phone as an access point to browse the internet same as send/ receive emails.
Mr Ban, Day Duty Manager is a BIG LIAR, he should honestly explain to customer about the hotel's situation, he should monitor all the complaints from customers and verifying the repairing by his staffs, he didn't not need to create a story and assumed we are little kids same as blaming the hotel IT manager.
As Furama First Gold member since 2013, I frequently stayed with Furama Group in Singapore, Furama Silom, Furama FX Pattaya and Furama Bukit Bintang in the past, all the properties have its business center or a dedicated computer for traveller to use during their stays, for airline check-in, printing (Chargeable), browsing internet etc... I believe Furama Chiang Mai should provide the same facility as it provided in the past (my last stay in Feb 2019), or chargeable fees per use when requested by customer.
Apart from the above issues, I would like to thank all the front desk's staffs, Concierge and room maids, they are friendly, helpful and provided good caring with all my request. I understand that they all have their limitation and they are not person(s) to blame.
Hope this will help the Hotel management will change its direction in the future for returning or new customers.
