We stayed in the outside pod-type room, which was incredible - the view of the countryside, and the sounds of nature was so relaxing!
The rooms were really clean and spacious with Le Corbusier furniture, the beds were really comfy and the showers were hot and powerful - and we were just a short walk to the main hotel & restaurant.
The family running the hotel were really friendly and helped us out with a guide of Leeuwarden and highlighted the 'must-see' spots. We rented electric bikes and took a short tour of the local villages, which was great fun and really easy to get around!
The breakfast was delicious and the ambience of the dining hall was really calming, we stayed there for ages and really enjoyed the delicious local Frisian Suikerbrood (sugar bread).
If we come back to the area, we would absolutely 100% stay here again!

Your expectation will definitely come true here. We were there in a stormy and rainy weekend and still enjoyed the room. You would imagine that you were the only one present as the rooms are situated in such a way that you have 100&% privacy. The room offers all you would expect. Suggestion is to combine it with a booking in the restaurant. A great experience with a surprising menu. Friendly and professional service and only a few meters to go back to your room.

Extremely comfortable hotel with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Perfect, very quiet location 6 km from Leeuwarden. The breakfast is outstanding. The hotel's restaurant is excellent. The whole place invites you to have a relaxed time with subdued conversation. From the rooms "outside" you sit in a comfortable sofa in your bedroom and sees nothing but sky and nature - not the other rooms or people.

Stayed in a Room with a View (cube) and we were seriously impressed. The view was spectacular, the bed was super comfy and the experience very enjoyable. It was a hot weekend in Friesland so we enjoyed a meal in the hotel restaurant, which was one of the nicer meals I’ve had in this country.

Got an incredible nights sleep, then returned for breakfast which was the classic Dutch breads and spreads, featuring delicious brown bread and great jams.

We will absolutely return.

No, I am joking, as this part of Friesland is as flat as it gets !
This establishment was previously a farm and has been revamped as a boutique hotel with a lot of care for detail.

We stayed there for 3 nights, initially because Leeuwarden itself was heavily booked, and we never regretted that decision. If you have your own car or motorbike, it is only 20 min to town.

There is a cosy, friendly atmosphere in this place, rooms are spotless and well equipped. There are either rooms in the old farm house or futuristic looking separate cubes standing in the fields. Probably a matter of personal choice.

Our room (nr. 12) in the main building had one drawback: as it is located above the storage room of the (very good) restaurant, you could hear the compressor of the cooling system at night. The owner offered us to give us a different room, but we politely declined. Yet, try not to get nr. 12!

Room Tip: just avoid nr. 12, the cubicles in the fields must be very quiet, if it matters to you.
