We stayed for 1 night in January 2014, we got a grab one voucher but when we rang up were told we had to pay an extra 40 dollars which we did (not sure why). The woman we spoke to wasnt very friendly, she didn't write our e mail address down pcorrectly so when we turned up at the apartments and realised there was no reception we were told we had to pick the keys up from a different hotel which was at least a 10 minute walk away which didn't help because it was pouring with rain. The lady didn't apologise just said that she had e mailed us to tell us, which she hadn't. Room was average, nice views. Plenty of better places in queenstown I wouldn't waste your time staying here.
We stayed at the heritage 2 weeks ago. We had awesome service from the team at the front desk. And the room was tidy and pretty good value for money. Unfortunately when we went to the bar and had ordered some drinks and food we were left with a raw burger and my salmon salad was a few strips of salmon with a lettuce leaf underneath it. We complained and were told our meals would be replaced. After A few minutes of waiting the bar manager came over and said she would replace the burger but not the salad and I would be charged for it (i hadn't even taken one bite) and it was my fault that I wasn't expecting a entree sized meal (even though it was never advertised as one). We ended getting one free drink for the burger. Really disappointed by this experience and the found the bar manager extremely rude.
Great location but Do not trust the photos advertised online. the facilities are nothing like that. We paid a premium room rate of around NZD$400 a night for a 3 bedroom apartment for 3 nights but at checking in we were asked to pay an additional $50 for a WiFi access. There was no toilet rolls, dish washing liquid, washing powder or hand soap provided. No linen changing, no bin collection... Pans and pots are dirty. We had to drive down to super market to get all essentials to clean up. The house is extremely poorly built. Many light bulbs were out. Kids bathroom has direct and easy access to roof top with no fence! Very dangerous!! I wonder how this place passed the Code of Building Compliances in the first place!
We had unit 16 which was at the entrance end. This provided an outside area plus table as well as the 3 bedrooms. The outside area would be of great use with stunning views down the lake and over Queenstown in the warmer part of the year, unfortunately we didn't use it given it was winter. The views from the lounge, dining, kitchen and each of the bedrooms is nothing less than spectacular being able to see down the lake to Walter Peak, the gondola restaurant and the central part of Queenstown.
Proximity to the town is just a few minutes walk though it is a steady to steep climb from the CBD.
Plenty of heating units in the stairway and each of the bedrooms and a heat pump for the lounge, dining and kitchen area so we were warm despite the time of the year.
There were a couple of minor hassles caused by earlier tenants (breakages, items missing) but this were rapidly attended to after a simple phone call.
