Receptionist and housekeeping staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Unit 3 was large and very clean. Bathroom was spotless and very modern. The rest of the unit was less modern but certainly comfortable and spacious with a large kitchen with all the basics for motel meal preparation including a large tea pot which is often lacking. We were very impressed that there was only a "swish" of traffic noise despite being near the road. Lovely thick dark curtains which made the room perfect for sleeping. Large comfortable bed. Next to a park and took us 20 minutes to walk to River walk. I would have preferred brighter lights in the kitchen and livng area but would stay again. I did not have time to use the heated pool but it looked inviting.

We stayed in the family two bedroom apartment. It was a wild eclectic mix of brand new and classic motor inn circa 1970. The added fun element was that any one swimming in the pool could look directly into the apartment (so close the curtains!). The stand out was the bathrooms - brand new and perfectly appointed. Best shower throughout rural NZ! The apartment was huge, and had a massive kitchen (but its age did not inspire any cooking!). I thoroughly appreciated the plunger coffee!!

The bedrooms were spacious and the beds a wee tired. But each room had AC available and were a quiet retreat.

We stayed at a standard studio next to the lawn, which was spacious and well-equipped. The building itself is old but as other guests noted it seems to be being revamped. The bathroom was practically brand new and fully tiled - very clean and modern. The heat pump (which we used for air con) and large TVs were also very new. Plus free wifi! These are what matter to me the most when I’m away from home. The kitchen and bed (the true king size) seemed to be dated but very clean nonetheless. The room provided us a comfortable, refreshing stay between hiking at Hakarimata and cycling along the new Te Awa cycleway. We were pleasantly surprised.
There was ample space for off-street parking, which seemed pretty secure (cctv monitored). They also had a pool and laundry but we didn’t use them so can’t comment.

My room was quite dated and kitchen facilities not what they could have been. The bathroom was tired and not quite as clean as it could have been. The carpet in the hallway wasnt the best and pool area needs a real clean up. Staff were friendly but explanation on room locality and parking wasnt the best.

We had the 2 bedroom unit by the pool. It was very dated. The couch was very uncomfortable with a board in the middle. The decor, flower arrangement and pictures on the walls were depressing. The sheets weren't crispy but very creased. It didn't have a nice feel and if you drew the curtains you could see what people were doing in the pool. The bathroom had been renovated and had new cabinet, shower and floor but no where to hand your clothes or towel. Toilet was so small difficult to squeeze in and shut the door. Staff very warm and friendly and helpful. I wouldn't stay here again sorry.
