We had a bit of a job actually getting to the hotel when we arrived in Lindau as there was major works being carried out on the nearby railway lines and several approach roads were cordoned off - we eventually arrived and parked in the huge underground car park - the hotel appears to be staffed by a number of smart young men who are extremely polite and helpful - 1970's hotel which could do with a spot of paint on the exterior, but inside very well decorated - our room was large, comfortable and spotlessly clean - it's about a 15 minute flat walk along the side of the railway lines onto the old town island of Lindau - a very beautiful place to visit and enjoy - excellent breakfast !
Super loud. Allows people to sit outside of dining area and party all night and its below a bunch of rooms.
And the train is next to hotel.
No life for 2 flights of luggage was not easy.
The bathroom is the smallest bathroom you will ever be in. Its hard to move around, and to shower you bang against the faucets.
Way toooo expensive for area and the room was so small, the beds are too soft.
I’ve just returned from 2 nights at Max Hotel. It is a bit pricey for it’s location (about 15 minutes from the centre of Lindau island) and does feel removed from it. The WiFi was somewhat good, the service was very courteous, and they have free, limited parking.
Lindau island is accessed via a rail line, which is more like a long park. The neighbourhood is quiet but please note that a trains run behind the hotel, making opening the windows in the back noisy. As such, the rooms have no a/c and my room was boilingly hot. If you are staying in hot weather be careful, and good luck.
With my wife, we stay here for a long weekend and we had really good experience. Our room was a little bit small but everything in it was nice, clean and almost new. The breakfast was extremely good, they were offering almost all what is possible!
In the hotel, you can also find fitness and sauna.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Maxhotel for two nights in late April and we had an extremely positive experience. The weather was unseasonably awful and there was pretty much non stop very heavy rain during our stay, but the owner / manager went above & beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. We were upgraded free of charge to a larger deluxe room, which was extremely comfortable, modern & well laid out with nice toiletries in the bathroom. As well as recommending local restaurants to try out, he also gave us a half bottle of local wine upon check out as a gesture for the 'bad weather', this was a very nice touch & was very generous. The hotel breakfast was a very good spread with lots of options and we enjoyed it hugely. Parking was not an issue but it might be during a busier time of year as there are not very many hotel spaces. All in all a very good experience.
