I may need to question the other reviews and the ratings. The B&B is located on busy square and the vehicle noise is constant presence. There is a heavy smell of tobacco smoke in each room. The breakfast is not served on premises. The pictures of the breakfast served on the patio is at best misleading. You are issued vouchers and instructed to go to the bar a few blocks away where you are entitled for a cup of coffee and a croissant. The private external bathroom is not private and is located in the corridor that is accessed by other guests. The room needs painting, there were stains on the blanket and there were mosquitos in the room. No one cleans the room if you stay more than one day. The owner is nice but speaks very little English. This is cash only establishment. The only positive is the central location, very close to the old town.
The B&B is in an old “palazzo” which has retained some style. It takes 5 minutes to walk from the station to reach the entrance on via Atenea, the main street of Agrigento.
There is no lift. The stairway is fairly long so you need to be fit and able bodied.
The owner welcomes you in the most friendly and true old fashioned Italian way. He is very helpful in telling you which bus to take or which restaurants to go to.
The room was perfectly fine for 2 people. The furniture is in keeping with the building. The bed is large with a firm mattress. There is a large wardrobe, a safe, desk, a tv and 2 chairs.
The bathroom is fine with shower, WC, bidet, sink, mirror and hair dryer. There are 2 stone columns making it classy and giving you the feeling you’re in a palace.
Both bedroom and bathroom are clean.
The central heating works at night so you wake up in a warm room. Important in March!
Breakfast is on the top floor (no lift). It’s a simple breakfast but absolutely fine.
Located in center of the historical area, it is a wise choice to stay here to look around the town and valley of temple. Considering the location, the room is quite and large enough. The breakfast room is located on top of the building, with a nice view from terrace. With fresh fruit and ready made brioche, the breakfast was very nice.
Wifi is available with good connection. You need to get the password at the time of check-in.
The master is a very kind person, I'm sure everyone will enjoy the stay here. I stayed in Agrigento 4 years ago, alone, and this time I have returned with my wife. Having good time on every stay here, without hesitation I will chose to stay here again if I have a chance to return.
The room in the B&B was spotlessly clean and pleasantly spacious. Breakfast was good with fresh orange juice and decent coffee. Off-season price (80 Euro) is on the pricey end of the market but probably worth it.
We stayed one night at this B&B. Room was fine with a view onto a busy main street. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace and whilst the view is good, the breakfast was disappointing. We paid €100 per couple which was expensive compared to what we paid in Palermo, Cefalu, Catania and Syracuse for far better accommodation. The owner is very pleasant with little English so take your phrase book with you. Parking is at the railway station and costs €8.50 overnight. My recommendation would be to stay closer to the Valley of the Temples as Agrigento is not a pretty town.
