Calciufetta is like a big apartment with three rooms available for three bookings.
It is 15-20 min walk from Alghero city center and 25-30 minutes walk from Lido beach.
Located on the second floor, it would not be accessible for wheelchairs (just thought someone might find this information useful).
The place has free wifi, AC, two bathrooms, a shared living room together with the kitchen.
In the kitchen, the guests can have free breakfast organized by the owner (includes coffee/tea, juice, corn flakes, milk, toasts, jam/honey, yoghurt and some pastry), and have their own food during the day. The usage of the fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and toaster are allowed.
Our room was quite spacious, with two separate beds and a door leading to the balcony. The balcony is not private (shared with another room) but gives a nice view to the street. It is possible to hang wet swimsuits or clothes there in case of need.
Air conditioner was there, working well. Bed was comfortable enough. Towels were provided.
The doors in the apartment make quite a lot of noise so it might disturb those who hear everything when sleeping. For me, it was not a problem as I sleep like dead lol.
The thing I liked a lot is cleanliness. The woman comes to clean the apartment every day, and she is doing amazing job. Cheers to her.
In general, the atmosphere is good and I felt like home. It was a good place to come after long walks and relax.
Special grazie to Claudio for solving the problem with the website booking and offering an alternative solution.
you get what you pay! It's a quiet place and breakfast is generous. But... even there are signs everywhere not to smoke, in the toilets (especially the small one) there is almost a constant bag cigarette smell from the owner.
The doors make noise and if you don't sleep like a rock most likely you will get waken by other guests, the glass bedroom doors are not sound proof for sure.
Our aircon broke during the stay, we were provided with a fan which was really good, but not able to have it through the night as it makes too much noise. Being the end of the season we knew it wouldn't get fixed... oh well. overall the owner is very helpful and kind. walkable to town centre within 20min, beach another 10-15min.
wifi signal was poor in the room but it did work.
We were there for 8 nights and our room was done once (although we didn't get the sign to be done more often, so I would like to think if you requested it would be done).
the room had a safe
From the moment we arrived the host, Claudio, made me and my friend feel very welcome. He was extremely helpful and kind. There was a delicious bottle of wine waiting for us in the bedroom, and a fabulous chocolate banana cake sending gorgeous aromas through the house another evening! I felt completely at home in Calciufetta. The breakfast was perfect, plenty of selection and the best coffee I have had in a B&B ever. I will definitely stay there again if I ever go back to Alghero.
I stayed here 6 nights with the occasion of going to a friend's wedding.
It was the best choice, half an hour from the airport, 20 minutes from city center and the beach.
The room was cleaned every day, the breakfast with lots of choices and also a nice touch from the host we received homemade cakes almost every day.
I liked very much the welcome gift and receiving of cakes on the day when we arrived. This and free wi-fi completed my positive review of Calciufetta.
At Calciuffeta we stayed 6 nights in June 2012.The B & B is about 15-20 minutes from the seaport. The host was very hospitable and also helped us with information about Alghero. The room is fairly large, clean and has air conditioning and TV. Claudio had for us very good home made cookies and an welcome gift. It is a good location to go with your friends or family.
