We are just back from a week's stay at Villa Rosa, in a lake view room with balcony, and had a fantastic week. Our room was spotlessly clean with a nice view, owners Patricia and Diego were welcoming and extremely helpful, with advice on local amenities, and buses, and gave us discount vouchers for ferries and more, along with local maps and leaflets. Shower was powerful, always hot water, lots of white towels and toiletries. Comfortable bed and lots of storage space, with a security safe. As the nights were hot, the air conditioning was fantastic.
The rate included breakfast, which was the best we have had, with cereals, fruit, nuts, yoghurt, pastries and cakes, and cold meat, cheese, eggs, bacon, toast and tea/coffee. Laura and Andrea looked after us extremely well at breakfast, always cheery and helpful, it was a lovely start to each day.
The location is ideal, on shuttle bus route to old town and castle (1 euro), but also very short walk to Columbare which had supermarket, cafes, and the bus stop to Verona. 20 minute walk to old Sirmione. Right across from the hotel (by the ice cream parlour) are a couple of lovely lakeside restaurants, and a grassy beach area with sunbed hire and watersports/swimming. Beware there are mosquitoes in the evening but that's inevitable by a lake in summer.
On the walk to the old town there are shops, grassy park areas and a great crazy golf course. There are beaches in Sirmione which looked good, loads of people in the water.
I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, it's charming. The owners ordered us taxis, and even helped me out when I needed a doctor. We would love to return some time in the future.
Villa Rosa is a small hotel just over 2 kilometres from Sirmione old town and Scaligera castle. The hotel is run by members of a family who are all eager to serve you and do their best to ensure you have a lovely holiday. They have a great knowledge of the surrounding area and can supply maps and timetables and discounted vouchers for boat services and nearby restaurants. Buffet breakfast has a wide variety of food including scrambled eggs and bacon. Our room was bright and airy and spotlessly clean. The many shops and restaurants in the old town are about half an hour's walk away, at least at the pace we walked, but there is a regular bus service running frequently in the summer months and two per hour at other times. If you need a taxi from Verona Airport you can arrange this in advance with the hotel. Villa Rosa is highly recommended. One of our nicest holidays.
Great service, room and location. This was a vacation experience that I was sad to leave, we had a great time. Excellent food for every meal. Located right across from the lake and a short walk to the village.
After staying here for a few nights didn’t mind my room’s decoration at all, started to appreciate the location and surroundings and super kindness of owners. Room and bathroom good size enough. Loved wine sipping on balcony with a view to the lake. Good curtains which make room dark black :). Good breakfast. Excellent restaurants nearby and activity center at lakeside
We stayed 5 nights at villa Rosa. To put it simply -it was great. We had a comfortable, lovely room with a view of the peninsula. The room was not fancy but it was of good size was very clean, quite with comfortable beds and amenities.
Breakfast was amazing. There was a wide selection of food, all was fresh and so tasty.
The owners (Laura, Patrizia and Diego) are cordial, hospitable, welcoming, helpful, with great knowledge of the whole area which they are happy to share with their guests. The service even included an unexpected Valet parking with your car always parked facing the exit !!!
The hotel is perfectly located close to the old city on one side and close to the city centre on the other side. Opposite the hotel is a bus stop and an ice cream shop which makes wonderful ice cream.
Though not fancy, I heartily recommend this hotel.
