Lovely hotel. Great location. Good sized room with a large en suite. Very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Due to Covid the breakfast is served buffet style from behind a screen. Drinks are served to your table. Thank you for a lovely stay and I would definitely stay again.
It is located the center of the famous city of kings, next to two old churches. The price includes a buffet breakfast. The parking is fee based. The room was nice and the bathroom was very big. However, there is absolutely no early check in. For breakfast, you'd better go there early otherwise you would get a feeling of eating leftovers as they don't seem to refill.
This hotel was fab! It's super clean and tidy. The location is in the centre of the city, but at the same time in a quiet one way system which was wonderful. It meant we had a short walk to all the action but we were also able to sit outside for breakfast without suffering the noise and pollution you would expect from such a central location.
The rooms are reasonably well serviced, there is no mini-bar, but sparkling water and haribo sweeties are placed in the room during servicing every day. The toiletries are basic but sufficient. There is free wifi although you have to ask for a code from the hotel reception.
The breakfast is delicious. On the busy Saturday morning we had to wait for the hot buffet to be restocked, on the plus side the scrambled eggs were freshly cooked but the bacon was underdone. On the quieter Sunday morning the bacon was deliciously crisp but the scrambled eggs were completely overdone from being in the heated serving dishes for too long.
Be aware, if you drive to this hotel, you must book parking in advance as the hotel car park is shared and spaces are limited.
We loved this hotel and would definitely return to stay in it and recommend it very highly for it's superb location and reasonable pricing.
For what we paid we got a spacious room with big shower, free parking, free Wifi and good selection of warm/cold breakfast. It is a non-frill hotel but has lots of characteristics. If you pay attention you would see that part of the building was the remain of the ancient ruins and some of the ancient artifacts are displayed throughout the hotel (even in our room!). This is a training hotel but staff are very competent, helpful and friendly. For its value for money and comfortable atmosphere, I would recommend Hotel Aspethera over very standardized and business-like hotels whether you come for business or pleasure.
Hotel Aspethera is located near Paderborn Dom Square which hosts farmer's market on Saturday mornings. It is within walking distance to all the good restaurants in the city center, as well as the pedestrian shopping street which leads to the train station (but a bit of walk if you have suitcases). The restaurant in the hotel is worth trying out as well.
I've stayed in many places and found they don't live up to their billing. I was skeptical about this place as the website didn't seem to have as much information as I wanted in English but I booked it for a business trip at short notice thinking it looked the best of a bad bunch. How wrong. Staff very very helpful. Room and bathroom not massive but well fitted. Breakfast great. Underground parking. For the money it blew me away. I won't go anywhere else in Paderborn now.
