Stayed with son 9 years in this hotel in a room with one bed. Our room was on the top floor. Wonderful location, convenient and comfortable hotel. It is worth noting that the owner of the hotel Mark is responsible and attentive to the guests. This rarely happens. The room is clean, there is everything you need and even more. We have something to compare. When staying in other hotels in London did not feel as comfortable as in this hotel. We had certain wishes for hotel accommodation, and Mark decided everything without problems.Thank you very much for this. We will come back here and will recommend the hotel to friends.

Mark was friendly and explained about the rooms by the time we checked in. The rooms were spacious and attached with kitchen. It is not far from the train station as well. Our rooms were located in basement and there was no lift provided. Please take note if you bring heavy luggage, you will need to use the staircase if your room is located at the basement like us. Overall, we had our great stay in this apartment.

The nearest train station was in a rough neighborhood. I feared for our safety and was afraid we would be robbed.

We told our host we would arrive at around 7-8am but he did not meet us.

The toilet looked like it was from the seventies, all beat up and not cleaned since then. A giant resident dirty drain fly flew into our faces when we entered the bathroom. We were surprised at how large it had grown. It was much bigger than our collection in our bathroom although we live in the tropics, next to forests.

The shower was binary, it was either skin-melting hot or ice-cold. We were lucky to stay only two nights as we would not shower again. The hot water in the sink lasted for seconds before it was only cold water left. The toilet couldn't flush due to the owners trying to save water so we had to fill it up with water from the shower using a heavily scratched, cooking pot that found in the kitchen.

The electric stoves were broken and malfunctioning. They light up only when you put it to high heat levels of 7-9. 1-6 did not work. When the stoves lit up, it was for a couple of seconds and it resembled twinkling Christmas lights. It was only because we had a cast iron pot with us that we were able to cook.

The Wi-Fi did not work at all. The host was too cheap to buy routers. Whenever you connected to any one of the Wi-Fi, networks, the signal would drop to zero.

There was no air conditioning so we had to open the windows which was located next to the main road so it was noisy, smelling of people smoking on the streets and walking by. In the night, there were airplanes flying over so closely even till 3 and 4am, we had no sleep at all on the first night.

Essentially we paid 300 pounds for 2 nights at London prices for what was in reality a Manchester bedsit.

The next morning at 6am, we heard Mark who owned the place, smoking, cursing and swearing at me right right outside our room. He said if "The f*cking c*nt wasn't happy, she could leave" But the crook had taken our money, so we couldn't leave.

We left the next day early in the morning. It was the best thing! It felt like being freed from jail.

My family stayed at a 2 bedroom place here for about a week. The rooms are clean and homey, and there was a living room, kitchen, and bathroom so it felt quite comfortable to live there. The surrounding area is peaceful, but the location is also close to the West Kensington tube stop so it is easy to get around to Central London and elsewhere.

I especially want to commend Mark the host. My family was unfortunately left without housing after a last minute Airbnb cancellation, but Mark both helped us contact Airbnb about the cancellation and offered us (but did not pressure us into taking) housing at his place. He helped us every step of the way, was very responsive on text messages, and we really appreciated his help.

It’s not 5 star, but neither are the prices.
It has a nice home like feel, 2 bedrooms, small lounge room area with big tv, small but useful kitchen and best of all a washing machine.
It is close transport and grocery shopping.
For us the biggest negative is hearing the neighbours all around us, especially at night trying to sleep, but if we could hear them, they could probably hear us too.
It was a nice down time for us.

Hi and thank you for your question about Castletown House. Our three bedroom apartment can accommodate 6 people, and a one bedroom apartment can accommodate up to 4 people. I would therefore recommend booking these two apartments. Please do let me know the dates you wish to visit London and I can check availability for you and you may also contact us directly should this be easier. We look forward to welcoming you to London should you make a booking with us.

Rates vary and can be found on their website. You may be able to negotiate a bit if not full. We did not have a car. Parking maybe only on street. Not sure.
