We came for 1 night stay while doing other events in the area. The check in process was quick. Front desk staff were very friendly. Hotel lobby was clean and updated. We didn't use the pool/gym area or the restuarant/bar area.
The room was outdated. Needs some work. Clean and comfortable. The light over our jacuzzi tub we couldn't use because it flickered the whole time if being dimmed. The tv remote had no back so the batteries kept falling out.
The price was right so it is what it is..
Stayed at this location in January 2020 while on a business trip is Meadowvale area. The check-in was quick and very friendly. The hotel is very well located near a very busy business center. Easy access to many mid-range and high end restaurants and other amenities. The hotel is a bit dated but my room was very clean, well furnished and decorated. If you are driving the parking is complementary. The only negative comment from my side was that breakfast area is small and the menu selection is limited.
BACKGROUND: We were on a road trip to Toronto and wanted to stay close enough to the city that we could get to its heart within 45 minutes on a weekend morning, but far enough away that we would have free parking and pay more reasonable rates.
LOCATION: This Courtyard is located near the 401, about 15 minutes from the Toronto Premium Outlets. The hotel is a bit hidden away in an office park but not impossible to find. I’m not sure I’d want to be there without wheels; the area is kind of dead at night and, other than Uber Eats and the hotel restaurant (which was terrific), dining choices are slim pickins’.
ROOMS: Standard issue Courtyard rooms: comfortable bed, sofa, and clean bathroom. The hotel didn’t seem like the newest but it did seem well maintained. For working, the room has a regular-size desk with access to many outlets for charging one’s many devices, and free Internet. For creature comforts, the room had a refrigerator and a TV with a good selection of channels (English and French, at least one Chinese channel, one multicultural channel, plus most major American networks).
OTHER ISSUES: As far as the basic hotel goes, this is a standard issue Courtyard by Marriott.
What distinguishes it is the exceptional service. Perhaps I was easily impressed because I had had a rotten experience the night before with a different chain, but every aspect of service exceeded expectations. The check-in was delightful. (Maybe I’m just remembering the big bag of snacks to thank me for my Gold membership in the BonVoy program, but I also recall the staff being especially welcoming and courteous.) We ended up having dinner in the restaurant and the service was polite and quick. But what blew me away was that they noticed I had left my glasses on the table, and called me in my room to let me know.
Of course, I had breakfast there the next morning. They didn’t need to remind me to take my glasses, but they were still extremely solicitous.
What was supposed to merely be a stopover on a road trip ended up being a pleasant memory, too.
Beware of shady practices. I'm a loyal Marriott member for years and I've never seen anything like that. Upon my return from the whirlpool (wet and half naked) around 8pm I saw a person in my room doing something; the person introduced himself as a Marriott employee who was there to turn on the TV. What a service! They even send people to your room when you are away to turn on the TV. Later GM assistant Nicole B. apologized for the incident stating they made a mistake and would process some extra points for the inconvenience. Ten days later - no points. Not only they disturbed my privacy and entered my room without notice, they also lied about compensation for the inconvenience. Worst Marriott ever.
p.s. looking at other people reviews I could've caught the person right in the middle of shady activity so I didn't lose any valuables.
I travel on a "shoe string" was taught by my mother in law. The hotel is beautiful and we have stayed the past 2-3 years. My husband and myself had adjoining rooms to his parents so we could visit back and forth. We stayed December 14 and December 15th. We had king size and his parents two queens. The King was very comfortable. The hotel was clean.
The down side is we suffer severe allergies to scents, perfumes etc. I was extremely disappointed that when I entered the building I was pasted by the scent they were piping through the building. I struggled as did my husband who suffers asthma and his mom who suffers asthma. In the middle of the night I woke up as I had a headache and my face ears were red and swollen. My husband was standing by the dresser wheezing quite badly. I love going to this hotel when we have our family gathering in Mississauga. However I probably wont be able to go back. My reaction is I get the shakes, mental fog and I get weak. My face was a beet red and sore.
"There are hundreds of thousands of individuals who suffer allergies and asthma. I explained to the front desk at check out that I enjoy their hotel but cant just ask them not to spray a room as the smell literally permeates the walls, the furniture, the carpet, everything.
Unfortunately this is my last time being able to stay at their hotel due to the scented products being piped throughout their facility via their air flow. Please consider NOT doing this so EVERYONE can enjoy your facilities.
