The creator of this retreat experience told us upon arrival that the universe assembles the most perfect group of attendees for each retreat. This could not have been more true. I honestly didn't know what I was signing up for, and I mean that in the best possible way. The universe definitely plucked me up & inserted me into 'The Law of Attraction' themed retreat during July 2016. I chose this particular retreat w/no knowledge of the topic or activities. My initial decision to sign up came from a longing to return to Tulum, where I had stumbled across the 'Life Source Retreats' sign eating lunch at the magical Alaya the previous year. I only knew there would be daily yoga, and that I needed a break.
I cannot explain in a review how truly transformative this experience was for me and the other eight attendees. We bonded like life long friends at summer camp. The week was filled w/joy, tears, laughter, and soul sharing, while we created our new life dreams. I'm not typically a "sharer" nor extremely outgoing, it usually takes me awhile to warm up. So if you are an introvert, please do not let that stop you from taking advantage of this wonderful experience. There is definitely an openness & magic that happens in Tulum; everyone should experience the great energy there.
Life Source Retreats assembles the perfect week of activities, rest, adventure, & delicious healthy meals shared together. The workshops & speakers were outstanding and truly helpful. The owner of Alaya came twice to share his story w/us, which was an inspiration. He mentioned that he may create a retreat for young people. I hope this becomes an offering b/c I would love to send my upcoming college grad as a gift. The information discussed would surely make a positive impact on those just starting out on their own.
There was a life coach from Portland who participated in the activities w/us and conducted a few workshops. She was phenomenally helpful to us all, not to mention fun w/fascinating stories.
The creator of Life Source Retreats, Michele, was a book of knowledge. She was also with our group most of the time; she was an absolute joy, so down to earth and fun. I loved hearing about her life & how she became involved w/creating this experience. I'm still reading and listening to her YouTube recommendations.
We all loved the yoga teacher, Eva, her classes were fun and welcoming. Each day she did a little something different, which we all enjoyed. The classes will accommodate beginners & all levels, so don't be shy about going if you have never done yoga as you will love it!
Then there was our Shaman, Avelino, who brought so much joy and wisdom to the experience. He led our morning sunrise ceremonies, a few spiritual rituals, and a fascinating workshop. He was also available for private sessions, of which I took advantage. He cracked almost every bone in my body, but afterwards, I can only describe the feeling as being 'high on life'. I would suggest booking two sessions if possible (one early in the week & one later)!
The accommodations are perfection, it's like walking into a beautiful fairytale. My room was absolutely gorgeous with a balcony overlooking the ocean. I kept the windows open at night to listen to the waves and I didn't need the A/C at all. There was a lot of thought and love that went into building this place, it's truly phenomenal.
All the meals at Alaya were delicious, a lot of thought & love go into every meal. We also ate off-site at 'Raw Love' one night (amazing), then tacos on the beach our last night (delicious & FUN)!
The waitstaff, housekeeping, and "on the ground" girls helping w/the retreat were all so genuine and helpful. Everyone is happy & wants you to be happy as well.
I have participated in a couple of other retreats, which were very nice, but none come close to the experience created by Life Source Retreats in Tulum. I hope they expand to other locations as I would love to continue the journey w/them!

My last minute plans to attend needed special attention and LSR gave me all that and more. Every single workshop (2 per day on average) was amazing and each one would step my emotional and spiritual being up a notch. Jina, Michelle, David are amazing. Excursions were fun, friendly, and Lisette did an incredible job on the personalized itinerary and making everyone feel right at home whatever the event. Their masseuse was the best ever. Hotel staff was so courteous. Hotel was clean and awesome in every way. As a perfectionist, there is always room for improvement, and in that area I would say quantity (not quality) of food. Food was nutritious and delicious, but if you're a big eater, you may need to ask for seconds. I cannot wait to go back again and would recommend this 110% to anyone and everyone. It really helped me in my life and I am so thankful and appreciative. BenC

My experience retreating with LifeSource literally changed my life. It blew my expectations out of the water. I simply thought I was going to yoga retreat, but it was so much more than that.
I was able to open up spiritual channels with their workshops, Mayan clay ceremony, Temazcal (sweat lodge). We had amazing guided excursions to Cenotes and to the scared Mayan Ruins. The staff was amazing. The hotel is stunning and your steps away from your room to the white sand beaches.

Spent an amazing week with wonderful people, beautiful beach view and learning about my "Journey to the Heart". I had never done any sort of spiritual retreat and was not sure what to expect but my expectations were blown out of the water! Each morning we watched the sun come up, spoke and felt gratitude before spending the days in workshops, yoga and excursions. Our instructor, Erin, was not only a brilliant teacher who knew her stuff, she truly leads by example. Some of the highlights included chanting as a group, sweat lodge, Mayan blessings, swimming in caves and having a reading by Dr. Peebles.
My room was very clean with daily service. The view looked like a postcard. The staff was excellent. The food delicious! I was lucky to see baby sea turtles hatch and make their way to the sea as well as glowing plankton lighting up the sea at night. Truly a magical experience that I would recommend.

I just wanted to find a place to relax & unplug - so the spiritual experience I had (& the weight I lost!) were added surprise bonuses at Life Source Retreats! I had been to Tulum before, but I've never experienced anything like this. Every single thing was taken care of for me. I just had to fly to Cancun. They arranged for a car to pick me up and take me to Alaya, where a lovely hostess greeted me & took me
to my STUNNING room! I'm so glad I splurged on the oceanfront suite. I could almost touch the water from my bed. The views, architecture, design, bedding, bathroom, even the Wifi and AC all were ideal. The retreat itself included customized gourmet food (I'm still shocked I lost lbs eating so well). I did almost all of the yoga classes, and I didn't even like yoga before this. The sharing circles were so cool to connect us all. I have new friends for life. the workshops changed the way I view the world. The excursions were perfect (Cenote was my favorite & Mayan Clay too). The owners (David & Michelle) both participated so much in the whole experience, I was surprised and grateful. Their story is very cool & inspirational. The whole staff really wanted to be there, seemed to love their jobs and genuinely cared about every one of us. I'm excited to go again and as often as I can to the different types. I still can't believe how much was included in the price. I did the math and it would've cost me more to add all of these things up individually than I paid. I came home with a nice tan, relaxed, toned, happy, and so grateful for life. The only thing I didn't like was having to leave!

Dear Kristi, I know it took so much for you to make your way to us... and I cannot tell you how grateful I am that you did! Who could have know that such a transformation would've taken place in such a short period of time! Just another example of how mystical Tulum has it's way with people, situations, and experiences... every time - and it's always perfect. Remember. And I'm happy to hear you've been able to bring everything you've learned home with you. See you soon! Much Love, Michele
