When you first find Restaway Holiday Units you might think...."oh oh, what have we got ourselves into?" But remember the old say "don't judge a book by its cover"? That is what Restaway Holiday Units are.
Leslie and Darren are lovingly renovating all the units and have done 5 of the 8 already. Our two bedroom unit, whilst compact was warm and cosy after a day on the snow at Mount Buffalo which is only 50 minutes drive away. There's a games room available with table tennis, air hockey and table soccer tables if you aren't too exhausted.
Nothing was too much trouble for Leslie and Darren who are both fountains of knowledge about the area and what to see and do. They also have a stock of games and DVD's if the weather turns nasty.
The setting around the apartments is breathtaking.
A lovely lovely stay.

We loved these apartments. We had a newly renovated unit that was warm, cosy and clean. Very well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and hot showers. The property had direct access to the ovens river which was great for the kids to play in and observe the wildlife. Also a games room which had table tennis, air hockey and fuzball. Only a short drive to Bright and at the base of Mt buffalo a very handy location. The managers were helpful and friendly .

Fabulous location with the Ovens at the rear of the Motel. Quiet, clean & recently renovated 2 bedroom units. Warm and cosy despite the cold temps outside. Friendly and attentive hosts. We will definitely be back- spring, summer, autumn or winter- a great spot all year round!

We stayed 2 nights 2 weeks ago. Restaway is just outside Bright at Porepunkah. Lovely position backing onto Ovens River; plenty of room outside for children to play, lovely setting, quiet and relaxing, plus games room and swimming pool for warmer weather. Our apartment, along with most of the others was recently refurbished, a very nice job done. We were very comfortable, warm and cosy. Split system air con.
The kitchenette had all the basics, No oven, but who wants that on a holiday. The owners Lesley and her husband are very friendly and helpful. We had a nice meal in the evening at the Porepunkah Pub. We were 3 adults.

Glad you enjoyed your stay with us in one of the renovated units. Yes, nice and cosy in the winter, cool and comfortable in the winter with the option of swimming in the salt water pool or the Ovens River behind us.

As regular visitors to the area but first-time visitors to Restaway Holiday Units, we couldn’t fault our recent experience. A well-sized, extremely clean unit, which was equipped with everything that we needed.

Our unit comprised 2 bedrooms (queen plus 2 singles, shower/vanity and seperate toilet, kitchen and lounge area.

The owner was lovely and welcoming. The free wifi connected and stayed connected. This was pleasing as wifi can be flaky in this area.

Restaway backs onto the Ovens River and the famous Bright to Wangaratta bicycle rail trail runs past the front gate.

What could be improved? Provision of a lamp in the lounge area, for more ambience at night.

Recommended!
