I normally never write reviews but this hotel really deserves one! Our stay was amazing- the staff (specially Sultan, Lindi and Mahindra), the food and the room were just outstanding. Sybille and Edwin, the owners, were great hosts and always helped us with any kind of question.
We will come back again. We miss everyone already- Thank you!
We've had a fantastic 8 Days in the Place.
The Stand Alone Bungalow did provide all necessary. We found it spacious, super clean, outstanding bath room. The Terrace was a pleasure every single evening.
Garden and Pool are brilliant, nicely designed and like everything else, super clean.
Breakfast was nicely setup and the buffet in the evening a highlight. The buffet in the evening was also enjoyed from outside visitors. It help us to reserve the table ahead of time.
We would like to thank the Management, everyone in the Service and security for make our stay most pleasant!
We were pre-warned by our travel agent that there are ongoing building works at Les Lauriers and that there would be noise. We could have re-booked to another hotel near the jetty but decided to come to Les Lauriers because of it's great location and good reviews. In the end it turned out to be the right decision especially as we got a free dinner to make up for the noise. Our room was not just a room but a bungalow with a large bedroom, luxurious bathroom with double (!) shower and wash basins and outside the bathroom an outside shower to wash off the sand from the beach. From our pation we were looking directly onto the building site where the hotel builds 20 extra rooms but the noise did not bother us too much. It only started when we went for breakfast and finished around 17.30 hrs. The breakfast buffet was very good with freshly made eggs of any variety, waffles, pancakes and crepes. I guess the kitchen baked all breads themselves including gorgious brioches, banana bread and chocolate croissants. There was a selection of cereals, joghurt with strawberry or pineapple purree, cheese, sausage, various jams and of course a tray with fresh fruits. We enjoyed twice the BBQ buffet for dinner. I am a vegetarian and there was a large selection of vegetarian salads. I also liked the potato gratin. My partner had beef steak and grilled fish and liked both very much. Just the service was not perfect. Both times we had to wait very long for our drinks, the second time the icea tea was only served half an hour after we had ordered it. The restaurant is an open, very stylish building and the pool is directly behind it. The hotel keeps turtles in an enclosure which I consider too small for the many animals. To get to the beach we just had to walk down the driveway, cross the road and head through the strip of palms and other greens that is right next to the beach. The beach is very clean, long and good for walking. There are a number of restaurants on the road from the hotel to the main road in easy walking distance. There are also a couple of supermarkets just around the corner. All in all we very much enjoyed our stay at the Cote d'Or and at this hotel.
We were delighted with our choice of Les Lauriers for the first part of our Seychelles holiday. The location was very good - few minutes walk to the Anse Volbert beach, several restaurants and shops. The standard rooms were very well equipped: big bathrooms, comfortable and clean bed, nice patio, in-room safe, fridge, tea kettle, tea/coffee, and air conditioning. The restaurant is a must if you are on Praslin, the nightly BBQ buffet with self-caught fresh fish and different meats. On top of that there are salads of all types, curries, soup and desserts. The breakfast is served in the same restaurant and it was also very good with variation every morning (Choice of eggs, toasts, pastries, pancakes, homemade cakes, fresh fruits and juices etc). We would definitely stay here again.
Great hotel and restaurant. Everything is very well run by the lovely owners who are helpful. The rooms are clean and the restaurant is very good. We have been to 4 and 5 star hotels on the Seychells, but the Lauries beets them all with a real Creole experience. The hotel is 2 mins walk from a 3km long white sanded beach which is good for swimming, but go a little further for snorkeling. The only downpoint is the missing reading lights in room 3
