We stayed here for 4 nights.
The rooms are fabulous- no complaints at all. Clean and well equipped. The air conditioning worked brilliantly! The fridge was brilliant too. Hairdryer is provided along with mini toiletries.
We were on the 3rd floor and the WiFi was fine. Walked up the stairs everytime because they didn’t appear to be a lift (although uncertain of this)?
Breakfast is odd. Cereals and fruit were our go to at breakfast. There were fried eggs, hot dog like sausages and fried vegetables (the only hot food available), and the rest of the breakfast was a selection of cold savoury pastries, small selection of meat and cheese and cold pancakes. No English breakfast tea either- odd. We opted for cereal everyday.
The pool area is well maintained and sun loungers are always available. Didn’t use the pool that much because there was so much to do surrounding the hotel and we had a limited amount of time.
The hotel is located in Becici, the beach across from the hotel is the best in the area (we thought so anyway). You just have to cross the busy road. The beachside restaurant ‘azzuro’ (I think it’s called) is highly recommended. There are plenty of bars and restaurants within walk in distance of the hotel.
Budva is a 20min walk through the tunnel, Budva old town is about a 35 min walk.
There’s a local bus that stops just past the takeaway directly to Budva outside the hotel it costs €2.
Airport transfers from the hotel costs €25
A modern looking, well-maintained and clean hotel with friendly and efficient staff, located about 5 minutes walk from the beach. There is a busy road to cross but there is a pedestrian crossing to use and traffic does stop. The hotel is at the top of a short but steep slope, so may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties. I was able to use wifi in my room but it was situated directly above the reception, in other rooms you may not be so lucky.
There is a bar, restaurant and pool at the hotel. Breakfast is buffet style, but with eggs cooked to order - the chef, however, does not seem to know what scrambled eggs are as I kept getting an omelette instead. There was juice, cereals and an interesting selection of other dishes mainly pastries, many of which you had no idea what they were. A better alternative, in my opinion, would be a selection of cheeses and meats, tomatoes, salads etc and perhaps croissants and sweet pastries. I did not use the restaurant for other meals but there is a good à la carte menu, and a set menu for just over €5.
I last minute decided on a stay at this hotel with friends and particularly selected it because they had a pool, and the reviews were adequate.
Firstly on arrival, the staff were very friendly, and provided a welcome drink for us as well. This wasn't expected but was the start of a very nice experience.
The manager was kind enough to contact taxis for us and made sure we didn't pay astronomical pricing which still occurs.
All staff were friendly, courteous, and willing to assist wherever and whenever possible.
The rooms are simple, bedding adequate, and bathrooms are clean(!!!). There is a minibar in the room with fair pricing. The bar also has fairly priced drinks, as well as the restaurant dining options (Capriccioso was yuuuuuum).
The pool doesn't supply towels, but if you forget one, they sell for about€6 at any location around the hotel.
Buses are €0.50 for a ride into Budva (Stari Grad), and taxis are about €5-6 depending on traffic.
Taxis from the airport should be no more than €30, but shuttle transfers can be prebooked for less than that.
All in all I would recommend this property to any type of traveller. You're close but far enough to be away from hustle and bustle.
Pool loungers are free for use, as well as the umbrellas. This will save you at least €8-10 per person.
Spent two weeks here at the beginning if June. It was very early in the season and there weren't many guests. We were on the first floor and from our balcony could see the sea. The balcony got the evening sun, it had two chairs and a table.
The room had two single beds pushed together, a TV which got sky news and CNN news and my husband found the euro 2016 games. We also had a fridge and on request they provided us with a kettle. We had a shower, plenty of towels and they provided shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. We had a sofa and plenty of drawers and hanging space. Water temperature and pressure were variable
The pool was empty for the first few days and the evening menu was limited due to the time of year. The twice we ate in the hotel the food was excellent. Breakfast was good. Buffet style with lots of choice.
Reception staff were really efficient and friendly Marijana speaks perfect English as does Vladan, one of the waiters.
There is wifi in reception and at the stairs but not in the room.
It is a great location, the last few yards are a bit steep. Beach is close, there is a sort of subway under the road. This is a bit uneven underfoot. There is a small mine market at the end of the road and a larger one a little bit further and a chemist.
Not a great number of electricity sockets in the room but we managed to charge everything we needed.
The staff really made this holiday. They couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
They did pick us up from Podgorica airport which was great
If you do not like crowded beaches in August, try avodi Becici, and the Budva beaches. Hotel Magnolija is an average comfortable small hotel with helpful staff. Its swimming pool (surface is covered with an horrible blue carpet!!) can provide a good alternative to the packed beaches, provided you go there in the mornings, because it is in the shade in the afternoons. Rooms are average size with a small terrace, overlooking the surrounding hotels and with a limited view of the sea. Unfortunately, sheets are quite small for the bed sizes but it seems the habit in this part of the world. Parking place is available in the underground garage but keys must be left at the congierce, otherwise parking on the street is difficult to find. Road access to the hotel is very narrow so you have to drive very carefully.
The town of Budva can be reached in a 30 minutes walk.
