Minnie Y's City Tips

  • Unlike many Asian countries, tipping is appreciated, something around 5%.
  • While the weather outside is hot, indoor temperature is set very cold. Bring a cardigan!
  • Taxi can be temperamental, particularly during shift-changing time. Get on the metro or tram.

Central is the financial district of Hong Kong, also where all the high-end shops are located. That said, there are also many not-so high end shops nearby, Mark & Spencer, Topshop, Zara, Gap, etc. After a day of shopping, Lam Kwai Fung and Hollywood Road is just a few blocks away.

Probably the most famous nightlife scene in Hong Kong. LKF was a gay hangout many years ago but has now gentrified to welcome everyone. Lots of bars and restaurants of all different price points.
